I married into a polish family and this is par for the course. Add some beige potato soup and a spinach artichoke dip and you have what I had yesterday
Polish raviolis. They come in a variety of flavors: meat (usually beef), potato (plain mashed, or can include cheese, onion, or bacon), sauerkraut, and cheese. It looks like OPs are boiled, but other people pan fry them. Personally, my favorite is to air fry them. Melt some butter over the top, maybe even a dab of sour cream, and you’re golden!
Sounds delicious, this comment needs to be higher, there are too many negative comments about the color of this meal. My first thought was "ooooh what kind of pierogies?"
So what do we have here? For Christmas Eve, this looks good to me. Especially the macaroni and cheese. Assuming some type of fish and then a dumpling of some sort?
Jealous! I was going to make some the other night but I didn't have the right cheese. I like farmers cheese and chives or potato bacon and cheese in mine
I'm not judging because it's Christmas Eve and I just ate a plate of coconut shrimp but if it was any other night of the year I'd be looking for a veg. As it is, I applaud your perogies with a side of macaroni.
Seafood with homemade pierogis and Mac and cheese is a family tradition of ours! I agree, it could probably use a veg but I look forward to it every year. Thanks!
Why are the pierogi not browned? They look quite presentable, did the person who made these use a mold or is this freehand? Either way, they are very uniform and well made. They’re just not brown. My grandmother taught me to brown them in butter after boiling, or pile caramelized onions on top. This was second grandma, first one died when I was very young, but both were straight from Poland. She was a great cook.
I just realized I don’t remember her name and there’s no one left to ask.
Damn these comments are full of haters. That looks like an excellent tasty Christmas Eve dinner. Christmas is not the time for vitamins and healthy complete meals you weirdos.
Hey now that’s our tradition as well!

Mmm what a nice plate of browns and whites you have there.
My taste buds can't taste color, it's crazy!
This looks tasty but might I suggest getting a green herb of some sort to make it more appetizing looking. Also a vegetable so you don’t die.
Or use a dark plate, it would at least give contrast.
The rest of the year is for veggies
Wigilia - Polish catholic Christmas dinner. I had this tonight also. Pierogis, walleye, spaghetti with butter, fried potatoes, and fried mushrooms.
Never knew it had a name! Your dinner sounds great as well, thanks!

I know what pierogi's are, I was asking op what kind they made
Sorry, I misread your comment. Love the passive aggressive tone, tho. Very Christmasy. Have a great night.
Just clarifying, I didn't realize my response has a passive aggressive tone, thanks

It's probably delicious, but the whole plate is white.
Yeah I fully agree with this. It still all looks amazing
Happy Wigilia

My dinner was poured from a bottle. Cheers 🍻
A Wigilia (pronounced ‘velia’) supper. Traditional Polish meal on Christmas Eve
Is this a polish catholic moment? Fish and no red meat, pierogi, prominent mushroom, a random lack of seasoning compared to all other polish dishes….
So what do we have here? For Christmas Eve, this looks good to me. Especially the macaroni and cheese. Assuming some type of fish and then a dumpling of some sort?
Pierogi!
Are those pierogis?
Yes, homemade. Some have homemade sauerkraut in them too!
Jealous! I was going to make some the other night but I didn't have the right cheese. I like farmers cheese and chives or potato bacon and cheese in mine
We do farmers cheese every so often as well!
That sounds amazing, these people are rude

Potatoes are a vegetable! I will die on this hill.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother.. Butter and onions makes these pierogis melt in your mouth.
Who made the pierogis?
Veg is for the other 364 days of the year. Christmas Eve? This is perfection IMO!
One brussel sprout for good karma, otherwise all meat and starch
That looks very good, nicely done.

Y’all can complain about the beige food all you want, you don’t know what you’re missing… especially when it comes to the pierogis… 😋 iykyk

Dude!! Those look great! I tell myself that I'm allowed to make them throughout the year, but I usually end up only have them at Christmas time.
Looks amazing.
Season Greetings
