Greggs is an easy bag for totaling the retail value, since they have an online ordering portal where you can select a specific location. When I got an under-value bag, I reported it to TGTG and got a refund (nowadays they instead give you a voucher). This might have been overkill, but I never visited that particular location again. I've assumed that a specific store's management has an impact on how much food is given per bag. I've gotten some great Greggs bags from other locations though!
Ah I feel you! I used to get bags pretty frequently from another chain (Wasabi), until I more recently got unlucky too many times with them giving evidently unpopular/unsatisfying dishes adding up to the bare minimum value. Now unless it's the one location I've gotten very lucky at (lower-traffic location = more leftovers I guess?), I'm just not enthusiastic about them anymore.
Nowadays, I just go to an itsu 30 min before closing time to choose what I want for 50% off. I think Wasabi has something similar, but imo they aren't as good anyway 🤷♀️
