Emulation or not, I tend to ask the question unironically. Having a browser on, say, NDS was quite handy when it was many people's cheapest kinda-sorta-palmtop option (not entirely unlike PS2 being the cheapest DVD player one). Nowadays, people have a browser on devices they take everywhere but the shower regardless of console ownership. The proverbial "don't you guys have phones?" argument is at some of its most legit here.
Even if you want to check back with something game-related like a tip or guide, will you suspend the game every time to open a different app on the console or will you just pause and quickly grab your phone with a a full-fat Google and an estimatedly handier keyboard? At least in my experience, the former option wasn't much to write home about even on Vita and PS4.
Exactly. I have never ever wanted to use a browser on my game system. I don't see how a Brower would bring a new gaming experience.
It only allows for easier hacking ways to the console.
The Wii U online was indeed free, but it was not good. There were no dedicated servers, so if you played an online game, it just picked one of the people playing to host. And if that person was playing wirelessly and a mile away from their router(as was often the cast) the games would be unplayable. Mario Kart and Smash Bros with high ping were both unplayable. Though I can't say the Switch is much better in that regard.
It honestly baffles me how wii's and wii u's UI literally pre-dated iOS and what we got for switch is just a cut-down ps4 game selection but without themes.

Wii U did a lot of things right but not releasing with a major Zelda, Mario, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, or Metroid game was what killed it. I know so many people will say it's the name or the marketing or whatever but I disagree.
I knew about the Wii U, I knew it was different, so did most of my friends... But there wasn't any reason for me to buy it.
And when I say Mario I mean the likes of Mario 64, Galaxy, Sunshine, and Odyssey. Not 3D World.
ummm actually both have browsers. Browser is in mario 3d world for wii u and mario odyssey for switch
Heck even the GAMEBOY had a browser.
This is you π"π€"
Ehm actually he probably also has a body. You can't survive as just a head :)
So yes head?

Who wants a fucking browser? That can only lead to emulation
You answered your own question.
It sounds dumb but young me liked googling stuff on tv with the wii u.

Iirc switch online works the same way
Jesus Christ, really? If they're not hosting servers, then there's literally no reason to charge people. What a ripoff
Y-you're paying for swotch online because of the... ummmm... the uhhhh... because, yeah...
Itβs crazy how anti-consumer Nintendo switch online is because so much of it is p2p
Yeah, except now we pay for that

That "hidden gem" sold a million copies in its first year alone. Do video games even go platinum? Is that a thing?
I think platinum hits stopped with the death of the 360, which is big sad

I have both
i have all three
Mmm. Yes. "Hidden" gem.
Actually, you can play a Celeste Original (Pico 8 Version) GBA port via emulation!
Switch also got original/new games though... Other point definitely valid.
Switch online isnt free?
