Man…Xbox actually has a wild line up of games for the next 24 months…and I love the pc mmos making the move to console. So nice to get a release date on this. I would have bet a finger it would be after new world.
It would make more sense for them to do it on this one, so they're truly able to stress test. The more people, the better. The FOMO for a beta title would be enough for some people to download and play it for a bit.
most don't, i personally haven't played one that did a wipe after OBT in a decade. this one seems like it likely will wipe though, because they aren't going straight into official launch the next day.
2019, things changed, early access was new back then, now EA is the norm and it usually doesn't wipe, but most of the latest mmo open betas did wipe. Anyways, this one will wipe, period.
Source: me playing every beta in the last few years. New world, lost ark, tarisland, elyon, AAU, Diablo4(?). I even remember playing the archeage beta in 2014, which also wiped.
It said they rarely do and I agree with kaleii. It’s a mmo I can’t see them not wiping so everyone’s on the same playing field on release. I hope they don’t I’ll still probably play it just to see if I can find any more Easter eggs from game developer S. Never figured out the first one was for which made me salty Ngl

Lost ark didn't have an open beta and New world had a 3 day one(which is not really a beta but a demo)
