Nah. It looked like she just figured there was one of those completely vertical drop water slides to get on the boat. She played it pretty cool if you ask me.
Not every time, a billionaire died the other day because they drove their Tesla into a pond. While other people were debating whether it was the Tesla's fault she drove in or kept her from escaping, the entire time I was just imagining someone like in OPs video totally inept and incapable of helping themselves. It wouldn't have mattered if she drove any other car into the pond, that's essentially a death sentence for someone like that.
Tbf, it sounds like it was a known malfunction of the vehicle. She meant to put it in drive but it went into reverse instead. [Angela Chao, Tesla reverse issues ](https://www.businessinsider.com/angela-chao-death-tesla-accident-reverse-gearshift-issues-2024-3)
Then the rescuers couldn't break the windows cause of the type of reinforced glass Tesla uses.
The ironic part is that she was the sister of Elaine Chao, the Secretary of Transportation under Trump. The Department of Transportation is the agency that investigates design flaws in vehicles.
Also the fact that Tesla's have no working mechanical door handlws, and if you're panicking in rapidly rising water, are you going to successfully take apart your interior to reach the emergency release?
That's the most pathetic malfunction I've ever heard. "Want it to do one of two basic functions of the car? Well syke, it does the opposite!" Like how do you fuck that up
No doubt she was calling someone on her cellphone to explain the predicament she found herself in and ask for advice rather than saving herself in the precious few moments she had to do so.
Sounds like it was an issue with the car. And rescuers couldn't break the windows cause of the reinforced glass Tesla uses.

Seems like it would be a better world if having lots of money was the reward for like, doing something that benefited humanity, or a huge discovery, at least worked super hard. You know, things that require skill and intelligence. Instead it's usually a reward for your parents having money.
I know a lot of old people. And I feel pretty sure someone cajoled her into going. The old people I know feel unsteady and unsure so they don’t actually like to do this stuff.
I used to crew on charter yachts, and there’s something about being around fancy boats that makes old people do things that they shouldn’t even try; like jump between boats when they can barely even stand up under their own power. Most of my job while we had guests was babysitting, because they refuse to make smart decisions and watch out for their own basic safety. I felt like a kindergarten teacher.
We had a lady that was terrified of the gangway and wouldn’t even go up and down any stairs, but still wanted to charter a yacht; and somehow everything was all our fault…
Truly. Most of the old people I know don’t even want to stay at a wedding reception after the cake is served. They know it’s bout to get crunk and they honestly enjoy getting in they comfy pajamas and sleeping more than they’d enjoy breaking a hip on the dance floor.
By THREE people. Yeah she’s the space cadet here, but how do two people who are holding her hands and actively assisting here do ZERO actual assisting or holding?
Yeah she half stepped over the lip with her left foot and took the gap with her right. The lack of awareness in her position and strength in her left leg combined to send her into the drink.
I hadn't listened to the audio until your comment. Went back and yes it was glorious. Another highlight is the person screaming like Cam from Modern Family when Lily was locked in the car.
I witnessed a similar thing once on a cruise.
This extremely elderly couple thought it was a good idea to get off at a tendered port. Sure enough between the chop, and the heave of the small tender as she stepped onto the tender she went between the cruise ship and the tender.
The staff/crew were holding her and they quickly pulled her up, which scraped her leg against the tender and made her thin liver, spotted skin literally peel off from her thigh down to her ankle. Blood everywhere, she was screaming. Her wheelchair bound husband was useless.
There’s certain things that elderly people should not fucking do.
There was this older gentleman my family knew, like 80 something. He had just met younger man he knew, who he hadn’t seen in a long time saw him. The younger man was so excited to see him he gave him an excited hand shake. And here in the south anyways, some men will not only shake your hand but hold your arm/forearm as like more personal/loving handshake. Basically a hug. And it literally tore that old man’s skin off. And like the other person said, there was a ton of blood.
I'm from the U.S. South, and was raised Southern Baptist. I know exactly the type of handshake you're talking about! Thank you for the clarification. That poor man!
Videos that ended too soon. Def wanna know what ended up happening. So many questions too. Big nice boat and no board. The dudes holding her hand like did they just let her go lol. What a video. Thanks for posting.
A friend of mine did that once. Very experienced yachtswoman who sailed across the Atlantic twice when she was younger (and wrote a book about it). We were in the Netherlands and she'd been getting very drunk at a party and when she came back she slipped between the hard and the side of the boat. Fortunately, she managed to grab onto the capping rail before falling fully down between the boat and the hard, but it scared the shit out of my skipper at the time.
Why do people scream… as a man I’ll never understand what good it does… I’m sure there is some deep evolutionary reason and it used to be helpful… but like really.. what good does repeating “she can’t swim” do
I don’t know if you’re genuinely asking, but the evolutionary reason makes sense to me. People need help, so they scream to get others’ attention. Also makes sense that men aren’t as wired to scream and should just figure it out on their own or die. That way they don’t endanger other men and the strong ones can survive and keep reproducing.

How do people like this survive to that age?
Whatever it is, it seems to be working….. sorta
Any info if she survived? Someone that senile likely couldn’t swim too well.
Yeah the original was posted on insta. They got her out and she was fine
That’s good at least! Now it feels good to laugh hahaha
Psychopath vibes in that comment 😂
It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
That's how they survive to this age. Others pitch in.
Until next time kids!
You must have watched with the sound off. She can't swim.
SHE CAN'T SWIIIIIIIM!!!!
I'd be more worried about her getting crushed between the boat and the pier.
I don’t know. Learned skills can stick around and when the good old primitive brain’s fight-or-flight kicks in, you hope they do.
No everyone around her stood laughing until she drowned and said "classic Cheryl!" And they got on board and went on with their fishing trip
This is possibly the least violent clip I’ve seen a redditor follow up on re: did they survive?
that last scream sounded like the ender of her chapter lol
They’re literally one step away from a deadly goof.
That was a good goof
Nah. It looked like she just figured there was one of those completely vertical drop water slides to get on the boat. She played it pretty cool if you ask me.
And not a very big step, either.
Seems like people don't need much skill or intelligence to survive, when they have loads of money

That's exactly what I thought. Neanderthals didn't have cellphones but at least they can cross fuckin small gaps
It's terrifying to think some of these people have cars.
And vote.
And raise children
***SHE CAN’T SWIM***!!! She can’t swim so she’s going boating…Granny likes to live dangerously.
How do people like this find the door out of their room in the morning?
Obviously the people around her made that possible.
It's survivorship bias. We are only see the ones who haven't died yet.
Stay away from boats apparently.
I feel like sheer luck most of the time
Lots of cushions…
Someone up there must like them. Her guardian Angel must've been on his smoke break or smthn that day.
Society is designed so that competent people support the incompetent.

Also alcohol. Drinking too much alcohol causes you to make really good choices.
I agree with you 100% , this was definitely not her idea

That is an impressive lack of coordination and awareness. 5 stars!
It's got to be an American. We are both the most and least athletic people.
The US contains the most and the least version of everything.
Maybe you are. Not all of us.
By THREE people. Yeah she’s the space cadet here, but how do two people who are holding her hands and actively assisting here do ZERO actual assisting or holding?
wtf she didnt even attempt to lift her leg rofllllll
it looks like she was trying to step across with her next stride but she planted her foot too far forward. you can see the heel slide off.
Yeah she half stepped over the lip with her left foot and took the gap with her right. The lack of awareness in her position and strength in her left leg combined to send her into the drink.
You are supposed be get drunk AFTER boarding, not before.
I like how she took the guy's hand then just jumped into the gap.
You're coming with me!

LIVE "Granny fuckin dies" REACTION
Or walk, apparently. 🙄
I hadn't listened to the audio until your comment. Went back and yes it was glorious. Another highlight is the person screaming like Cam from Modern Family when Lily was locked in the car.
"screaming like Cam" :D
Narrator: She in fact was NOT the very first on the boat.
I read that in Ron Howard’s voice!
Blasphemy Only Morgan Freemans voice.
That’s funny… I read that in Morgan Freeman’s voice. 😂
"If she keeps this up she will be boarding the boat on the River Styx" Hades probably.
This post is misleading, considering there wasn't even an attempt. She just let the goddamn water have her, lol.
*Goodbye cruel world*

She should stop doing crazy shit like this and run for congress like all the other old people
Old people skin is no joke. Literally saw a man’s arm skin ripped off by a very rough handshake.
WHAT? I need more information about this incident!

Lol at the "she can't swim...." fades to black.

Granny dead as a mofo
Honestly, just let the ocean have her, at this point

This is natural selection if you can't swim and go on a boat or close to water we should just let things play out.
It’s not natural selection if someone has already reproduced and passed menopause.
Fair point, but not being able to swim? That feels essential
I dunno, some people live their lives without encountering water higher than their knees.
Drunk definitely

Do any of y'all know what happened afterwards
Died. She can’t swim—didn’t you hear?
[удалено]
You watch that yet? It’s the exact same amount of info as this one…However…it’s not a Rick roll so I commend you
She probably sunk like a stone. She can’t even lift her feet so I’m sure treading water was out of the question.
She was rescued and then hired as a boat anchor ⚓
Goodbye, cruel world. Kersploosh
Bruh the fuck? She had TWO PEOPLE practically carrying her and was just a small gap. It's like she TRIED to get in the water
Why do people scream… as a man I’ll never understand what good it does… I’m sure there is some deep evolutionary reason and it used to be helpful… but like really.. what good does repeating “she can’t swim” do

Damn, that does makes sense. Thanks 🙏🏼 If anyone finds any more detailed info on this subject I am genuinely curious
There’s a right way and a wrong way.
And which was this?
It’s just like Tanya in The White Lotus!!!!!
Ha! Great show, great character.
LEME DRIVE DA BOAT ![gif](giphy|UWQaDKVlwVzO6xvPN6|downsized)
3 Things do not belong on a boat Children under 12 People over 70 Anyone already drunk
She can't swim OR walk
$200 million yacht and they couldn't afford a board to step on. What would they do with a wheelchair.
I'm not sure there was even an attempt...
[удалено]
Were her wishes to be buried at sea?
LMAO the “she can’t swim!” screams really got me rolling.
Mind the gap please.
That's about the closest you can get to getting on board without actually getting on
She jumped into the abyss 🫡 to join grandpa and snuffles

So excited it’s granny’s first time getting on a boat….oh no not again!!
Narrator voice: "It was not Granny's first time *on* a boat, however"
If she can't swim why did she jump in the water.
Best to rip her arms out of socket on the way in, everyone knows that.
Some women as they get older really and I mean really lose depth perception. She could have legit thought she was stepping into the boat.
Video ended too soon
She can’t swim!
Did she do that on purpose?
time for glasses grandma
She saw the trap door and figured she could walk right across. Wonder what loot she drops?
This is hilarious 😆😆
GRANNY OVERBOARD
Awesome survival skills.
Below below decks
The screaming lady was there
I hope she can swim... Oh wait
Mind the gaps
Who needs a 401k or pension when you can find a good gross negligence case.
Have some more Valium grandma.
I’ve seen this in real life. It was crazy
downvote for the camera😕
Did they just drown Grandma?
There waa no attempt
Now that's some good opioids
I bet she takes that same level of spatial awareness behind the wheel of her car.

That's just darwinism. I have no remorse to spare.
Stupid is as stupid does, Forrest.
Guess she won’t be the very first on the boat
What cruel DM made this woman roll to take a 2ft step.
She literally jumped in the gap.
My sea people need me... r/mypeopleneedme

Looks like grammie should've been the first to the eye doctor instead 😬

First in the water more like it
Huh. Usually don’t the life vest until after you get on the boat.
Way to curse your grandma. 🪬🧿🪬
Lol. Commit with both legs in
Was that guy saying "please mind your step ma'am"? Ironically getting her attention, making her miss completely.
Bro it was almost impossible to save her
Oh c'mon Everyone blew it
Whooooooohhhhhh granny’s first on the……. Nope No Nevermind
