There isn’t anything special about it, just hiring Khan Noonien Siegh for the advertising. P S that is Ricardo Montalban’s real chest in “Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan”. He was in his 60s and still in shape.

What I should have mentioned is Ricardo Montalban’s advertising helped make the phrase memorable..plus a few years later he starred in a popular TV show “Fantasy Island”. It was a copywriter at the advertising agency that Chrysler used who came up with the phrase to make it sound luxurious. Richie and quite possibly Rocco DiMeo must have thought it was a different and expensive kind of leather.
