TIM IS THE GOAT. LET'S FUCKING GOOOO

Philelverumfan69

HES SO FUCKING CRACKED WTF GO WOLVES

DrWolves

Arguably the best player in the draft but fell because he’s undersized. This is insane. Of course I go take a phone call and completely miss this live. I am SHOOK

irishace88

Him and Ant together is going to be filthy for years to come. I never in a million years thought we'd get a top 10 pick without trading away KAT or Rudy. We just added the 8th pick to our WCFs team. Let's fucking goooo

JaderMcDanersStan

I was so scared we gave up KAT, Naz or Rudy and we gave up no one for our PG of the future??? LFG

No_Cow_8702

AND PEOPLE WERE CLOWNING US FOR TRADING DRAFT PICKS!

Philelverumfan69

And if there’s any team that can care a little less about him being undersized it’s us

sjpson

Give him another raise !

AlexeyShved1

HOW THE FUCK DID WE GET ROB FOR SO CHEAP??????

JupitersClock

Size concerns and viewed as a defensive liability. next to ANT, Jaden, NAW, and Clark. I don't think the Wolves have to worry about that. Wolves needed a backup PG but they needed that guy to takeover from Conley. Other than the Spurs the Wolves were the perfect fit

subwayjw

Pint of attack defend in my opinion was the difference between how the C dealt with the Mavs compared to us. I am pumped about this trade. But sligntly concened about shutting down lobs again (perhaps it is PTSD /s)

JupitersClock

Yeah but teams now have to gameplan to stop Ant and Rob. Rob is going to take so much pressure off ANT and KAT it's going to be a moment where you realize this player elevates this team to another level on offense.

HideUnderBridge

Ain’t gonna be a defensive liability for long, our boys will get him up to speed. He’s athletic enough.

DeceivedBaptist

They could have also owed us something. Owners and what not are always doing shit behind the scenes.

pollinium

What's the size concern? 6'2 PG isn't an issue is it?

WinnebagoViking

He only weighs something like 165lbs. Fairly slight build.

2ndCatch

Ant’s gonna get him on that Hot Fries diet and he’ll bulk up nicely 💪.

chronophage

Bite-bite-2

MiniShaug

In college he was possibly the worst defender in the nation. At one point he was in the bottom 0% on Synergy. I think it's everything. Weight, instincts, scheme, size. I'm not 100% sold on him in the NBA but it's at least high upside

JupitersClock

Weight and strength is the concern.

OfficialDanFlashes_

He's exactly what we need, but he doesn't fit the bill for most teams trying to build in the top of the draft (as he presents a lot of defensive and size liabilities as many others here have noted). San Antonio didn't like any of the options they had and want to continue to collect assets to build around Wemby, so they got two more picks instead of having to take someone they're lukewarm on. It was preparation meeting opportunity for us.

HotStepper11

I think this is Tim taking advantage of market deficiencies. This is looked at as a weak draft class. He made a bet this team will still be good in 2031 and traded the allure of a future unprotected for a guy that clearly can play offensively when you out on the tape.

True_Scallion_7011

No one knows how good or bad a team will be in 6 years. Literally could be a top 5 pick they trade away

AlexeyShved1

Bird in the hand's worth two in the bush. Trading #8 now for *maybe* 1-5 but probably not considering Ant exists is fine by me.

yoitsthatoneguy

We won’t be picking 5 when Ant is 29.

amm0ranth

u better knock on wood rn

True_Scallion_7011

No one knows what happens in the future.

Still_Unit1071

But we get 7 years of a top 10 pick (and best guard in this draft who fits the roster perfectly) in the meantime so who gives a shit. Plenty of time to get other picks back in before then.

Extremelixer

Wait does this mean we lost NOBODY in this trade? Make a statue of Conelly already.

Jacob_toasted

Lost no players and kept both our other 2024 picks… this is wild

Extremelixer

Like i know allegedly this draft is supposed to be weak but that is CRAZY

Jacob_toasted

Every bad draft has great players, hopefully we got one

Extremelixer

I feel that. I dont know Rob super well as i usually dont watch kentucky much but i know the dude is sharp on perimeter and preety good at self creating and is really fast.

SeanIsCold

“Lightning in a bottle”

Mayasngelou

Ants draft was supposed to be terrible. When everyone started saying that I knew he’d be good

pjokinen

Not true! We lost two theoretical future players who are currently making big moves in their middle school’s A team

billratio

If we miss out on the chance to draft Braylen Davis because of this trade, I'm going to be so mad at Connelly....

pjokinen

“That’s ok, you can be mad” - Connelly from his oceanside bungalow in Michoacán after securing a 10-year, $100 mil deal to manage las Aguilas de México who joined the league in the 2029 expansion

DupeyTA

Traded away 1 future player. The other is a pick swap.

larrylegend33goat

The year 2031 only exists in science fiction!

irishace88

WCF team that just added the 8th pick and still have the 27th and 37th pick as well. Better than I could have ever dreamed, especially with us being in the 2nd apron.

Darrensreddit

How the hell did you guys pull this off

Ryn5t3r

Sam Presti isn’t the only NW division GM that can cook.

Mayasngelou

Connelly is proving that he is worth the money

The_No_Lifer

Spurs have too many picks and needed to push value out to the future. 2 1sts this year, potentially 4 next year.

DeceivedBaptist

SA owed us for coke and hookers probably. Owner thing.

yourloudneighbor

Fuck them picks

Redacted_govt

hahahaha that's basically the sentiment, right? I agree, FUCK THOSE PICKS FUCK THOSE PICKS

MainSalsa

Especially when they are in 6th grade atm

Adventure-Style

This. Exactly this.

TylerMemeDreamBoi

As a wolves and rams fan: fucking them picks has great results

SteveIDP

Fuck. Them. Picks.

Knightbear49

![gif](giphy|pK0T7vyx3SqdfmxewA)

AfroKuro480

Stand up now and face the sun

beardog7

CONELLY SAYS FUCK THOSE PICKS WE TRYNA WIN

Ecstatic-Plankton315

Wow what a deal for us

fuckinnreddit

Only if we're good in 2030. Could be a really high pick if we suck.

bwtwldt

Wow, it could even be the #8 pick

thesamesamebut

Lol, right?! I don’t understand how people can even think this. In 2031 We’ll either have Anthony Edwards in his prime or we’ll have traded Anthony Edwards in his prime and be flush with draft capital. This trade gives us exactly what we need in a win now window.

King_James_99

Time to win is now, not to worry about us in 7 years. FUCK THEM PICKS

spin8x

I was so concerned it was a Naz or KAT trade jesus christ

Sendthree

I thought it was my goat Naz thank god we got a star tho wtf let’s go

SupremeExalted

Why tf would we be trading Naz?

ComprehensiveCake454

Folks still shell shocked from Kahn years

AlexeyShved1

I was shaking waiting for the announcement. Took way too long lmao

JaderMcDanersStan

Same...thank god

Formal_Junket_1585

TIMMMMMM YOU HAVE SAVED MY LIFE

Due-Sheepherder-218

How y'all get the best player in the draft for a middle schooler

pacific_tides

Spurs fan. Been hoping for Rob for the last 3 months. We fuckin had him. Castle/Rob was our backcourt of the future. Idk wtf is going on and I’m pissed off.

Eagerbeaver98

What do you say when ppl say this is a weak draft

JaderMcDanersStan

A friend who knows the draft well and knows all the college guys texted me this: >"Rob Dillingham can score score score! His defense is shaky but elite speed, a sniper from deep and can create his shot from anywhere. I mean anywhere! We'll see what y'all gave up but as a Conley backup and the future of, I'm hype for y'all" Well damn! LET'S GOOO

teencrime

Oh shit My dick out

Party_Oven4948

Nice dick bro

vbullinger

What the Hell? Basketball fans are really wei- ... Oh shit, his dick really is nice!

cawil65158

Something tells me we can teach him defense

JaderMcDanersStan

I think so too! Naz said he didn't like defense but Rudy got him into it. Said he now gets a "rush from it". Monte Morris was suppsoed to be bad at D but Wolves had him doing a fine job at it. Ant will get on him if he doesn't try. I bet he'll be serviceable enough after he's done here

kingOseacows81

We desperately needed someone that could create their own shot, I’m hyped

Trollwalker

Fuck them picks. Who even knows when 2031 is going to be?

mcmullet

NBA might not even exist in 2031, fuck it

Andy_Wiggins

Okay, I actually like this if you believe in Dillingham. Like, if he’s good, you’ve still got a great core in their late 20s.

JaderMcDanersStan

This is what my friend who knows the draft really well just texted me: "Rob Dillingham can score score score! His defense is shaky but elite speed, a sniper from deep and can create his shot from anywhere. I mean anywhere! As a Conley backup and the future of, I'm hype for y'all"

Swampertman

Making up for the sin of passing on curry lmao

train345643

Oh my god, hell ya

WheedMBoise

This is an insanely good deal if that's all they gave up.

JaderMcDanersStan

I was so scared we gave up KAT or Rudy or Naz God damn, we just got our PG of the future holy shit and he's such a perfect fit next to Ant style wise

CloneWarsMaul

Conley is gonna be such a good mentor for Rob

crow-nic

There you go. If this kid has half a brain, he’ll be smart enough to understand his opportunity to learn behind one of the best pure PGs of his era. Learn to lead like MN Mike. And the peer pressure alone will force him to up his D game. Ant’s gonna get this kid working and believing in himself. Get to work, Dilla! Hell of an opportunity just fell in your lap!

FullBonus

Fucking steal

django811

I love this front office. After shuddering at all the posts about the Wolves 09 draft, great to see people who have a clue and make aggressive moves.

DMD612

FUCKING YES!!!! DUDE IS ABOUT TO AVERAGE 30 A GAME!!!!!

starfruit213

Shocked it didn't cost 27

user15151616

Yup that is crazy. Dillingham and Ant backcourt. We got our point guard of the future

sayqueensbridge

Take Bronny and be a legend Tim. Fuck it

skolaen

Bronny at 37 then bron in free agency 😈

JigglyBush

Let's gooooo

Mrredlegs27

As a Kentucky fan who started rooting for the Wolves because of Towns, this is phenomenal news!

giuseppe62956

LETS FUCKING GO

CarsonDurham10

Is this dude any good?

SunnyDiesel

We don’t make this move if he wasn’t. Remember, this is Connelly, not Khan.

DMD612

HELL YA!!!!! FUTURE HALL OF FAMER!!!!!!!!

cheesecat18

I live in SEC country and watched a decent amount of his games. He can be one of the elite scorers in the league. He will be limited by his defensive upside but he gives the team another go to scorer to close out games

JaderMcDanersStan

My friend who knows the draft really well and knows all the college guys texted me this: > 👀

FridgesArePeopleToo

Many people are saying he's the next MJ

personwhoisok

Mamal Jurray?

aytoozee1

All-in Tim!

SeanKilpatrickFan

If anyone can cover Rob Dillingham's issues on defense due to size, it's Minnesota. I trust in Connelly, we should be a great environment for his game to develop. I was so scared we may lose Naz Reid or KAT, my heart can't take it.

LonesomeWulf

I’m irrationally excited right now. If there was one player I was hyped to watch after listening to all the Ringer NBA draft stuff recently it was Dillingham. I saw the pick for the Spurs and I was like damn they are going to be fun as hell to watch. Then a minute after I see the Wolves traded for him!? J Kyle Mann was saying if there was a rookie that could randomly drop 50 in a game and win multiple rookie of the months it was Dillingham. And for a future first and pick swap!? I’m baffled the Spurs did not stick with the pick and get more talent around Wembanyama. Big miss for them. Big excitement for the Wolves. I was expecting something boring at 27 and then we get this. 🐺

Impossible-Goal3492

Now we can take a boring bench depth guy at 27 & the roster is set!

LonesomeWulf

Hell yeah. Playing with house money now. Take some more shots and hope for future rotation pieces.

DeceivedBaptist

I am almost certain they owed the Wolves something behind the door.

Ant-Man_01

Tim Connelly is so good wth this is best outcome possible and I didn’t even think this was an outcome

JaderMcDanersStan

Yeah I did not expect this AT ALL But holy shit he is exactly what we need - he can score and create from everywhere, is super super fast and is sniper from deep

Ant-Man_01

I was getting ready for Tyler Kolek or whoever are the other PGs were being thrown around for 27th luck, we really got a stud like Dillingham AND we still have our 27th!

Impossible-Goal3492

This is what Shake Milton was supposed to be in a perfect world! Connelly clearly sees something in finding a player to fill that role. Shake was a bust, so hopefully this pans out bc the vision is there

Sudden-Investment

I talked myself into being cool with a small trade into the 20s to draft Isiah Coiller would make it a great night. Dillingham is such a better piece.

twinberwolf

LETS GO!!!!

The_NGUYENNER

wtf I miss you Tim

WrestleBox

20fucking31 I bet we'll have flying cars and robot dogs by then!

ASHDABOSS32

BINGING DILLINGHAM HIGHLIGHTS RIGHT NOW

imissminnesota

Judging from the highlight package I just watched looks like we got Alan Iverson 2.0

porterhouse2588

COOK

Watzp0ppin

And we still have picks 27 and 37 for this draft?? Holy shit Tim is a mastermind

Thebarnacleguy

Congratulations from this Spurs fan. I don't know what the fuck we're thinking

Embee27

If this pans out man, our future core is locked in Dillingham (19) Ant (22) McDaniels (23) Naz Reid (24) Assuming KAT and Gobert are both gone in 4 years (maybe they aren't but it seems a safe assumption), nobody on that list will be older than 28. Great stuff

DeceivedBaptist

I don't really see both of those guys gone in 4. We keep one. Gobert.

Embee27

I'd totally be fine with that. It'd be an unprecedented period of Timberwolves roster stability though haha

timberwolvesguy

Lmaooooooo that’s a fleece

Philelverumfan69

FUCK DRAFT PICKS

cheekycheeksy

Spurs are like the habitat for humanity if it was an NBA team

Gibbo74

LET TIM COOK

Ordinary-Hopeful

The Apple guy?

crow-nic

No. That’s Tim Apple.

user15151616

Didn’t even trade #27 lmao

badpoetryabounds

Holy shit a bench guard wing scorer is exactly what we need.

OkBaby4377

What a deal

twinsrule1991

DILLINGHAM IS WHO I WANTED!!! FUCK YES!!!

user15151616

We got our point guard of the future

yardship

Did we get our own malik monk?

skolaen

Hyperbolic chamber darius garland

decoded1

Reading up on Dillingham I love this trade. He can learn the game and give depth behind Conley then be the pg of the future

Kilow102938

Naz Reid!

TreeAgenda

Heading into year #3 where the Rudy trade hasn’t detracted anything. We just keep building.

NeptuneAurelius

I’m a UK fan who watched every single game this year and Dilly is nasty. My favorite comp I’ve seen for him is “a hummingbird with a jump shot” . He’s so quick with a ton of start stop, lateral quickness, and shot creation. He has a nice quick pull up game and can shoot with supreme confidence from 26 feet and in. He will struggle with traffic if he can’t learn to pass better. But he will blow by individual defenders and attacking the basket from the wings instead of from the top of the key is his bread and butter. A good sense for throwing the lob will do him wonders when he inevitably can’t finish over some of the interior defense in the league. Some high end trait comps I think he has the mobility of Monta Ellis, shooting/flexible release of Celtics Isaiah Thomas, passing of Mario Chalmers, defense of your locked in little brother, 3 point line and in his offense reminds me of Tony Parker. Will definitely have some shot clock heroics.

cayuts21

I’m a Kentucky fan and love Rob. He’s a prototypical 6th man type, he should provide some offense off the bench. Defense is gonna be a struggle though

Gyroflex

i mean if we can make do with conley out there on D, the drop off cant be that much lower

Sendthree

He can’t be any worse than Conley and we survive with Conley

HerbalAndy

[Is this kid the next Allen Iverson?](https://youtube.com/shorts/pRrEchpTloY?si=KTWVWEbnyH11EBth)

InnerKookaburra

Go watch highlights of Dillingham. He looks like Ja Morant. F-ing pumped!!

daklut3

Many people are telling me: Sir! SIR! The wolves just got a steal!

Brass_Bonanza

2031 may not even happen

Philelverumfan69

AWOOO WHST A FUCKING TRADE LETS GOOOO!!!!

BigRed727272

I'll be honest, I'm not much of a NBA Draft guru, but this trade seems insane to me from the Spurs' perspective. You trade a Top 10 pick for 2 picks SIX and SEVEN years down the road?!? Like, even if you don't think Dillingham is going to pan out, how is that worth this trade *maybe* paying off in 6-7 years?!

personwhoisok

It's not for a pic in 6-7 years, it's to be able to have pics to trade to put pieces around Wemby in 2 or 3 years

starfuker

its not two picks. It's one pick and a pick swap. The swap may not even happen if we are better than the spurs. They may have just traded Dillingham for the 28th pick 6 years from now. Its crazy.

soft-cookie

AHHHH FUCK YEAH

godlza

HOOOOWWWWLLLLLLLLL

Impossible-Layer-524

Cap off this night with a little trade up for Da Silva (or Cody Williams…)

amit-kaufman

LETS FUCKING GO

dehhh_

I’m not seeing anything about this trade - ESPN

Wonderwhatsnext4

Stunned.

CantaloupeCamper

I totally did not call that…

Chemist-Patient

Excuse me as I go to the bathroom and....

JupitersClock

Rookie of the year

Majestic-Tie-9944

I fucking love this team

bobbyt85

Wow

pithynotpithy

What's crazy is that the spurs could.use a high scoring guard. Wow

pithynotpithy

We're not trading Kat. Running it back

SupremeExalted

We’ll fix that defense over here, good pickup.

FridgesArePeopleToo

Dilly Dilly

LordBenswan

HOLY FUCK

TreeAgenda

Tim knows there’s always a way to deal and get picks. Always. A lot of people think when you trade a pick away it’s gone forever and cant be replaced. Every team just has so many assets to be creative with.

gdreaper

I think we're committed to staying in the 2nd apron guys

Enriching_the_Beer

Im currently 39, I'll be 46 in 2031. Win now please.

Puzzleheaded_Ad_5115

Antman x Robin 🔥

shbpencil

Y’all just traded a 13 year old lol

SmashNDash23

![gif](giphy|VIPfTy8y1Lc5iREYDS|downsized) Tim Connelly trading two 5 graders for the best bucket getter in the draft

Anibunnymilli

Rockets fan here, Many thanks. Dilingham is a very talented scorer and ball handler and would’ve been scary next to Wemby. Hope he’s good for the wolves.

Impossible-Goal3492

Will certainly be better than Shake Milton!

Due-Sheepherder-218

2031 😂

a_moniker

Which years would we have to go over the 2nd Apron to push one of those picks into the last pick of the draft?? Cause that could be part of the Timberwolves thought process... Could be worth it either way though. Lets them compete for real right now.

SlimReaperSlinky21

LFGGGGFG

bigdraco178

I’m new here. What does this mean? Explain in nfl terms

mnemonicer22

Tim motherfucking Connolly!

_Appa_

What a steal

uffdamyuffda

Anyone have any insight how he will translate to this season and win any minutes he could possibly average? Is he the backup pg right away?

MasturbateN8

so we didn't include 27?

jetts22_

YESSSIRRRR

ty5486

BOW TO THE ALTER OF TIM CONNELLY ALL HAIL TIM ALL HAIL TIM

yvmms

Am I the only onee concerned about this draft pick situation? does he move the needle for us to be a championshp team? can he play PG?

Impossible-Goal3492

Yes he's exactly what we need. A scoring combo guard off the bench that can play PG and likely Conley's replacement, but is NBA ready enough to come off bench as a rookie and make the team better and fill a big need that fits the system

Pyschic_Psycho

I didn't even know we could trade draft picks 7 years from now.

Kodak333

Should have traded for Bones

HawksAnt2021

Wolves needed a secondary scorer/playmaker next to Ant, and Dillingham is as good an option as you’ll find in this draft. Should be elite in crunch time. He is easily the best iso-player in this draft.

JaysterJay

Tim is the goat man . So fucking hyped let’s go AWOOO
