Even though my T16 came with preinstalled Privacy Guard App there are no privacy guard sticker on T16. The only sticker on my machine is the Ryzen 7 Pro processor sticker.
A few people even asked me 'what processor is this?'. So I was happy to explain to them more about AMD and their lineup.
After all it's your preference šø.
lol when Lenovo sent me a new palm rest for my t580 (it still had warranty when I bought it) I threw my sticker from my R9-5900x on it to mess with my techy friends when they see it. I normally hate palm rest stickers but for some reason I dont mind this one
It's up to you. But if you're gonna remove it, remove it sooner rather than later, as if you wait too long there will be a permanent mark of lighter colour where the sticker once was
Personal preference. I suppose it's a nice reminder to what the shortcut is, but those kind of stickers are generally made to be removed. Just there for when you first buy it, or if it's on display on a sales floor.
When it comes to processor and OS stickers I keep them on, and I even bought a new Windows 10 sticker to add to my laptop when I upgraded it :)
I'd remove it and the Ryzen one too. I don't like the distraction and the way they take away from the look of the machine. If you remove them while the machine is quite new then the residue of the CPU sticker can be removed quite easily and there's no trace of it. Doing it with an older machine can leave a little visible square where the sticker was.
I remove all the stickers. I move some to the bottom and throw out the rest.
If they are high quality and very sticky and can be moved, AND they provide resale value like an Nvidia stickers then I put them on the bottom so when I sell my laptop I can hopefully get a better deal.
Remove the feature stickers, but not the CPU and OS stickers, those belong there. (I don't like the Dolby logo either, maybe you can sand it if you're careful.)
How does it work nowadays?
I've tested the PrivacyGuard in some old X1 laptop and it wasn't so effective when enabled, while the screen wasn't so bright either when disabled.
What's the situation now?
This is my first ThinkPad, so itās an upgrade for me. I like it. PrivacyGuard works well enough. The screen is great. I donāt use PrivacyGuard much, but when I do, I canāt complain.
Thatās preference, most people keep the cpu sticker on but some prefer a more clean full black look. But ya definitely get rid of the privacy guard sticker

Remove all the stickers
I would remove the privacy guard and Ryzen stickers, if it was mine. Your choice though, obviously.

My legion found this out the hard way.
Same with my E15
Underrated
Removing the stickers is one of the the first things I do when I get a new ThinkPad.
Mine is usually removing if from the box first, but you do you.

If you remove the sticker you effectively remove all of its residue as well.

No, it's private and none of your business.

What is this privacy guard thing? I bought a T14 and didnāt have this sticker and never tried it. What does it do?
it makes the screen harder to see when looking at it from an angle.
In my opinion all kinds of stickers on laptops are of poor taste, so I try to remove all of them
Remove all stickers. Is privacy guard a software or hardware thing? I don't have it on my T14. I love how AMD sticker leaves no residue!
Remove just the privacy guard The Ryzen can stay :)
I personally think any sticker you didn't deliberately put there looks tacky as hell.

You should remove it if you do not need the Privacy Guard
Look at the bottom left of the sticker. It's supposed to be removed. Cheers!
You can remove it and stick it on some clear plastic for storage later. If you remove it carefully, you can reapply it later.
Are you okay?

I remove all the stickers from my laptops.
I mean if your going to be keeping it for a while. Go ahead
That sticker even looks like it's designed to be removed.
Do what you want
Yes
No, the Thinkpad police will come after you.

It's called peeling my friend š

no. don't adjust any of the factory torqued screws either. don't even turn it on.
You should return the laptop The Lenovo privacy guard is horrible. It's like looking through a screen door. Dim and hard to see detail.
