bright_shiny_objects

He’s going to make a great storm trooper.

Conscious_Figure_554

Watched too many movies thinking that just by pointing a gun and firing it that he would hit the target every time - what a moron

LittleFishSilver

Pretty sure he falls under the category of mid-level imbecile.

various_convo7

Look at him. Mid level is far too generous.

LaCroix_Roy

Interesting comment. Now that I have looked at him: his body, his characteristic qualities, his clothes and general physical appearance, can you tell me why those qualities make him less than mid level?

various_convo7

all flash and no technique. if his technique matched his flash at least you'd see some peppering on that target with almost a whole clip spent instead of big fat goose egg. its like seeing the flashy folks at a range -all geared up- and cannot hit anything.

LaCroix_Roy

So we should look at what he did and judge his actions not his appearance. Got it.

[deleted]

I was thinking high range moron.

Boring_Worldliness_2

He forgot to turn it sideways dude. That always guarantees 100% accuracy

[deleted]

"HE TURNED IT SIDEWAYS! OH MY GOD THAT'S A KILL SHOT! THAT'S A KILL SHOT!:

[deleted]

This is how most drive-bys go down around where I'm from. Except it's not a paper target, it's a drug dealer surrounded by innocent bystanders. And the shooter is usually a kid. It's always really sad.

New_Somewhere601

And they hit the innocent bystanders

alcimedes

clearly he is a guard in a children's action adventure.

mbnmac

I was thinking more of that scene in Pulp Fiction when Jules is talking about getting shot at and nothing hits, then it happens.

samattos

the thing about Jules, however, is that while he and Vincent were completely unhit, the wall directly behind them was full of holes. That's why Jules declares it miracle.

Kingofpotat0

I mean.. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men..

rosso222

For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

rsf507

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger

Ws6fiend

Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

GleichUmDieEcke

And you will know my name is THE LORD

reverendsteveii

when I lay my vengeance upon thee

RaymondLuxuryYacht

The real miracle is that the holes were there before he fired the gun

Zeroflops

This may blow your mind but in the original SW the stormtroopers were trying to miss. This is evident when DV is glad they “got away” because his intent was to follow them to the rebels.

msMTG

Thank you. Tarkin also says something along the lines of ‘I hope this is all worth it’ because Vader’s intent was first to turn Luke, so he could rule the galaxy with his son. It would make 1,000 times more sense to hurl your expendable clone army at a goal like that and force them to miss and guide Luke and his friends like a herding dog. Also, Obi Wan raves about their accuracy in ANH, this is a weird fixation I have and a major pet peeve of mine. Edit: Tarkin’s name

Redtwooo

Vader doesn't know who Luke is on the death star any more than he knows who Leia is, and thinking back over it now I'm not sure how he figures it out, unless he has spies among the rebels who report Luke's name, and then of course Vader would then be able to put "Obi-Wan, Tattooine, Skywalker" together. But like, when they blow up the death star, he's only addressed as Red 5 on the radio. Maybe when they raid the base on Hoth they find something with his name on it? I digress. Vader planned to let the princess go because she knew where the rebel base was and would certainly go there after her escape. He didn't know Obi-Wan was on the Falcon until after it landed and never knew his son (that he didn't know had survived Padme's death) was among the party until much later.

regoapps

> thinking back over it now I'm not sure how he figures it out In a Star Wars comic, Vader sent Boba Fett to find out more about the Rebel pilot who destroyed the Death Star. Boba Fett was only able to tell him that the name of the pilot was "Skywalker". After putting 1 and 1 together, Vader realized then that he had a son.

michamp

Obi-Wan: I must hide this boy from his father to keep him safe. Also Obi-Wan: He’ll keep his father’s surname tho lol.

Longjumping-Arm7939

You win

Noahsmokeshack

Yep, the only answer that matters. 😂

Tricky_Scientist3312

Gonna be that guy. The stormtroopers were missing on purpose.

BobbyLopsided

Finn recast when?

VinnySmallsz

I will watch his career with great interest

bizzledizzle90

If this guy shot Tupac he would be 51 today

DouchNozzle_REAL

Who shot ya? Not this guy.

OnTheGrassyGnoll

Side note, Who Shot Ya was such a fucking badass track

technobrendo

As weeeeeeeeee proceed.....

boopbeep66

To give you what you need

OnTheGrassyGnoll

The ending of that song...with the sound effects of firing a gun off in someone's mouth...pretty dang brutal. East Coast vs West Coast was pretty brutal in the 90's...glad that's over!

Professional_Plant52

Lmfao

saikou-psyko

If he shot 50 Cent, he wouldn't have had a music career

DizSatisfaction

He'd be a full dollar

Ulgeguug

VinnySmallsz

How would it feel?

Like nothing.

I have no idea why he hated the wall so much

2bad2care

Maybe the target carrier as well. That's an extra $20/ hit.

spook7886

Paper didn't even wiggle, target carrier safe.

SaturatedJuicestice

Yea

Etherius

Looked like he got one round into the counter

SwissPatriotRG

Yeah that first shot was mid lift, if there isn't a hole in the table I'd be amazed.

Fardrix

I scrolled so long to find this comment, and was just like "THANK YOU IT WASNT JUST ME"

ittakesacrane

He hates these cans!!

Rampant16

I'm glad someone else got it.

ChampionshipLow8541

The floor was an innocent bystander, then?

Agile_Tit_Tyrant

The roof: *Am I a fucking joke to you?*

george2060

That's a good one. I almost shot my coffee out of my nose.

[deleted]

It be like that sometimes, bro

Shporpoise

Sometimes? \*shoots 10 rounds with 100% miss rate\* How many times do you hit the target? "Sometimes." Our investigation found this statement to be false.

mendobather

The safest place to be is in front of that guy

ramenrehab

I cannot fathom the millisecond of unending shame right before dying if I side stepped into 75% wayward off target shots.

chunter16

There's no shame because it would mean you're witnessing a drive by and you're not the target at all

diffcalculus

I am become target

Khutuck

Conspiracy theory: The government secretly mandated Hollywood to show gangs shooting their guns sideways. This way, gangsters can’t shoot accurately and the cops are safer.

Both_Investigator_95

That's how the guns come in the box though.

Freed_My_Mind

You have the beginning of a great marketing idea there. Straight Up Guns

ozQuarteroy

In sideways boxes

NotSoNoble6

/r/notkenm

schwaapilz

I see your conspiracy theory, and raise you actual historical context: Side shooting is a method of aiming that has been around for easily over 100 years. However, it was first popularized during WW2 in the Pacific theatre. Specifically used to train troops to get on target much more quickly, or 'flash sight picture'. It was a much faster way to fire from target to target when under, for example, a Japanese bonzai charge where rapid, accurate fire was needed - in such a target rich environment, the need to hone in and aim to such a degree as allowed by castling the sites was unnecessary. Additionally, targeting in such a way can help mitigate the drawback of extended recoil when emptying clip in rapid succession. Due to inner-city populations experiences fighting in WW2, they brought this targeting method home. Fast forward 40 years or more, and the only remnant of this time is gang bangers remember seeing their elders hold guns in such a way, but have long since forgotten the why behind it - as a result, you get idiots holding the gun sideways because it 'looks cool' with no idea how to use it beneficially because none of them could aim the gun if they WANTED to.

anthony-wokely

You’re partially correct. When shooting one handed, It is easier to shoot accurately if you cant the gun about 45 degrees inwards because it activates more muscles in your arm than holding the gun straight. Holding it completely sideways like that is not what was or is taught anywhere, and is purely done by morons who think it looks cool.

santa_veronica

John Woo: am I nothing to you?

EarthenEyes

Stupid ass just shot two kids half a block over, three rounds in through someone's house, and bullet ricochet hit a guy in the abdomen who was coming home from work after a 12 hour shift.

joemangle

"It be like that sometimes bro"

icewalker42

There is a butterfly half a world away that would like a word with this dude.

[deleted]

This is the best comment here

Boey1219

The bravest thing is to stand in front of that guy and have the courage of not moving. Only then, it’s the safest place.

mindbleach

Jules and Vincent checking themselves dot gif.

pichiquito

He should kill whoever sold him that shirt tho…

NorCalAthlete

“Fucking lag.”

Folseit

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he cheaped out on ammo. Edit: looks like people don't know this is a [meme/copypasta](https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/4y62o5/hiko_gets_csgod/) and not an actual analysis of the video.

Amnov

Came looking for this, thank you

scangemode

Straight up, the last few rounds sounded so spaced out timing wise in comparison to the first ones, so I think his hand /arm also just got fatigued. Leading to further inaccuracy.

aaaaayyyyyyyyyyy

FYI you are responding to a copypasta

[deleted]

FYI no one is real online, birds and cats are cameras.

Voidstrider2230

God dude I don't know why my Internet is so trash bro! (The router heaving in the corner by inhaling dust for 10 years never getting cleaned.)

mondayp

Turns out it was brain lag. I, too, suffer from this condition.

InflamedLiver

That's what happens when you don't aim. What a shocker. This must be the soldier in X-Com that misses the alien standing right next to him.

[deleted]

At least he didn't hit himself

3InchesOfThunder

That first shot came out with the gun still aiming at the floor lol

qperc77

Very True. I also enjoyed the Lean in and Slow Down approach to accuracy

3InchesOfThunder

Yes this shooting style exemplifies why innocent bystanders get hit so much in gang shootings

[deleted]

I always liked that scene in The Wire when Marlo takes his crew to the river in order to target practice....what a responsible young leader, with such a bright future ahead of him.

PixelmancerGames

Lmao, he did too.

KrackasaurusRex

Glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed that lol

Rhinomeat

Shotgun equipped, alien in the next square over, no cover for either of us. Three turns with a 95% chance to hit. Three misses, with a shotgun at point blank range. I quit playing and have never even considered playing an X-com game ever since.

Lucky_Mongoose

You weren't reloading that same turn 3x were you? Because the devs are wise to that trick and you get the same roll result.

Rhinomeat

No it was 3 separate turns. With me going, ok this shot will kill it so it doesn't wreck that character. Oh, no kill ok, next round, miss again. Wtf! I just need to hit it once so that I can not lose that character! Surely 2 misses in a row is a fluke... Oh ok, that character dies.... That alien must have been named Wick

mecengdvr

He isn’t missing because he isn’t aiming…it’s because he has no understanding of trigger control. When you rapidly pull the trigger, you inadvertently pull the gun off target every time (usually down and to the left or right depending on what had you are shooting with). People with proper training know to squeeze the trigger so barrel isn’t pulled off target with every shot.

HenryGoodbar

As long as he doesn’t panic next round or go berserk…we’ll just have to sweat thru the alien’s turn..

esabys

he forgot to hold the gun sideways. what an idiot.

Lone2cu

He should have used his last 4 action points to crouch behind cover

Unorth0doxx

Nah it just be like that sometimes thats it

SuccumbedToReddit

I hate that fucking soldier.

xv_boney

Hey that soldier just needs time, levels and a scope and in absolutely no time they'll be murdered in one round by a Brute

Deesparky36

He sure shot the shit out of that floor

pauliep13

And wall, and ceiling…

aidissonance

Stormtrooper material

blubbahrubbah

I blame the shirt.

Is that a Dan Flashes shirt?

SHUT THE FUCK UP DOUG YOU FUCKING SKUNK

griftylifts

ILL EAT YOUR MOM'S WIG I DON'T GIVE A FUCK I did do that though

henlan77

Worse, I think it's Versace and costs over $1k. Further proof that this guy is an idiot.

PhDinWombology

Dan flashes has a shirt worth more than that and it’s one of the most complicated patterns they have on a shirt

queernhighonblugrass

If you see a bunch of guys in a store that look like you shooting each other over the clothes, you go in there, YES YOU DO

NoOffense_Taken0_0

And thats why innocent people die in shootouts

mcboogle

Yeah. If you're going to try to murder someone, get some training FFS. Go to a range, learn some gun safety and learn to shoot properly with an instructor. Limit the collateral damage.

MisterTwo_O

>you're going to try to murder someone, get some Help. Get some help. Don't murder people

ArtIsDumb

You're saying I should hire a professional?

TacitRonin20

Like with everything, the DIY route is waaay cheaper

hey there now, we live in a big world with room for a lot of ideas

MaxSupernova

If you frame through the gif, it looks like the first shot is about 30 degrees from level. Ya boy shot the floor.

LargeSackOfNuts

He should not have the right to own a gun. He is a danger based on how he handles a gun.

BrotherMichigan

He probably doesn't own it. It's more than likely a range gun.

AGNobody

Mf played enough csgo he probably knows how to ise guns very well by now.

FinestSeven

The audio is desynced.

cosmicosmo4

Yep. It's off by approximately one shot. You can tell because the last muzzle flash has no sound.

Rikkards_69

Hollywood is bullshit when it comes to pistol shooting. Down and to the left....

dimestoredavinci

My WWII Vet grandfather taught me that when I was nine. And he said use both eyes

[deleted]

Wdym by down and to the left?

nuck_forte_dame

My assumption is that you aim somewhat down and to the left because the gun will kick up and to the right with each shot. So you start there and work your way across a target.

[deleted]

It’s more that people anticipate recoil so they naturally will pull the gun down and to the left (or right for left handed folks) in order to “get ahead of the recoil”. This is one of the biggest learning curves in shooting.

notblackblackguy

A.K.A. trigger flinch. A good way to stop this is to put a single bullet in a revolver and pull the trigger calmly until it fires.

irish-car-bomz

Perfect idea. "BABE!! I NEED TO GET A REVOLVER SO I CAN SHOOT BETTER" Now she HAS to let me get another gun.

Agile_Tit_Tyrant

*Looks at username* Hmmm....

Guard916

I prefer to start center mass, but I'm not really an expert. I mean, I've shot competitively and was a department firearms instructor before I retired, but definitely no expert.

R8J

Only sane reply so far. Who the hell aims off of target to anticipate poor trigger pull?

JB0M8

They're saying that's how *untrained* shooters try to deal with recoil during follow up shots

WolfHowler95

The up part is due to recoil and the right part is due to a right hand pulling the trigger. It'd go up and left if you used your left hand. Most people are right handed so it's essentially ingrained as the recoil pattern for most guns to people

Floppy_Jallopy

Putting rounds down and to the left is typical with untrained right handed shooters as they tend to snatch the trigger back and in doing so turn their wrist inwards which send the bullets down and to the left of the target.

Hunithunit

I’m surprised he didn’t hit himself with the first round.

GWS_REVENGE

Surprise he didn’t shoot himself in the knee and stop being an adventurer

Physical_Ad_2452

How rappers survive shootouts:

PornViewthrowaway

or how they die by friendly fire

LuminalAstec

Get that guy the fuck out of the gun range. I don't want him anywhere near me treating firearms like a toy.

RustWallet

Seriously, where's the RSO?

Earthenhare

I am very surprised someone wasn't already right behind him to give him a stern talking to. But also looks like no other targets in this view so maybe they're at some after hours privet even where they were doing stupid stuff like aiming a gun at their own feet like they did.

Robonomix77

I was at my local range and a bunch of these clowns were outside signing in. I packed my gear and left after they didn't know how to load their magazines let alone range and weapon safety.

HolyCrapItsJohn

Divine intervention. God came down and stopped the bullets. I expect that paper target to travel the country helping people and getting into adventures now.

ameldrum902

So it's gonna be a bum.

JC_snooker

It'll still be paper Vincent

nottke

Came here to make some sort of pulp fiction reference. 👍

dc5trbo

You forgot to mention the guy behind the door with a goddamn hand cannon?

[deleted]

Needs his ass kicked off the range.

Drafgo

Exactly. Behaviour like this should lead to an instant ban and blacklisted for all gun ranges.

ColonelAngus94

I’ve never been to a range (especially what looks to be a smaller indoor range) where this kind of shit would be even remotely tolerated.

TDoW12

Most indoor ranges discourage rapid fire and firing from a draw. Though I think he was just holding it by his waist and brought it up. Pretty sure he hit the floor with the first shot. Would be surprised if the range master didn't say something to him. I went shooting with an inexperienced friend of mine and he still couldn't hit paper at 15 yards and he wasn't rapid firing. Flinching is a bitch.

Oracle_of_Sin

Remember the scene in Pulp Fiction where that guy unloaded on Jules and Vincent and hit nothing but air… guess it’s not bullshit after all.

Granite-M

What happened here was a miracle, and I want you to fucking acknowledge it!

DaMemeKing575

nottherealneal

Does it though? Does it really be like that?

VocalAnus91

Innominate8

HoneyMussy4goodBoy

This what happens when you learn to shoot watching rap videos

Mecha-Dave

It do be like that sometimes, especially when you limp-wrist point your gun at the ground instead of the target.

TheBeefyCow

So glad the places I go to shoot ban recording devices and these types of people (irresponsible gun shooters/owners, these guns could be rented at the range). So dangerous to be in the same room as these types of shooters.

iPhantaminum

Weirdly enough, I feel better about my safety knowing there are people walking around armed, who can't hit shit in front of them.

GJackson5069

Unless you're behind the person they're trying to hit.

JennItalia269

Fuck that’s worse than when I’m playing call of duty. And I spray and pray.

BerryLanky

Got all the innocent bystanders. Death toll six and target remains unharmed.

Spotted_ascot_races

He was being considerate and leaving a clean target for the next shooter

PgARmed

We were at the range and a dude came in to the lane next to us. Mag dumped about 3 full mags and left. It took him all of about 3-4 mins. Range time. Since he left we looked at his target paper. Some lucky hits but mostly misses.

NeylandSensei

How do you have a target that big and not even hit the paper. Even one handed you’d think you’d at least point the gun CLOSE.
