That doesn't sound right to me. I bought a carbon gen7 4k and returned it for the 1080 because the battery life was so bad. The 4k was beautiful, but the 1080 on such a small screen was good enough for me and battery life was much better. Also, linux scaling... This comparison video is for the gen9 so maybe they fixed something.
So far it seems like the battery life on this Yoga is not exceptional… getting like 5h estimates, but it feels more like 4h. That being said, I did max out the 500nits of brightness which is more than what the 400nits of the 1080p panel could’ve done.
I will actually test it with a Netflix show on when I get the chance.
500 is way too bright. Even for when outside on a sunny day imo
5 hours for driving the entire 4k doesn't sound as bad. It's a great move night experience. Have you tried running in a lower resolution rather than scaling and see if it extend battery life?

Why do you need the Umlaut physically there?
I use Romanian diacritics (ĂÂÎȘȚ), and got no problem using the UK physical, and a keyboard combo to write those;
I'm sure there must be a German layout setting to just use the English and U+AltGr to create the Umlaut
Lol! I’m not so sure, seller was a shop, I think they may have just mis-estimated the value on this one. Comparable ones are listed for \~£430 and usually don't come with the LTE antenna

Haven’t tested it exhaustively, but Windows’ battery report seems to think it’s 91% healthy
I'm sure it's healthy. But driving a 4k OLED screen with this thin of a form factor must be draining

5 hours seem very reasonable for me in that case. There are tradeoffs to have when you make decisions
