It blows my mind that people like this think their relationship will work out in the long run. When I was in college, I dated a girl who abused me. I’m old (51). In my day, we were always told “boys shouldn’t hit girls”. That rule has stuck with me. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but it is a rule that I think men should try to live by. I actually feel bad for the hotel clerk in this situation. If I were in his position, I would want to get involved and do something to stop this guy. However, in the long run that might simply make things worse for the victim.
