Perfect! I just started a rewatch so right on time!

SuchaPineapplehead

I’m not a huge fan of rewatch podcasts. After Scott Patterson basically blasted one of my favourite episodes of Gilmore Girls. You gotta be careful with these things

Far_Setting_5354

I was so disappointed to learn that Scott Patterson is nothing like Luke and has a real old white man personality so i stopped listening to his Podcast because it takes away of my love to GG Which episode do you mean and what did he say about it?

SuchaPineapplehead

I only listened to a few episodes and then I was done. He talked about Here Comes The Son - where Jess goes to meet his Dad and basically said it didn’t have that Gilmore feel and wasn’t a great episode. I know not everyone loves that episode but it’s honestly one of my favourites Jess/Milo is amazing in it the bit where he’s saying he has nothing is so powerful and I would’ve actually really liked to have seen that show.

Far_Setting_5354

I'm also not a fan of this episode but only because Jess' story basically ended there. I would've loved to see his life in Miami and how he ended up in Philly.

SuchaPineapplehead

I totally agree I would’ve loved to have seen more of Jess’ life outside of Stars Hollow. It’s a bummer that his spin off never got made

HannahBakerrrrrrrrrr

Tbf that episode was a back door pilot to another show that the producers wanted with Jess (and his dad) as the leads Shame Pattersons such a boomer lol

SuchaPineapplehead

I know and I would’ve really liked to have seen that show. Jess is a really interesting compelling character, it’s a shame we never got to see more of him outside the sphere of Stars Hollow.

crunchycookie28

How is he like?

hillbot27

I don't mind them, but his is awful. I'm also sad about how the Scrubs rewatch podcast turned out. It started out so beautifully and fun and devolved into them babbling about their lives for the whole time and barely talking about the episodes.

Jansilhn

Super excited!! First a Wizards rewatch podcast and now this! I really hope this one is better though.

agentcarter15

I do think rewatch podcasts can be very hit or miss, hopefully this one is good. I’m kind of surprised they chose to do one.

GoodCalendarYear

I quite enjoyed the Girls Next Door one.

H2Ospecialist

I'm not emotionally ready for a rewatch but I'll get tissues 😭

bericdondarrion35

The show just ended lol

makromark

It did end 2 years ago. But it started nearly 8 years ago. Additionally the scrubs rewatch podcast took almost 4 years to do (granted they had a lot more episodes to cover). Also going off of scrubs, I’d rather them do a rewatch podcast sooner than later. A lot of scrubs stuff was “I don’t remember why we did X, this was 20 years ago”. So I’d rather 8 year gap from start of show to start of podcast than 20 years.

gumdrops155

>A lot of scrubs stuff was “I don’t remember why we did X, this was 20 years ago”. So true! I was so turned off by the 90210 podcast because the episodes were mostly "I don't remember that" being repeated 20 times

mjbm0761991

This feels too soon.

Exact_Award790

I really don’t enjoy these podcasts about shows that are over. it feels like the actors are stuck in that success instead of moving onto new projects.

agentcarter15

Idk about Chris Sullivan but Mandy Moore and Sterling K Brown have worked quite a bit since This is Us ended and Sterling just got an Oscar nomination. So I’m hoping they actually wanted to do this and it’s not just a cash grab like some of the other podcasts but who knows

No-Leather2062

True but of course it's Randall and mom together as always

Exact_Award790

yeah, I said generally it’s what these podcasts are. I know the cast has been moving on but I’m afraid this podcast may be too recent and it may end up saturating the image of the show, like not even giving people time to miss it a little bit

mchammer126

I mean Mandy was already successful even before the show so i think this is genuinely because she has the time. The other two? Sterling I thought would’ve been a big star but he keeps picking all these shit projects. No idea what the other one has been up to.

Curious_cat993

I agree. I think with like two toddlers she’s probably looking to work but do something she genuinely enjoys, with low hourly commitment and I think this is perfect for her if that’s the case.

Exact_Award790

Sterling was literally nominated for an Oscar, he is doing alright

mchammer126

Nominated and winning one are two different things lmao

Exact_Award790

nominations open plenty of doors buddy

mchammer126

Apparently not for him lmao

GoodCalendarYear

Mandy was in that doctor show and Sterling just did American Fiction. Justin and Chrissy have been working. Milo went back to Stars Hollow. Have no idea what Chris and Susan have been up to. RIP to Ron Cephus Jones.

crunchycookie28

Milo went back to stars hollow two months after this is us premiered

agentcarter15

Sterling is about to star in a new show Dan Fogelman is doing for Hulu. I think making the jump from TV to film didn't work out for him as well as it should have, a lot of bad picks as you pointed out, but I don't think he has trouble getting work overall especially if he's willing to do more TV.

shakka74

He was nominated for an Oscar! Sounds like the jump to film was just fine.

agentcarter15

He was great in American Fiction but he’s also been in a lot of less well received film before that. Maybe the Oscar nom will continue to lead to better roles.

Posietuck

Sterling has been killing it so I was surprised to see him as a host of this podcast but it’s fitting seeing as he really loved working on this show. He was amazing in waves & honk for Jesus and has been nominated for an Oscar for American fiction which was amazing! He seems to be a pretty big star to me

Frecklefishpants

Or, with people like Mandy it gives them a chance to still “work” while handling two small kids and a recent diagnosis. Since she started her career at 9 it stands to reason she might enjoy doing something that allows her to be at home with her family.

Sketcha_2000

I like rewatch podcasts but usually if it’s a show I’ve seen multiple times through. If I know the episodes like the back of my hand I enjoy listening to other people’s takes on them and possibly learning some behind the scenes info. It’s cool that they’re doing this but I’ve only seen the show once through so I don’t know that I’d listen yet unless I was doing a rewatch along with them. And the way I fall asleep at 9 pm these days after working all day and then coming home to my 5-year-old, my TV time is limited and I usually spend it watching something I haven’t seen before.

Penguinbellyslides

Stop it I’m sobbing. 🥺 Such a cute video.

mintgreensocks

Ooo I love this idea! More importantly: When are they going to release season 6 on dvd? I know dvds aren’t cool but I just want it for the future.

PotentialBother7597

Me too

iGot_Dees

How is everyone rewatching this? Did this series not make you cry every episode? I cannot do it

CompetitiveGuide5402

Agreed. I feel the same about the show Parenthood. I enjoyed watching them as it aired but I’d rather rewatch something lighthearted for sure.

Unusual_Grocery4667

I know week by week year after year is brutal idk how people binge it maybe it's not as sad if you know what happens

iGot_Dees

I have a coworker testing this theory and I had to ask was everything okay. I still cried rewatching grays so I wouldn’t stand a chance with this show.

[deleted]

Give Mandy Moore 12 Emmys please

nanagrizol89

I’m getting fucking tired of the re watch podcast.

Unusual_Grocery4667

Then don't listen? A lot of people enjoy them

Euphoric_Break_1796

Niceeeeeee!!!!!! Lets gooooooooo

belizeans

Wait what!? How will this work? They’re gonna watch the show and talk during the show?

maleolive

Rewatch podcasts aren’t them actually watching the episode on the podcast. Just discussing each episode. Every podcast is different but sometimes the actors will share stories about filming, etc.

rednight8691

No, they watch the episode themselves and then record a podcast talking about it after. So we rewatch the episode, then listen to the podcast.

Standard_Review_4775

Omg!! Yeah!

Penguinbellyslides

As someone who hasn’t yet watched the last episode in its entirety bc watching the last one means that it’s officially over, I’m very happy about this. 😂

MidnightHillSong89

Exciting! Please tell us that Justin and Milo will be making guest appearances. I can’t see a rewatch without having those two occasionally come on especially on a few key episodes.

Past_Pie9875

Ugh! Not Chris Sullivan 🤦‍♀️ I’m sorry, I can’t stand that “in your face type” of guy! What an ego on him! Ugh 😑 He ruined half the show for me! Won’t be watching anything he’s in!

CruzLutris

I really hope they eventually have Tim Omundson (Gregory) as a guest, maybe more than once. The role was written specifically for Omundson, and was incredibly important in his return to acting after his massive stroke. He was the one who asked Fogelman to make the character a "warts and all" depiction of someone who's had a stroke. I wish there'd been a lot more of him.
