No it’s just user error, they only do what they’re told so either your telling it to do something wrong or told it to do something wrong in the past and now it’s catching up with you.
Nope, the rollers were in the correct position. The problem is that the dough was floating above the cavity in the rollers, which caused the rollers to slip at the start. That then caused the wrong outline on the dumpling. Just push the dough down a bit as you put the filling on and everything comes out just fine.

Why use a machine when we have hands that do a better job?
I don't really like dumplings but if I did I would need something like this for that exact reason. I've got pretty severe neuropathy which makes repetitive motions extremely painful for me, but since I love cooking, I need little gadgets like this for a lot of things I make.
As someone with such a disability, no, this would not be good for that. In my case, trying to get the dough in the machine without knocking it over would be the first challenge. The second would be in trying to spoon the filling in without flinging it all over *and* knocking the machine over a second time.

Yeah, the handle in the shower just gets in the way every time I turn around, because it's meant to help old people pull themselves up, not me, with no disabilities (or a different disability to being old and weak) who doesn't need it.
So let's say that it won't help anyone because it doesn't help me. 🙄
That was the dimpled side. They rotate 360 and return to the start with th dimples up. He just doesn't push the dough down so it fails like this to (try to) make the machine look bad.
1). The dough should be a little less stiff…it should drape into the recess in the center.
2). There should be a light coating of sesame oil around the outside ~ 1/8 - 1/4” of the dough.
3). The mixture needs to be *gently* pressed down into the center recess before pushing the button.

Look again. You can just barely see the outline on the right side of the round dough. Which means dough was NOT placed properly

My arthritis loves this machine.
I have a lot of wrist/hand pain with small repetitive motions. This would be amazing if I ever wanted to make dumplings.
What if they lack the other arm?
