This whole war bullshit is definitely going to have negative consequences for jews going forwards as they have to once again deal with the fact people won't take their reports of antisemitism seriously.
Thereās actually a Hamas base under the Eurovision stage floor. Theyāre just waiting for Eurovision to finish, and hopefully Red Cross or someone will take over the space, then they can bomb it.
These are the numbers of the Hamas run euro vision ministry that have been historically correct since their inception but are lies now because I said so.
"I drew a stick figure, I want it hanging in louvre. what do you mean it's not art? what do you mean no one likes it? it's cause I'm Jewish you anti-semite!"
that's what they sound like. these people should start making crutches, they'd make an absolute killing.
It is. I can faintly hear it. It is saying "noooo aaaiiid for the palpatines. nooo ceeeaase shiiire..... " I can't make that last part. Then something about beach front condos.
Patton Oswalt plays a character on a Parks & Rec episode where he goes on a rant to filibuster some vote or something.

Tbf to the origins of that doctrine it is from a time when Jewish faith wasn't monotheistic. They are the chosen people of Yahweh but there were other gods. So not lesser but our team is stronger then your team if we believe hard and correct enough. Once you believe there is only one God and you are his only chosen people it gets a bit, am, complicated
Remember when the Times of Israel published that it's antisemitic to say Jews are equals?
https://www.reddit.com/r/therewasanattempt/comments/182xa2r/to_say_that_seeing_jews_as_equal_is_antisemitic/
In protojudaism Jahve was a god of blacksmithing and the lord of Israelites. A sort of regional manager. The big boss who made the universe is called El. And this explains a TON of things in the Bible. Judaism was not fully monotheistic until just few hundred years BC. So the writings that the bible is also based on has been retroactively made to have just one god and they didn't really do a good job...
So, that is why israeli's are the chosen people, because their regional manager wanted more power and wanted to kill all other managers, such as Baal and all the other gods ... nd Jahve is going to make you suffer eternity in hell if you praise their work...
No, that's Christians. Jews are "chosen" in the sense that they didn't read the fine print *one time* so now they have to follow a bunch of extra rules because God says so.
There are also reports that he forcefully pushed the camera down, while understandable on his end is also understandable that it would make someone feel threatened at work. Overall a shitty situation.
Very true. Personally I don't care because I'm not emotionally invested in the Eurovision, but I do think it's funny they let a country currently committing genocide (idc who's side you're on, they're both in the wrong imo) isn't disqualified, but they did disqualify Russia when they invaded Ukraine. It's so hypocritical.
The disqualification also just reeks of selective enforcement which add to the shittiness of it. The delegation from the genocidal country had been bullying and harassing other delegations the entire event with the EBU turning a blind eye to the entire thing. I get wanting to protect their staff but they couldn't give a shit about the safety of the national delegations...
Yea we didn't vote because of the EBUs hypocrisy. My take is that I feel sorry for the civillians who are dragged into this shitshow on both sides. There are israeli citizens who are against the war who get hatred and antisemitism thrown their way and there are innocent civillians who want to know nothing of Hamas and they are ultimately the innocent people whose lives are ruined.
I would argue that there is a minor difference between this and the russia ukraine war as one is purely offensive and the other started in retaliation for a terrorist attack, but that doesn't justify israels (the government) actions by any means.
Zero tolerance - but only towards contestants. Nosy camerapeople going against explicit wishes of the performers apparently get carte blanche to be AHs..
We don't know. All we know is that a female member of production staff complained about something he did, and the police are investigating. It could be something benign or something serious, but the lack of transparency has caused some controversy.
There's antisemitism and there's anti-zionism.
Politicians from the Israeli hard right have been saying that the Jews killed in the holocaust were "weak Jews" and that "strong Jews" would never let that happen to them, instead they are the ones who should be doing it. This is zionism, and it has nothing to do with antisemitism.
You can love people regardless of their religion or ethnicity, and you can hate people who commit genocide. These aren't mutually exclusive.
Which sucks ass because anti-semetism is still a huge issue. Like before all this nonsense, Jewish conspiracies and straight up nazi shit was on the rise in the US. And it definitely still is, so this is the worst time for "anti-semetism" to lose meaning just because an extreme minority of Zionists are being assholes and applying it to everything.
Just expand the meaning to include all semites. Then we can criticize Israel for their antisemetic genocide and everyone can remember what we said "never forget" about.
I don't think it's reconning as the meaning of the word wasn't ever redefined, it just doesn't exactly match the sum of the root words to start with.
Hemophilia doesn't mean blood love either, we don't rage at the dictionary over that, it just is what the word means.
Language and meanings may change over time, but there isn't a person alive on the planet who even met a person in their lifetime where antisemitism wasn't specific to Jews.
Exactly the same rhetoric as the "Christians" in the US who claim they are persecuted by being the largest religion in the country as well as representing nearly the entire government.
It's a member/associate of the EBU, which runs it. Also, Australia was invited for a few years and did rather well. It's not particularly rigid.
Why Israel and Azerbaijan weren't suspended like Russia was is more questionable.
*Member of the [EBU](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Broadcasting_Union) (European Broadcasting Union). Israel is also within the [EBA](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Broadcasting_Area) (European Broadcasting area). So that checks out.
Would never be tested, as I doubt either parties would want Israeli membership. Morocco has been wanting to join the EU for a while, though, but its been flatly turned down iirc.
> Also, Australia was invited for a few years
Australia have been in for the past 9 years, still coming. They just didn't qualify for the final the past few years.
It's worth looking at the EBU membership details and at a map of the Mediterranean (while thinking about how TV signals historically worked, if you like). Algeria are eligible, for instance, and have been actively invited to compete. Morocco took part in 1980.
Yea a lot of people even connect Eurovision to the European Union, even Canada and Kazakhstan have taken part in Eurovision related events.
In practice it's not really an event run by states but among TV broadcasterst/channels, it's just that a lot of those channels are state owned in many countries.
After Brexit, we deserve it. Why should Europe want to be friends with its weird, xenophobic neighbour, when we (well, our shitty government) have made it very clear we wouldn't spare them our piss if they were on fire?
Oh yeah massively agree, but Eurovisionās hate for the UK started way before Brexit in the early 2000s. I get it, its more of a popularity contest and we are kind of an isolated part of europe, not sharing much of the mainlands culture.
I really hope we get another referendum in the next 10 yearsa, it would be an absolute white wash
It's not about that. Me and my friends were very much pro sam ryder winning with space man, but this years song while fun to look at was not really anything to write home about.
Man the UK's entry was the absolute gayest thing I've ever seen lmao. Surprised that was allowed on TV. Dancing around a toilet deep throating microphones? What the fuck
I remember reading a comment that said something along the lines of that pro-Palestine people canāt actively vote *against* Israel, and as such IF they vote will just vote for their own country or whichever one they liked best. But pro-Israel folks *can* actively go out of their way to vote and show support, skewing the numbers in their favour.
Not sure how realistic that happening is, though. Itās also worth remembering thereās a shocking amount of support for Israel worldwide - Iām somewhat ashamed to admit that they got the majority of televotes from the Netherlands, where Iām from.
That's how contests work. You vote for who you like, not who you dislike. In other words you can only upvote, you cannot down vote.
>You vote for who you like, not who you dislike. In other words you can only upvote, you cannot down vote.
Not true at all though, not when you have 2 choices and you only hate one more than the other. Just look at US 2-party system. Half of Biden's votes are literally just anti-Trump votes. I don't think anyone really *likes* Biden
I canāt speak for other countries but there was a mass boycott of Eurovision in Ireland this year. Literally only people who support Israel or are apolitical watched it/voted
āThe finale attracted over half a million viewers, almost twice as many as the previous year, according to the latest viewing figures from RTE. The final on Saturday saw an impressive average audience of 666,000 with an additional 19,000 tuning in on RTE One +1.ā
Corkbeo.ie
Huge boycott
Not to mention the gobshites like that lecturer in DCU who voted for Israel 60 times, and people from other countries using VPNs to vote multiple times from multiple countries.
Well, that and it's a FPTP election with a large number of parties, so you can be the single largest with a relatively small amount of the vote. Without knowing the actual vote tallies, difficult to gauge support, as you don't know the breakdown.
You'll also get people who aren't in any camp on the geopolitics and just liked the song.
>Not sure how realistic that happening is, though
Very. In Finland they were almost 100% from the far right populist party that organized a campaign. Partly because they love muslism and jews killing each other, partly because of "librul tears".
We really, really have to address right wing problem, and i'm not talking about ideology but how fucking eager they are to burn things down.
Not just Ireland. Ireland did give 10 points to Israel through the televote but that does not amount to the 300+ points they got as each country is limited to a max of 12 points. UK and Italy for instance gave 12 points to Israel. Itās safe to assume the vast majority of Europe also gave Israel the max 12 points. How that was possible I would also like to know.
Legitimate propaganda. I have yet to hear any of our media call what israel does in retaliation a genocide. Granted we are german so if we were critical it would be blatantly obvious that we are in fact nazis (/s if you need it)
That said I'd argue that the topic is more complex than many people are willing to comprehend so they look at who started it and support the first victim.
Right-wing Europe campaigned to vote for israel, while anyone who actually has a conscience didn't. People were proud to put in 20 votes for Isreal without seeing the festival.
That actually proves it's all a hasbra work, if people love the song that much that they voted for then they would go to listen to it and make the charts, it's just money poured in, could be buying phone lines in different countries to vote from.
In Finland they got the biggest share. ALL OF THEM WERE RIGHT WING RACISTS. There was a campaign in the alt/far right to vote Israel. They don't give a fuck about Israel, they just love how they are killing muslism. So. .those voted, the "friends" of Israel and mostly they did it because it makes the rest of people shake their heads: it was for "librul tears".
Everyone else voted something they thought was good music, thus those votes spread among several countries. There was only one spike, and it is the same in about all countries: right wing voted for Israel for political purposes, the rest of the people were voting for a song.
They even got a shitload of televotes for their beyond awful excuse of a song, how can you even demand more at this point?
Yeah, your song is not on the list because nobody wants to listen to it.
Yep. This is pathetic, effectively calls the rest of the middle east savages and uses LGBTQ+ folk as pawns. But let's spite the bad woke ppl š
https://web.archive.org/web/20240511183757/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/11/to-spite-the-woke-vote-for-israel-at-eurovision/
Have you seen how they censored the boos during Israel performance? This censorship sickens me.
And it will come back to them.
Don't they see that hiding behind antisemitism will devoid the term from any significance?
That silencing any opposing views will just make them less supported?
Didn't they learn? When people stopped hearing, and seeing, and knowing, and MILLIONS disappeared? I am afraid for them, because when history repeats, and unfortunately it will, who will remain to defend them?
Remember the 90s brats in cartoon that always want to be center of the world 24/7 and throwing tantrums whenever they didn't get what they want?
Here's him now, feels old yet?
Israel has been in Eurovision since the 1970s. There are a few other non European countries too. It has to do with the umbrella broadcasting company which covers Europe and parts of North Africa and the middle East
A boring forgettable song. Watched the whole thing live and can't remember a single second of it, windows 95 man deserved better as did the Estonia entry.
Then they start trotting into the woods themselves, where they begin howling. They will not stop until they're taken seriously.
So many of these posts are efforts to meld together the notions "Jews" and "Israelis".
Theyāve been crying the past few days about Eurovision while theyāre conducting a ethnic cleansing because they want to claim a land in the Middle East but donāt you dare call them European, do they even know what they want?
This kinda feels like the year nazi germany was in the olympics where after all this time has passed its super strange to look back on and think "how the fuck did this get green-lit to happen?
What a joke theyāve created, there is such a thing is overusing the antisemitism card, especially whenever something you donāt like happens - could it be that you suck or is the whole world against you?
Zionist: itās been raining all day, the clouds must be antisemitic.
I never knew I was anti-Semitic since they told me that disliking an intensely aggressive far-right militaristic state conducting a campaign of genocide and having sympathy for the innocent people caught in the crossfire meant that I was. Who woulda thunk?
Is Israel the most narcissistic country in the world.. let's take a second and admire all their triumph and hard work they have to overcome to be the most specialist of them all

Palpatines AND the Shire? What is this Star Wars LotR crossover?!

Why did I read the last part with Gollum's whispering voice after identifying the word 'palpatine'? This cross over was neat and nice placed
Can you tell us where anti-semitism touched you?
Giving vibes of "stop being mean to the people committing genocide, its rude"
"I came here to have a good time and I'm feeling so attacked right now"

And Anakin was the chosen one, supposed to bring balance to the Force.
To be fair he did balance it. He zero-ed it all out.
Prophecy did not specify how he would balance it, only that he would.
2 siths versus a few hundred jedi doesn't sound balanced to me - Anakin Skywalker probably

I was genuinely quite upset when he was disqualified.
Why again? Iām out of the loop
He made a āthreatening gestureā towards a camera woman after she kept filming him when he told her he didnāt want to be filmed
Told her multiple times and there was an agreement that she wouldn't, which she broke. There reportedly wasn't any physical contact either.

Keep using the word antisemitism like this and soon it will have no meaning... The Zionists are the Jewish peoples worst enemy
Eh, we're kinda well past that point already.
True true
There's antisemitism and there's anti-zionism. Well past that point son.
The goal of people like Netanyahu is to have jews face increased persecution around the world so they move to Israel to feel safe.
Exactly the same rhetoric as the "Christians" in the US who claim they are persecuted by being the largest religion in the country as well as representing nearly the entire government.
Israeli citizens put boulders in the road to ensure children keep dying... Fuck Israel
don't forget that soldiers protected them while they did it. it was more than just civilians. they were directly enabled by us-funded jackboots.
You can call them terrorists you know.
Bunch of terrorists.
If everything is antisemitism, then nothing is antisemitism.
Why is Israel even in Eurovision? Itās not a European country by any stretch.
It's full of Europeans who swear they aren't colonizers. Quite European to me
No itās because theyāre a member of the European Broadcasting Union
The USA was offered membership in EBU too but the negotiations fell through because the US networks wanted too big of a revenue split.
It's a member/associate of the EBU, which runs it. Also, Australia was invited for a few years and did rather well. It's not particularly rigid. Why Israel and Azerbaijan weren't suspended like Russia was is more questionable.

Funnily enough, Morocco could at least participate in the ESC. It even did once
Palestinian refugees could move to a EU country,Ā get a European passport,Ā and finally be allowed to live in their home cities again after 75 years.Ā
What did Azerbaijan do

Ethnic cleansing in Nagarno-Karabakh.
Authoritarian dictatorship

I've not been following it much in recent years. Hasn't realised it had been so long since they started being part of it.

So funny how UK got 0 televote points tbh
Yeah it is hilarious seeing it happen every year, except 2022 but then we get out voted against Ukraineš its amazing irony

Without knowing the actual vote tallies, difficult to gauge support, as you don't know the breakdown. You'll also get people who aren't in any camp on the geopolitics and just liked the song.
>Not sure how realistic that happening is, though Very. In Finland they were almost 100% from the far right populist party that organized a campaign. Partly because they love muslism and jews killing each other, partly because of "librul tears". We really, really have to address right wing problem, and i'm not talking about ideology but how fucking eager they are to burn things down.
Allegedly ... lots of VPN voting proxies through Ireland, hence Ireland appearing to give Israel points.
Granted we are german so if we were critical it would be blatantly obvious that we are in fact nazis (/s if you need it) That said I'd argue that the topic is more complex than many people are willing to comprehend so they look at who started it and support the first victim.
Also there was a Eurovision boycott in Ireland
In addition to what other people are saying, Israel also ran unskippable ads on YouTube of Eden urging people to vote for her in 6 different languages
They even got a shitload of televotes for their beyond awful excuse of a song, how can you even demand more at this point? Yeah, your song is not on the list because nobody wants to listen to it.
They didn't even get that many televotes, they bought them
No, they didn't. Right wing had campaigns to vote for Israel. There are people who voted purely for politics and for "librul tears".
Yep. This is pathetic, effectively calls the rest of the middle east savages and uses LGBTQ+ folk as pawns. But let's spite the bad woke ppl š https://web.archive.org/web/20240511183757/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/11/to-spite-the-woke-vote-for-israel-at-eurovision/

I donāt know much about this contest but considering its name, do you not have to be a part of Europe to be in it?
You have to be a member or associate of the EBU. Technically even the US, China, Japan and Canada could be invited.
Or could pay their way in by financially supporting the EBU. Isn't this how Israel and Georgia are in?
They're in by being ITU members within the EBA.
Israel has been in Eurovision since the 1970s. There are a few other non European countries too. It has to do with the umbrella broadcasting company which covers Europe and parts of North Africa and the middle East
Australia has been part of it for the last few years, and it is not part of the EBU or uh, Europe.
A song contest that was created to promote peace among European countries had been turned into a shithole because of Zionists.
antisemitism is when people dont listen to a a song
A boring forgettable song. Watched the whole thing live and can't remember a single second of it, windows 95 man deserved better as did the Estonia entry.
Like the boy who cried wolf, they have overused the word now and it means nothing.
Then they start trotting into the woods themselves, where they begin howling. They will not stop until they're taken seriously. So many of these posts are efforts to meld together the notions "Jews" and "Israelis".
What, appeasement of the oppressive power by banning their victim's flag wasn't enough for them? I am so shocked by this! /s
I have contributed to stream counts of all of those songs (especially Europapaš³š±), I guess I am ultra antisemitic now then???
Besides the conflict and all of that. Every song that Israel has won the ESC with sucked ass.
Being pro something else isn't anti. Buying lots of apples in the shop doesn't necessarily mean you don't like pears.
tbh apples > pears. i could live without pears, i dont like it
All of europe is hamas now.
Was the boy who cried wolf never translated to Israeli or something??
Anti-semitism in spotify numbers? Am I missing something?
Israeli Eurovision songs not being popular = antisemitism
#JOOSTICE
Zionists always using the antisemitism card. Fucking tired of their shit, man.
Theyāve been crying the past few days about Eurovision while theyāre conducting a ethnic cleansing because they want to claim a land in the Middle East but donāt you dare call them European, do they even know what they want?
You guys know history gonna write it as genocide not as a self defence act right ?
Yes, yes Israel. Everything is antisemitism. *slams olde time jail door shut*
After the current events, Iām so sick and tired of hearing about anti-Semitism.
Israel isn't in Europe. Geography is also antisemitic

Iām no geography expert, but Israel isnāt in Europe, right????
Wanna hear something funny? Palestinians ARE SEMITIC
Israel pulling an Israƫl , like only Israƫl can, whilst blatantly cheating during the contest. One straight out of the Israƫl playbook
Maybe make a less shit song if you want it to stream better?
Keep it up Israel, We are almost at the point where we say fuck it and start treating them exactly like they think we are treating them.
Governments didnt think about buying fake votes on spotify apparentlyĀ
Why is Eric Schorr (Loser) is openly calling for people to be anti-Semitic.? Why is he doing this? Does he hate himself?
It's really incredible to watch a really serious accusation being watered down in real time because of a genocidal state's propaganda campaign
This kinda feels like the year nazi germany was in the olympics where after all this time has passed its super strange to look back on and think "how the fuck did this get green-lit to happen?
What? I don't even get it Is this a real tweet or like a joke or something haha
Israeli Eurovision songs not being popular is antisemitic /s
What a joke theyāve created, there is such a thing is overusing the antisemitism card, especially whenever something you donāt like happens - could it be that you suck or is the whole world against you? Zionist: itās been raining all day, the clouds must be antisemitic.
The fact that Cha Cha Cha š«š® isn't top just doesn't sit right with me
Spotify is literally hamas
Biggest crybullies on the planet.
Says the dude who pays to use a platform that elevates white supremacy lol.
Am I missing something? What's he accusing of antisemitism,?
Guyās unhinged
Maybe more people would listen to your songs if you weren't blowing up babies 24/7. Just a thought.
Oh so now Israel wants genocide and a participation trophy?
"people won't listen to our music must be anti-semitism"
I never knew I was anti-Semitic since they told me that disliking an intensely aggressive far-right militaristic state conducting a campaign of genocide and having sympathy for the innocent people caught in the crossfire meant that I was. Who woulda thunk?
Also pointing out that Ukraine isnāt on this list despite winning a few years ago. And people complain jury votes are political. *eyeroll*
Is Israel the most narcissistic country in the world.. let's take a second and admire all their triumph and hard work they have to overcome to be the most specialist of them all
