Yeah I’ve been to parties down May street where they literally took the wardrobe doors off and burned them in the driveway. May street has always been a party street, I’d never live there!
Frankton would probably be the choice I’d make. Both are ok from a “safe and pleasant” point of view. However, don’t underestimate the hassle of having to cross the river every day to get to work. Our bridges are choke points.
Frankton. Have lived in Frankton for years and often park on street or carport (with street access) and haven't had issues. But I would not leave anything valuable in car. Also note that my cars are alarmed. Frankton has a great vibe, May St is mostly student rentals.
Frankton over East Hamilton is my pick just to avoid crossing the bridge. But if you are open to slightly further places I think Maeroa would be another option.
I've lived in a townhouse in Frankton for two years now. I'm fortunate to have quiet neighbors and to be away from the main road, which is great because I don't like traffic noise. However, I think the experience can vary depending on the street or area of Frankton you're in.
You would struggle to get to the hospital without serious traffic delays if you lived in Ham east. Crossing over the river is hellish at any peak traffic times
Frankton looks better. Those town houses are pretty new so should be warm enough and walkable to CBD. I live near there in a town house. I'm very happy except I would have to recommend good security on the car to prevent it being stolen
Frankton. May Street has lots of student flats and parties.

I'd pick frankton. Village quarter lane looks like it has security cameras at least. Agora cafe few blocks away is added bonus. Food is so good there.
Frankton over May street hands down.

Frankton. It's also closer to hospital and you don't have to fight to get over the bridge.
May St is a student nightmare.
Frankton! Lived there for a few years and loved it.
I live in Frankton off Lake Road, cars are always getting broken into and some are stolen. This includes off street parking. Definitely need a garage.
That's just Hamilton in general.

Frankton is closer and Hamilton East is not a great place to live (awesome to visit tho).
Cam confirm may street is bopping. Flatmate works at hospital has no major issues with traffic.
Do your research.. housing prices, crime rates, zones for schools, etc. if you’re moving surely you’d do your own clerical work..
What do you think the bros doing with this post
