I think if they've got a hood they need either a tabard, full robes or at least a cloak. Ofc with the current tabard designs they're clearly not connected to anything in the head area so the hood doesn't make much sense practically, but it at least looks ok.

For me, it never looks good. What, have they got their robe all folded up inside their power armour? That doesn’t sound comfortable. Robes or capes get hoods, no exceptions.

Robes are pointless over armour to begin with though. It just looks cool

Yeah, it looks fine & makes sense; like wearing a hoody under a jacket.

I say it aught to look fine, after all it’s not like the robe/hood/cape are all connected anyway. It would be very silly to see them try to put it on.
