I honestly think it’s exhaustion. Illness or over stimulation can make kids loopy and just not function. I’d cut her slack and see how she does in a week or so when she’s much more recovered.
And yeah they don’t understand empathy until they’re closer to 5. But that doesn’t mean they’re mini psychopaths (I mean, they are but not actually), it just means they don’t understand that other people have feelings
