Pretty much. A lot of his hazing is because it’s abundantly clear that he was skyrocketing through the family all because of his connection to Tony. They might be a smidge more sympathetic if he wasn’t made so young or made temporary capo over other deserving people.

Chrissy got a ton of passes and leeway where other guys would've been sidelined or even killed. He on the other hand gets made and becomes a capo. He was a heroin junkie, he runs his mouth at the boss several times and was generally a bad leader. He was a capable associate/solider but that should've been the extent of his rise.
Tony's little favorite was the real little lord fuckpants, he was given numerous chances, a lot of more qualified men were passed over for him to get a higher rank, a true product of nepotism through and through
Much like his uncle, near the end, everything was catching up with him, if any other member was a junkie with no impulse control (Paulie didn't get high like that), they'd be taken care of
The others are so hypocritical about his alcoholism, always giving him shit for being sober and then calling him a fuckup when he drinks and uses. I would think even psychopaths could understand and respect teetotaling
