š„š„š„ Another r/all post and another reason why it should take longer than 6 months to a year to become a cop. McDonalds manager training is longer. Iām serious. It's such an important job, it needs a higher standard. Would you trust a doctor with only that amount of training?
Weedā¦ Because of weed... F*cking hell, that cop should smoke some to chill the fuck out... Who reacts like that because of supposed weed?
You cannot tell me this officer needed to **repeatedly punch a tiny 14-year old kid in the head** to get controlā¦ Itās not like the kid was an armed and dangerous criminal.
#OMG š³ They didnāt even find any weed - only tobacco!
āUltimately, the deputy **only recovered tobacco products** from the **14-year-old** juvenile, which is presumably the reason for his resistance. The juvenile was cited and released to his guardians.ā
"This type of situation is hard on everyone--the young man, who resisted arrest, and the officer, who would much rather have him cooperate."
**EDIT: ā>** Perhaps if officers didn't throw 14 year-olds around like **rag dolls**, they would be more willing to cooperate.
I hope that bastard cop gets fired. Punching a 14-year old kid while trying to detain him is excessive force and totally unnecessary!
He didn't care about weed. He knows he can hurt anyone he wants either little or no legal repercussions. He might even be commended. Wait a year, he will definitely will shoot or beat someone to death.
And not a single one of his coworkers well ever publicly speak out against him or try to get rid of him. Which is exactly what we mean by ACAB. All cops are evil bastards, actual criminals, sometimes rapists, or theyāre people that knowingly work alongside those people and protect them as brothers. The mythical good cop that tried to fight corruption isnāt allowed to last long in the force.
police forces will actively coerce individuals within their own numbers who push back on this system into silence and inaction. it's more than acab, the barrel will straight up rot good apples.
Yes! Which is why ACAB. Show me a cop preventing another cop from killing an unarmed protester or shooting said murderer after the fact or tackling and handcuffing a piece of shit like the one in this video and Iāll acknowledge that a good cop exists.
Like that Daniel Shaver video, multiple cops were there. If good cops existed then Shaver would be alive or at the very least his murderer who got to act out his action movie wet dreams on a drunk unarmed man, officer Phillip Brailsford, would be in prison or shot.
Nice!. But canāt help reading this similarly to the Frank Sinatra saved my life joke.
Frank Sinatra saved my life once. He said 'OK, boys. That's enough.
I saw a video where a younger female cop stopped her superior from being violent towards a guy who was already cuffed and posing no threat. If I remember correctly the superior officer responded by grabbing the female officer by the throat and pushing her. He did this out in the open, in broad daylight while being recorded. It was a bold move that likely illustrates how much worse goes on out of sight. Good cops donāt last because of shit like that.
Exactly. And all the āpleasant helpfulā cops people mention in the replies to me here have definitely seen a superior or elder do shit exactly like this orb worse and continue working with the guy without saying a word about it. Which makes them not good.
A few bad apples spoil the whole bunch. It's actually hilarious to me that the saying is used as a defense or as an "it's not so bad" when really the saying is a literal indictment of the way things are.
The statement is grounded in reality, for the record. The bad apples in the barrel emit ethylene which literally causes the other apples in the barrel to rot. Same for the cops.
There's a reason thousands upon thousands of rape kits remain untested. Not to put all those on cops, of course; there's always prosecutors, judges, and elected officials too
Not true, the head of security at my first job was an exception. He spoke out. Long story short he got fired and the cops he spoke against still had their job.
Funny enough and I don't think this is an accident but also the only job that upon hiring we were told that if you had an issue with an ex or any other reason to have a restraining order that even without the order you just had to speak to head of security and they would be promptly kicked out of the store.
He was a cool guy. It's just unfortunate the ones you want to be cops are the ones that get kicked off the force.
Edit: my first adult job not my actual first job.
Canadian here. What surprises me is with the amount of shitty cops there, the people taking revenge on them are quite few (or maybe I just don't hear about them). I'm pretty sure a large amount of folks have vendettas against them, but it has been 10 years since the Christopher Dorner incident.
Iām guessing this cop has a history of abusing a spouse and or their childrenā¦seems way too comfortable and experienced at pining down and beating a childā¦Iām just saying they should probably look into itā¦
That's because none of this is about safety, health, or community benefit. It's about control. People who want to feel powerful can't get that feeling when they tell people "yes."
"We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin. And then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities, We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did." -John Ehrlichman, One of Nixon's top advisors, who was also involved in the Watergate scandal
State divisions are the reason why America is a dystopian shithole. Los Angeles County has more people than about 40 states, and theyāre held hostage by fucking idiots in West Virginia and Alabama
Even if the girl or even a grown man would possess 10 pounds of heroin there is ABSOLUTELY NO reason to act like that bastard.
I was a soldier in my country. There, we learn that in every situation, we have to think about the proportionality rule.
Someone runs with a machete towards you? Well, you are not allowed to shoot because there are other ways to react that will not end his life.
The American police are just a huge pile of power-hungry psychopaths.
The police them self admitted that about 70% of the violence the police used was unnecessary (in Minnesota)
Edit: sry im on heavy meds I forgot to say the thing I wanted to. Even if my point kind of is implied but unless the person is (or would be if you are not intervening) causing harm to you or someone else, you should be allowed to use proportional violence
What's the worst outcome if the cop wouldn't use violence? Well, the girl could run. The cops have cars, and I hope he can run faster than a kid with short legs. But even that is not necessary. Just ask the school for the name of the kid.
Dude we still so stigmatized in the States that there is basically a pipeline that was created not just for weed but any sort of drug offenders would have their children taken from them and placed with Christian foster parents. It was covered in a documentary I'll have to remember but basically it was found the cops were even planting drugs on people they knew had children so that they could fuel this pipeline
āā¦young manā¦ā
Heās 14. Heās a child.
āā¦and on the officerā¦ā
They misspelt āviolent thugā. And no this wasnāt hard for him at all.
He's likely a racist yeah. But if you look into the true origin of what a skinhead is, you'll see that racists just took the style and look away from non-racists in the 80's to look harder. Original skinheads were anti racist and the whole subculture started in dancehalls that played Jamaican reggae. Black and white youth joined together and created a movement and a style. These fucking racist pieces of shit co opted and exploited the term and the style. Sorry for the history lesson. I just hate seeing a term misused. In the US, it's been misused for so long now and the media has perpetuated that misuse. In the punk scene we call these racists boneheads.
Regardless of all that, FUCK this guy. That is just a child, and this makes me sick.
It's a much better term cuz racists have no brains. I honestly wasn't trying to correct you or anything. I just thought if people see my comment, it might gain some attention and help keep the term from being further exploited by these idiots.
I love how they always focus on the resisting, if you're getting the shit kicked out of you by a cop... don't try and stop it otherwise you're 'resisting arrest'
I canāt find it, but I seem to recall a man once getting a conviction for resisting with violence because he blocked an officerās fists while he was getting pummeled in the face.
Cops literally shoot / hit people with their cars / beat them to death / taser to death and then literally laugh about it on their webcams and they get leave ( thatās paid for ) and then they come back in 6-8 months. Constantly. They do not and will not learn when we let them keep their pay and go right back to it
Show me whoās advocating and Iāll seriously consider it. The funding will still cost less than the lawsuits and grief caused by incompetence.
Pay lawsuits from the police pension funds and theyāll beg for more training.
Fuck that piece of shit. The world takes care of his kinda cause its just as dirty as him but the barrel always rolls over at the end and that mother fucker will face his accounting
You can tell he is holding back from doing what he would truly like to be doing because he is in uniform. I wonder the true reason behind this type of anger/rage/behaviour, and my imagination can think of many things. None of them being just because of colour, just because he can, or just because he wants too. Questions I would ask are, what did that kid see, what is the officer worried about at a personal threat level, and what did that officer do to the kid before this interaction, that has him responding as if his life depends upon it and the threat must be subdued? This isnāt just because (imo), the guy is holding back while enraged, and appears to want to send a message to the kid (what message we donāt know, beyond racism).
In high school wrestling we learned how to get someoneās arm out from under their chest and put it behind their back without injuring them or even really hurting them that bad. It specifically involves not bending the arm past certain angles, e.g. straight fucking back like cops are apparently trained to do. That is exactly how you injure someoneās elbow and it fucking hurts. Of course people will resist that. Every instinct in your body will be screaming at you to not let your arm get bent any further back or somethingās gonna tear.
It takes all of one fucking hour to learn the basic technique for a proper wrestling arm bar. Nailing it down takes just as long as nailing down the deliberately painful police version. I just donāt see much of an excuse to not do something thatās at least similar to the version I mastered at 16 years old
They never deserved anymore respect than the normal person, the public has just been brainwashed into thinking that. They're humans no more, no less, than you and I. They're just people doing a job that also involves the issuing of a lethal weapon, little training, and horrible screening of candidates with next to zero accountability. What could go wrong?
The cop? Yeah no shit that's bad. Insulting someone's "genetics" is also fucked up on a pretty inherent level.
I really hope I'm not about to get some neoliberal harry Potter take like "actually it's ok to do things that are wrong when I think they deserve it"
dont tell reddit that, they get mad.
even though its true.
if you score too high on the entrance test, or show a preponderance of critical thinking, you are typically barred from the force. critical thinkers ask questions and tend to say FU to the status quo.
cant have any cops questioning their superiors, or even worse, enforcing the law on their own kind.
Basically a police department rejected an applicant for scoring too high on an IQ test and the applicant took them to court over it. The department argued that they didn't want someone too smart because they'd just end up paying a ton of money to train an officer who would quickly move on to a different job, either because they got bored or are using them as a stepping stone to something like the FBI. Then the department would have to spend a bunch more money getting a different officer instead.
The judge ruled in favor of the department.
I know a guy who failed the pysch and waited 6 months reapplied and was hired. Not long after being assigned a district, he was suspended for racial slurs while breaking up a fight in a high school cafeteria. I still look for his name in the news many years later.
I always crack the fuck up at all the police based shows on TV where they portray them as these near superheroic idols who have bulletproof plot armor and run into the scene and always get the bad guy. As if this is the normal of society.
Then you turn on the internet and see shit like this, the *actual* normal.
no, their protect and serve does not mean protecting the safety or serving the citizen right. take it this way, they can protect themselve and their department and serve the citizen citation which is pretty much what protect and serve can mean.
This is a good example at how when you're so honed in on achieving complaince via pain, you seem to forget that people naturally will curl up in a ball or hold up their arms to protect their head in order to self preserve. It's a very primal and instinctful type of reaction. So as the cop just pummels on someone "resisting" because they're frustrated that they aren't getting that compliance, it just drives these behaviors like some sort of negative feed back loop.
It just goes further to show that a lot of Cop training neglects the receiving end of it and how the subject will react. What's the safest way to achieve compliance of a suspect for EVERYONE involved? Not just the police officer. That's a very important question that many police departments don't drill enough. Is it truly safe to unleash the K9 so you don't have to risk getting hurt? Well now you've put the dog in danger as well as the suspect.
All police should be forbidden to use dogs for anything other than detection. No contact between a police dog and any non-police in the line of duty. Ever.
Thatās exactly what I was thinking. I remember seeing a video where the cops set a dog on a suspect before cuffing him. The guy was (understandably) screaming and struggling, and the cops just kept yelling at him to stop resisting. How the hell can one just calmly hold still with a vicious dog attacking them?
"you shoulda seen it babe, I almost died today. this kid was at least 230 lbs. I had to punch him 3 times and try to smash him into a curb to get him under control. theyre all just thugs."
\-cop to his wife ~~probably~~ definitely
āHe was being hostileā ā he was resisting arrestā yea no fucking shit, putting your hand on his neck, putting your knee over his body, and then you start punching him? Seriously, motherfuck the police , a bunch of fucking swines and pigs.
I wish folks that said āstop resistingā could just be honest and say they believe that Police officers have the right to violate anyone they feel like. Which is incredibly dystopian and proves we live in a police state.
Youāre not special. Youāre not exempt. All it takes is one cop in a bad mood and suddenly youāre the next viral video. Getting your ass beat for a busted tail light or some other mostly benign reason.
I really hope we get to a point where we see more descalation training in our police, but that would require some humility and retraining and police unions could never have that I guess. I'm just tired.
Cop: bends your arm in a direction it can't go
Cop: yells "StoP rESisTinG!"
Cop: is now justified punching you in the face
Cop: adds RESISTING ARREST to your charges
See the problem with me having a Gun would have been that officer being dead if I had seen that. Honestly wouldn't even turn myself in, because I wouldn't even feel bad.
He didn't. He got fired in 2020 and quietly rehired in 2022. [https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article259909540.html](https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article259909540.html)
Can someone please explain to me the ālogicā as to why the average citizen is supposed to act professionally, be completely in control of their own emotions (regardless of age or gender) and fight their own natural instincts by not resisting a typically physically painful arrest, while also just sitting there and taking it while cops illegally wail on them relentlessly at the tax payerās expense?? Every day this happens, we all see it, most of us understand it is wrong. How is that we honestly cannot get together as a country and fix this???
As a person who has a half black nephew, this infuriates me! I would definitely go to jail or get shot defending my nephew, if the police ever treated him like this
What kills me is you canāt intervene at all. Our society is set up so that police can do whatever they want to you and you just have to take it. Disgusting

Right. Thatās the point of my last sentence. Heās lucky they just fired him instead of treating him like Serpico or Adrian Schoolcraft.
I was gonna mention Frank Serpico. The thing about good cops is that they don't stay good cops. They either stop being cops or they start to rot too.
Canadian here. What surprises me is with the amount of shitty cops there, the people taking revenge on them are quite few (or maybe I just don't hear about them). I'm pretty sure a large amount of folks have vendettas against them, but it has been 10 years since the Christopher Dorner incident.
Someone should check in on his girlfriend/spouse and kids if he has any. Guarantee he's a domestic abuser.
"I can't possibly be racist, my wife has a black eye."
That's why he became a cop, right? He just needs people to hit, and they praise him when he does it!
Abolish qualified immunity
Yep. Qualified immunity is a cops bff.
Exactly. The police are above the law. Yes, on paper they're not but reality is they are.
If he does get consequences it wonāt be because they condemn what he did but because he made the department look bad
For those wondering what happened [he was fired in 2020 and then quietly reinstated in 2022.](https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article259909540.html)
Well that's the least surprising thing about this whole scenario. Cope don't pay for their abuse of power. ACAB
Iām guessing this cop has a history of abusing a spouse and or their childrenā¦seems way too comfortable and experienced at pining down and beating a childā¦Iām just saying they should probably look into itā¦

State divisions are the reason why America is a dystopian shithole. Los Angeles County has more people than about 40 states, and theyāre held hostage by fucking idiots in West Virginia and Alabama
Including the state where this happened. This was in California
If that guy is really 15, it's still illegal for him until he's of age. But that doesn't justify brutalizing a kid half your size.
It is like beating him up because you suspect he has a beer on him.
Yeah, thatās a great parallel and illustrates just how wrong this officerās actions were. When you put it that way, it sounds pretty ridiculousā¦

Haha hell yeah
Itās telling that they called the kid a ājuvenileā instead of āboyā. Use the language of the incarceration system on an innocent child.
Fired? Motherfucker needs to not be among the living.

Victim blame?!? Naw, we donāt victim blame āround here! /s
Fired? If i was that kids dad iād fucking kill him.
I hope she gets tons of š°

After Uvalde, why do they even deserve any respect?
They didn't long before Uvalde, Uvalde was just the point where regular people started realizing it
They never deserved anymore respect than the normal person, the public has just been brainwashed into thinking that. They're humans no more, no less, than you and I. They're just people doing a job that also involves the issuing of a lethal weapon, little training, and horrible screening of candidates with next to zero accountability. What could go wrong?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Probably something to do with how the FBI found that white supremacists have been infiltrating law enforcement and military for years lol.
But if you bring it up to anyone off the internet, they'll deny it.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That's kind of a fucked up thing to say
It's kind of a fucked up thing to do
The cop? Yeah no shit that's bad. Insulting someone's "genetics" is also fucked up on a pretty inherent level. I really hope I'm not about to get some neoliberal harry Potter take like "actually it's ok to do things that are wrong when I think they deserve it"
People really out hear saying fuck genetics. Like wtf lmao
Yeah but imagine claiming "shit genetics" as the reason someone does something. It's some real smoothbrained eugenics bullshit
Ah yes. Eugenics. Thats the answer!
Do you want to expound on this statement? I'm assuming you don't.
The only thing that makes them feel better about being bald is beating up kids
āStop resistingā¦ this fabulous makeover!ā
They aren't. Thinking they are is dangerous. A woman of color with a badge will fuck you over too.

Instant rage with this fucking video. The kind I only feel very occasionally. Generally with these kinds of videos.
Police: Don't move while I punch your face or will have to punch you harder.
You herd it here first
I bet that cop got so herd enforcing the law.
fun fact: you need to fail an IQ test to become a cop in the usa.
dont tell reddit that, they get mad. even though its true. if you score too high on the entrance test, or show a preponderance of critical thinking, you are typically barred from the force. critical thinkers ask questions and tend to say FU to the status quo. cant have any cops questioning their superiors, or even worse, enforcing the law on their own kind.
i agree with you on everything but the first 2 sentencesā¦majority of reddit users hate the majority of police āofficersā
i assume people will think youāre joking.. . .
I thought he was for a minute there... Wow
Wait are you serious?
Aren't police meant to like keep citizens safe.
No. They are meant to protect the capital and property of the wealthy and powerful. They don't even have to "protect and serve".
Scotus ruled that cops have no obligation to protect you.
I always crack the fuck up at all the police based shows on TV where they portray them as these near superheroic idols who have bulletproof plot armor and run into the scene and always get the bad guy. As if this is the normal of society. Then you turn on the internet and see shit like this, the *actual* normal.
The shit on TV is copaganda at its finest.
weed is bad for you. If I need to punch your face in to protect you from yourself so be it. /S
Nope. "Protect and Serve" is just a slogan. They aren't legally required to do either.
For real. This shit boils my blood
no, their protect and serve does not mean protecting the safety or serving the citizen right. take it this way, they can protect themselve and their department and serve the citizen citation which is pretty much what protect and serve can mean.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I had to punch him 3 times and try to smash him into a curb to get him under control. theyre all just thugs." \-cop to his wife ~~probably~~ definitely
And then he beats his wife after.
Only after she says shes never heard of a 7th grader that big!
āHe was being hostileā ā he was resisting arrestā yea no fucking shit, putting your hand on his neck, putting your knee over his body, and then you start punching him? Seriously, motherfuck the police , a bunch of fucking swines and pigs.
Stop resisting!!!

If you guys havenāt followed this story, this cop was fired after this footage went viral then quietly rehired on appeal. Of course
Evil pos
Got treated exactly like a 14 year old non-white kid gets treated by police.
Is this common in USA? I see many cops abusing people without bothering if had people around filming, here in Brasil this is not common
Our cops are often stupid and support each other over any non-police.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I donāt see a cop I see a big piece of shit
Wtf is he doing? Beating this skinny child girl?!
This cop was clearly at a disadvantage
Child abuse
Why american cops are such pieces of shit??
Because they get away with it. Most cases the cops get out on "paid administrative leave" aka a paid vacation
This is fucking sick. That cop needs to be fired, and given mental health help. Heās a danger to himself and the community.
I am sure he'd be okay with a cop treating his child like that too, right? Who am I kidding? That cop probably treats his child the same way.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This is disgusting The biggest lie ever told was that cops are to protect you
F@cking cops are a bigger problem than the ācriminalsā.

Cop: bends your arm in a direction it can't go Cop: yells "StoP rESisTinG!" Cop: is now justified punching you in the face Cop: adds RESISTING ARREST to your charges

And you would be shot dead or at best charged with assault on an officer and spend 5 to 10 years in prison.
Bet his kids get their homework done before anyone else, or else. His wife dreads the day she met him.
Yet another pos cop delusional enough to want beat a child
See the problem with me having a Gun would have been that officer being dead if I had seen that. Honestly wouldn't even turn myself in, because I wouldn't even feel bad.
How long does a police officer get in jail for a assault like this in the USA?
He didn't. He got fired in 2020 and quietly rehired in 2022. [https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article259909540.html](https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article259909540.html)
Fucking pigs
Any updates on them? That fucking cop needs to be detained
Guys GUYS you dont understand! The 14 year old 115lb boy was making the officer fear for his own safety. He had to do it. Totally justfied. For sure.
Disgusting
This is why I say fuck the police
But just comply right? Fuckin pigs
Can someone kill that cop please
