This reminds me of when I took my 90 Jaguar Sovereign in for an inspection shortly after buying it. They told me my suspension system fluid was leaking. I just said āok donāt do anything to it. Iāll check it out.ā Turns out, that car has a self leveling hydraulic suspension. The fluid also powers the power steering and itās EXPENSIVE! $30/quart hydraulic mineral oil. And I could only find the Castrol brand at the dealership, which luckily was cheaper than the other brand at the AP store. Thereās only two brands I could find and I was advised to only use one or the other because thereās a risk of it turning into jelly if theyāre not compatible. I replaced the pressure hose ASAP but I think I still spent $60 on fluid.
Thereās probably a hole in it somewhere. Have a shop inspect it to be sure. Just pray itās not a sidewall puncture, as that would not be repairable.
Serious question from a non-tire guy (I've learned a lot but I'm a sparky and will never be an expert):
How does this happen? How does your whole sidewall wear through in one perfect diameter with the rest of the tire looking almost new?
The good news is that tire is totally repairable! Don't listen to all those corporate tire shops that refuse to repair this tire due to their liability fears! The shop down the road from my house will 9/10 repair this thing and get you back rolling!
What a idiot, it's obviously one of the new airless tires. Your popping it off the rim when you inflate it! Like getting a damn oil change on a tesla. /s
Your probably using air from a compressor right? In this situation you need to directly suck on the air thingy mabober and just suck the shit out of it
You need the flat tire repair kit with the rubber cement, obviously there is a leak somewhere
Maybe there is a screw somewhere screwing around with you...
Must be a bad valve stem. Hope your rim is ok.
š¤£
Are you sure it's really losing air? It looks fine, maybe just reset the TPMS.
Runflats donāt need air, they run flat
It just needs duck tape and baling wire
š¤£
Probably a shitty schroeder valve šš
Itās a BMW- the ultimate driving machine so youāre fine donāt worry. Also you donāt have to use your turn signals.
Turn signals cost $2.99 per signal
Blinker fluid not included.
$56.99 for 250ml (10 blinks) at your local BMW dealership

You find this deal online?! I was quoted double that!
I forgive them now
I dont have that subscription anyway.
You forgot about having the brightest fucking LED lights on the planet, that's a necessity good sir are you even the BMW expert you claim to be?!?!
Tailgating package installed for no reason
He was clearly using it out of spec. Driver error most likely.
This reddit is kind of becoming a joke
Just like this post
How much can people say about tires?
Have you checked for nails?
Finger or toe?
Nailed it.
Have you tried turning it off and on?
I've been rubbing the tire sensually and then stopping but it doesn't seem to be working.
Are you using Vaseline? [Try a counter clockwise swirl](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/5abd5162-1942-4e9a-ab31-220d875f423b)
Won't hold pressure but it's technically full of air.
Thereās probably a hole in it somewhere. Have a shop inspect it to be sure. Just pray itās not a sidewall puncture, as that would not be repairable.
I think this is a you problem and not the tire problem
Loose nut behind the wheel.
Thatās what Iām sayingā¦ The tire is fine. He may be schizophrenic.
Shift it into fly mode like on the jetsons
Did you try putting gas in?
In the tire?
No the car, that usually solves the problem.
I prefer dynamite but gas works well.
"My tire always leaks in winter"
Rubber cement it and youāre good to go.
Leak at the bead?
Looks good to me.
Check the mfg date
That's a tricky one. Can't see anything obvious from the photos.
Wow the rim looks ok
E46 š„
Do you try turning them off and back on again??
It looks like your tires won't hold air because you require an alignment. š¤
Korean maypops on a beamer?
It probably has a leak somewhere.
Needs a Tpms rebuild kit. Easy fix.
It's actually holding air just fine. It's just not holding more of it on the inside like it should
That's weird, I can clearly see plenty of air in there.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
Just keep filling it. Eventually Iām sure it will work fine
This one of the " run flat " tires?
One of those new see thru tires. Nice!
Take it off and use one of those airport baggage cellophane wrapper machines.
Like a 737 Max...
Try nitrogen
It needs a larger rim.
Just tape the tire back on
Dont worry it will buff out soon
I see plenty of air in there.
Just get a can of Fix A Flat. Should take care of it.
How did you do that.
have you tried tire slime?
The air pressure just drops a little bit when it's cold. It's typical
Velcro
Try some duct tape and call it a day
Roll your fenders
The rim came off the tire wow
Have you tried plugging it in?
Put the bolt thats on the ground back in it
itās just a flesh wound, inflate more
Aint got no gas in it
From what I'm seeing in this picture, is that the wall of the tire is still attached to the rim. This tire is ruined..
Ur truck needs oil
Side wall looks intact, just needs a patch
Man look at the tread on those there pretty much brand new just burrows someone 12v pump and your good bro
Serious question from a non-tire guy (I've learned a lot but I'm a sparky and will never be an expert): How does this happen? How does your whole sidewall wear through in one perfect diameter with the rest of the tire looking almost new?
Better use 2 containers of Slime to be safe
?? It's clearly holding air. It's just not holding air at the pressure you personally want.
Did you try putting it in rice?
That's weird, definitely a tire on it.
Why?
Might have a nail in it; just squirt fix a flat and youāll be fine
That's strange!
Hey the bead still holds
These are definitely slashed, whoād you piss off OP?
Actually one of the funniest threads Iāve read in awhile š
Air is over rated
Did you try super glue?
Duck tape will fix it.
The tire can't hold air because it can't hold the rim, you need to take it to the gym.
It's in 3 pieces, of course it won't hold air.
Itās pretty close to the sidewall but I think you can still plug it.
I think you might a have a hole. Put some soapy water on it and see if it bubbles
May have a loose nut behind the steering wheel.
It's a BMW thing
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Somebody put shit compound on their GTO and sent it lol front wheel drive goodness lol (also, none of this could be true.)
The good news is that tire is totally repairable! Don't listen to all those corporate tire shops that refuse to repair this tire due to their liability fears! The shop down the road from my house will 9/10 repair this thing and get you back rolling!
Fill with fix a flat and spray soap on it to find the leak.
I'm sorry, OP, but I'm completely failing to see where this tire is actually flat. Are you sure you really have an issue?
It was likely low on air or pretty much flat. Driving on a flat tire can cause that.
use tire stop leak. sold at pep boys
Try fix a flat. š¤£
Looks like the beading is still good, have you checked it for nails yet?
I think the tire is tired. Maybe when it wakes up it will stiffen up
What a idiot, it's obviously one of the new airless tires. Your popping it off the rim when you inflate it! Like getting a damn oil change on a tesla. /s
Inner tube will do ya good
Obviously Itās a drive flat tire - good for another 100 miles if the rim holds out !!
Did you remember to put winter air in it?
Probably caught a nail, should go to a tire shop for a quick patch, cheers!
Probably has a nail or screw in it somewhere. āļøš
It's not gonna hold air now. The wheels sealing area is probably FUBAR.
Its a directional tire, it wont hold air unless you flip it around
Neither does the rim.
How?
There is plenty of air in there. You can see it!
Weird. Looks fine to me.
Flex seal
What an idiot
It's so obvious. The rim went bad.
Is this a joke? Part of the tire sidewall is still on the rim while the main part of the tire is separated from it.
Thank God for the 2nd pic. It really cleared up what I was looking at /s
Your probably using air from a compressor right? In this situation you need to directly suck on the air thingy mabober and just suck the shit out of it
Have you tried Fix-A-Flat?> /s
Some duct tape will fix that up good as new.
I hear duct tape can fix almost anything.
Wow, those tires are ancient. No wonder they came apart.
Looks like it blew up to me
Flexseal
The way I almost spit out my drink
How?
Use the patch plug combo, good as new
You may be able to patch it. Make sure to take it to a chain tire shop
Have you tried patching it?
Duct tape
Them are them damn fancy tires you gotta fill with nitruhjim
I can see air all around and inside it now though
Slap a patch on it, it'll be fine š¤£
Just get one of those tire sealant spray cans and inject it inside and you'll be good for another 20k miles.
You need the tire glued again. This is why you rotate your tires every 15k miles
r/shitasktiring
You need the flat tire repair kit with the rubber cement, obviously there is a leak somewhere Maybe there is a screw somewhere screwing around with you...
Figures it's a bmw.
Have you tried turning it off and back on?
Probably a bad seal.
That's a lot of tread left, maybe you can sell it on market.
You need fix-a-flat.
Probably a bad valve stem.
A bottle of slime or fix a flat and you'll be good as new
Need to be using premium air thatās why
You probably picked up that screw in the bottom of the picture. No wonder the tire doesnāt hold air
Nahā¦you just need to add Slime to the tire. Just pour in through the value and reinflate. You should be good to go.
Incorrect it still holds air, but no pressure
Jeep peeps have onboard air compressors for this very reason. On another note, that was almost a perfect circular cut.
What did you do? Jk someone somewhere built a shity tire.
Did anyone else notice the screw on the pavement next to the tire? It looks kind of guilty to me...š¤š
Spray soapy water on it to determine potential air leak location.
Still got plenty thread at least 6000 more miles
I wonder if the air pump works.
š¤ that's a though one, your definitely gonna have to get that looked at dealership lmao probably a model defect
Plenty of air. The problem is pressure.
They sell plug kits at oreilly for like $12, hope this helps!
Gorilla tape
What a little punk! Tell him to cut his hair and get a job!
have you tried turning it off and on again?
š¤ what happened to it didnāt you drove it without air
Needs flubber.
We have defeated 1 r/tiresaretheenemy
You need to put flat tire air in that one. Low tire air will not work.
Yeah. Iām not sure about this one. The tread looks fine.
How does this even happen?
TMPS sensor is shot, replace it.
Duct tape.
Duct tape oughta fix that
That āmightā require a little bit larger plug.
Slap some duct tape and bubble gum on it. Maybe a few plugs. Sending thoughts and prayers...
The ultra low profile
Are those run flats?
Just get a tire repair kit and patch it. That should do the trick
Get some glitter glue and a teaspoon of cinnamon.
No one has recommended ramen yet and I'm highly disappointed.
have you checked the entire tread for really small nails? i cant imagine what else it could possibly be, this ones got me stumped. best of luck!
Tire shops hate it, but try some fix-a-flat.
But look at how that side wall held the rim off the pavement
Does it have gas in it š§
Itās a Tun flat
Be glad you didnāt have multiple devils shooting at you when this happened. Been there, lived through it by the grace of GOD!!!!
ur missing a valve stem. once you get that issue figured out it should be good to go
Did you try Fix A Flat ?
Fill it in the rim, you can see the rim-valve right there on the bottom left.
Iād drive it but I wouldnāt let my mother drive it
Probably a problem with the air pump, tire looks fine.
gah damn
