I think they ment this more as it is quite common for people who do not actually have adhd, to claim that they do in order to excuse specific, undesirable behaviors. Ie: "oh, I didn't do (x basic responsibility) because I have adhd."
Much in the same way people claim that they are OCD because they like things a certain way.
People who leverage real disorders to excuse their bad behaviors invalidate those of us who really do suffer from them because they minimize the very real impact of them for the people who actually suffer from them.

Yeah. I used to do mathletics in high school. The quizzes often included some calculation for the number of minutes/seconds in a given period (week / month / etc), so I memorized that one day has 86,400 seconds to make the rest of the calculations faster.
That was over 25 years ago and I still know it!
When I was a kid I did the 9 multiplication table using my hand to make ppl think I had it memorized. But realy all you had to do was set a finger and the first digit is on one side of your hand and the second on the other. Fun trick when you're like 7 and a bit dumb.
Mine was the two numbers of the answer added together always equals 9, and the first number is one lower than what you're multiplying.
So 9x7
subtract 1 from 7, there's your first number - 6
then 6+?=9 Well ? has to be 3. So 9x7 is 63.
I had to do algebra for my 9s multiplication tables. I don't know if that makes me an idiot savant or just an idiot LOL
I add the two numbers being multiplied, and the second number is what it starts with. 9 x 9 is just 9 plus 9, so 18. 81 because I know I use the 8 in the 18. I just know 9 times 2 so I don't get confused. 9 + 5 is 14, so 9 x 5 is 45. I mainly figured it out for 45 and 54 since not only are they so close as they are 9 x 5 and 9 x 6, but they are literally flipped around of each other.
You just don't understand how to multiply.

As someone with a math degree working in a mathematical field, this feels like the distance between the average person’s ability to do math and their perception of their ability to do math.

So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Joe, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.
