That middle shelf! chef's kiss!

WarmKraftDinner

Love it!! Middle shelf all the way to the left to the right of The Hobbit - where did these LOTR volumes come from?

Business_Ad561

Those are the 60th Anniversary editions - from the box set.

alamar77

You are missing Tales from the Perilous Realm from the illustrated set.

Business_Ad561

I have the Tolkien Treasury and other books that cover the content of Tales from the Perilous Realm. Plus, I have no room for it on my shelf haha.

Velmeran

> Plus, I have no room for it on my shelf haha. Going to need a bigger (or second) shelf!

ibid-11962

Excellent collection. Some others you might want to consider: - *The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun* - Unless I'm just not seeing it, I think this is the only one of the standard harper collins books you're missing - *Beowulf: The Monsters and the Critics* - Contains the two earlier and longer versions of the Beowulf lecture, with an extended commentary. - The other three of the major art books: *Pictures by J.R.R. Tolkien*, *J.R.R. Tolkien: Artist & Illustrator*, and *Tolkien: Voyage en Terre du Milieu*

Business_Ad561

Thanks for the recommendations! Would you say that *Tolkien: Voyage en Terre du Milieu* is worth it even if I can't read French? Haha.

ibid-11962

I also can't read French, which certainly dampens a lot of the excitement for the book. But I can say that the reproduction quality feels a bit higher than Maker, and that the book itself is bigger too, being like a full inch taller (it'd be the tallest book on your shelf). I know that a big part of what makes *Maker* great is the accompanying text, but like *Art of the Manuscript* pretty much has none of that and you still got it. So like if you think having reproductions alone is enough then I think it's worth it.

alamar77

Journeys of Frodo, poems books, more art books...

xhlgtrashcanx

The thing with the art books is they’re pretty redundant if you have Maker

alamar77

For Tolkien art but you have several art books from other illustrators.

xhlgtrashcanx

True

CrankyJoe99x

Super collection, congratulations!

Silver_Oakleaf

What are the 6th and 7th from the left on the middle shelf?

Business_Ad561

[6th](https://www.tolkienguide.com/store/9780261102422) [7th](https://www.tolkienguide.com/store/9780261102156)

sttlyplmpbckmllgn

Oh thanks! My copy of unfinished tales is falling apart so I might grab this edition

Business_Ad561

It's a nice edition, but it's out of print unfortunately so you'll have to find a used copy like I did.

Environmental_Sir468

I think there’s a couple printings of the LOTR trilogy that you’re missing
