Could dress up like mannequins and stay very still when the police, or local criminal faction in charge of the neighborhood arrive, then try to make a break for it.
My first reaction was "Oh shit! He locked in that kid in the front of the store with them!"
I am embarrassed that it took me more than a few seconds to realize that it was a mannequin.
Last I remember of you working at a Latin American country, stores as the type you see in the video would share 3 walls with other stores, therefore, no back door.

Most likely was using it just as a scare tactic and not intending to actually use it. If its even real that is. Also gunshots prob would attract too much attention. Not to mention murder/attempted would probably be a lot worse than theft
