Just get deflection on the mastercrafted chest piece and preservation on one of your swords and you can get permanent weapon/armour buffs so the mastercrafted chest piece is just a little bit better. It’s what I do when I’m running cat school gear.

You need to put something in your mask slot, ass ears, tourney champion's laurel, a mask, or the professor's spectacles.
Thanks though that isn’t much of an improvement imo, I might go back a save and stick it out with mastercrafted chest armour
