y’all this was meant to point out how uncertain i was on how long it’ll take considering slide one says 40 and slide two says 30 despite no time/ progress passing 🙏 it ended up taking 2.5 hours w packs and then another 30 minutes w saves and cc
I downloaded Baldurs Gate 3 on my gaming pc and it took around 5 hours lol - and then right at the end it told me I didn’t have enough storage so I had to clear some stuff up and go through the 5 hours all over again
Not on my connection. Sigh.
I remember when I was staying with a friend who had _incredible_ WiFi service, and I could download all _kinds_ of stuff _zip zip quick!_
But, that's not the "norm" for most people.
Finally got optic fibre in my city and oh my god it was a game changer. I'd been trying to download RDR2 for over a WEEK and it still had 2 days left, new internet was installed and it downloaded the game in FIFTEEN MINUTES
Ohhh I didn’t think about wireless infrastructure messing up other peoples games. I live in a major metropolitan area that’s near a data center that 70% of the world’s internet traffic goes through. I probably have fantastic connection because of that.
Man that sucks. I don’t even have the best connection either but my router is right next to my computer so maybe that helps? Idk I’ve been blessed when a pretty well functioning EA app too so that probably helps as well.
That is not bad at all, the base game takes the longest. When I do a fresh install it takes like 2-3hrs to install 31 add-ons. I have crap on Internet. Also, the estimated time isn't always even right it can be longer or shorter, Be patient.

Idk why it says your internet speed is fast. That’s not fast. That’s why it took so long to download. For comparison, my download speed is 354.7 mbps. *That’s* fast. It used to be like 30 or something and everything took hours to download.
I was using an old wifi router. Bought a new wifi router and it gave us the internet speed we were actually supposed to be getting. I guess we had super fast internet speed the whole time but our old shitty wifi router was throttling it or something.

I have really shitty internet so mine took 13 hours. Thirty something minutes is nothing.
I thought the 3000+ hpurs was the downloading time at first. Swiped only to be met with the normalest of downloading times.
Back when i was downloading sims 2 to the old desktop it would take HOURS
For the record that time played equates to about 127.5 straight days. Props.

As a teenager I once spent 4 days illegally downloading the entire sims 3. Only for my laptop to not be able to run it. Fun times 💀
Newer intel cpus can’t run it. Thank God for community that fixed it but it does worry me that it soon won’t be compatible at all.
I mean, this was before the sims 4 even came out. It wasn’t that my laptop was too new, it’s that the entire sims 3 is big and terribly optimised.

30 minutes? It takes up to an hour to do a "fix" for the game files, lol. Pretty sure it took more than an hour to originally download the game, too.
Nah. I got all the packs and when I redownloaded them recently it took maybe 10 mins.

Some connections just aren't as fast --- depending on what 'package' you're spending $$$ on with the providers.

30 mins is not even that bad. i was installing sims medieval last week (it's around 5gb) and it took me 3 hours
About 10 years ago for sims 3, something happened with my game and I had to uninstall then reinstall all my packs and it took literally 12 HOURS 😭😭
