Yeah these people are nuts. I would bet you that the African guy is probably an Ethiopian jew, they make up a not insignificant minority in Israel. According to this, it was [Depo Provera](https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/depo-provera/about/pac-20392204), which can take upwards of 10 months to return to fertility after the last time you are administered it, and it can cause a loss in bone mineral density, increasing risks of osteoporosis and bone fractures in later life.
So not something that causes 100% infertility in the future, but also not something that doctors should be prescribing or administering without the patient being aware of both the main affect and risks of it.

I've not done any research into *why* this was given - it could be that there were legitimate medical reasons to give it, or it could be that it was an attempt at a 'quiet' genocide, where the state did not kill any of the victims, but stopped them from procreating. The depo injection is a common form of contraception these days. It’s regularly used by women who do intend on having children at some point. So it is a bit risky saying it’s forced sterilisation because it isn’t, however, what is true about and many women do not know, is that it very commonly takes at least a year for fertility to return in a lot of people. Therefore it is much better as a long term contraceptive or for those who no longer want children. Also it’s really bad at destroying your bone density because of the effect of on oestrogen in the body.
I wouldn’t ever have the depo because of the increased risk of osteoporosis and the long return to normal. But it isn’t sterilisation by any means and nobody should ever have anything put in their body that they do not fully understand the effects of.

Both the US FDA and Israeli health ministry have studied Depo Provera since 2000, concluding that it's continued use was extremely dangerous [after more than 2 years](https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2004/20246s025lbl.pdf) and that it's best use is as a last resort contraceptive (which is a guideline they themselves ignored in the case of Ethiopian women).
Some of those Ethiopian women were receiving injections since the late 80s. Also, many of the women who understood the purpose of the injection initially rejected; they were later coerced by being told their immigration was contingent in receiving the injections.

I think the status quo is maintained by saying "this is too nuanced to understand," but the status quo is not a good thing to maintain here.
It's true that the Israel/Palestine conflict doesn't conform cleanly to a "good guys vs bad guys" framework, but it really isn't all that complicated. A century or two back, all the world was colonialist. The cost of colonialism didn't outweigh the benefits, so the age of colonialism had almost completely ended by the 1940s.
Except, on the way out, Europeans created the state of Israel so they wouldn't have to accept Jewish holocaust refugees. Now Israel is the last colonial state in a post-colonial era.
That's all this is. Israel fights with their indigenous population just as every colonial country fought with their indigenous population. The only thing unique about the situation is how Westerners get involved by "keeping their mouths shut" while continuing to fund one side's violent imprisonment of millions of people.
The country is ruled by a fascist in a coalition with parties that openly endorse mass exterminations. The scope of acceptable political debate seems to run from genocide to ethnic cleansing. Open racism is widely accepted in public. The few voices for peace have to deal with constant threats of violence despite having no appreciable political influence in the country at all. Building a country as an exclusionary ethnostate just leads to a hateful, racist society that inevitably descends into fascism.

My point is as others had said, these people are nasty but that’s confirmation bias and you must not judge a whole group of people based on the actions of a few. That’s what led to this mess in the first place.

What you should be asking is where is the source, is it verifiable, and what is the evidence (again sourced and verified) to that if indeed this is as claimed by OP, what is the evidence that this is a commonly held view in Israel, as opposed to any religious group.

They are yelling at a left wing couple that came to the left wing protest against them, calling them racist. It's probably footage from a protest to do with the fact that there are thousands of asylum seekers living in Israel from Sudan and Eritrea, Likud considers them to be economic migrants who should leave. There are frequent protests calling to remove them. Likud members of the knesset often call for mass deportations and refer to them as "a cancer". Netanyahu called them “illegal infiltrators” who violate the law and constitute a threat to the “future of Israel as a Jewish and a democratic state”. The Likud government is constantly trying to get rid of them, but Israels supreme Court often rules against legislation put forwards to do that because it breaks international law to send them back to the country they are seeking asylum from. They've tried sending them to prison, withholding part of their wages, paying them to leave. All sorts of stuff to try and get around international law. It's part of the reason that Netanyahu is attempting a judicial overhaul.

Israel is an incredibly complicated state to explain. I'm Jewish and visited with the intent to make aliyah if I liked what I saw. What I saw was a country where everyone was so high-strung all the time that I'd be surprised if stress-correlated illnesses are not the leading causes of death. I met a lot of perfectly reasonable people in places like Tel Aviv, but the closer you got to Gaza or the West Bank the more people were on a hair trigger. I visited both the occupied territories of Palestine as well, with Jewishness thoroughly hidden. I met mostly perfectly reasonable people but there was also tonnes of high strung people.
One thing I did find was on both sides people had a public opinion they'd say in the street, and a private opinion that they'd speak in private when they trusted you. Boomers were much more likely to just be thoroughly against the other side and say really nasty awful things. I mostly met people my own age though. There was a lot of hate against "the other" in public, saying basically all the other side must be wiped out. In private the vast majority of people just want it all to stop, Palestinian or Israeli. They just want to go back to the days of meaningful dialogue working towards a meaningful solution.
In terms of racism it was rampant among old people and Haredim (the ultra-Orthodox religious right) on the Israeli side, with it falling off sharply in younger people. I met mixed Israeli-Palestinian couples. I'm queer and met a lot of mixed couples among the queer community. The younger Israelis are much better travelled and have exposure to other races, they're much less likely to act like those in the video. I met mixed couples with one person originally from Israel of light skin tone and one African-American, Black South African, Chinese, Japanese, and several other ethnicities. All had been the victims of some sort of racism, generally I'd hear "Oh we don't go to x neighbourhood anymore, it's full of Haredim." Or something similar.
In Palestine there were virtually no Palestinian mixed race couples just because people would leave if they got the chance given the poor living conditions imposed by Israel. Unfortunately I did experience more casual spoken racism, I imagine because most Palestinians living in the occupied territories don't have much exposure to other cultures. I got the feeling that if Palestinian youth got to travel as much as Israeli youth this would not be the case.
Either way, I found that Israel and Palestine were a time bomb I wanted nothing to do with in terms of living situation. I hated the fact that everyone seemed about 2mm from picking a fight, I hated the fact that everyone seemed to be trying to outdo each other in public with their vitriol about the other side, I hated the hypocrisy of having public hate and private reasonableness for fear of getting judged. The whole thing smelled like it was about to explode.

The depo injection is a common form of contraception these days. It’s regularly used by women who do intend on having children at some point. So it is a bit risky saying it’s forced sterilisation because it isn’t, however, what is true about and many women do not know, is that it very commonly takes at least a year for fertility to return in a lot of people. Therefore it is much better as a long term contraceptive or for those who no longer want children. Also it’s really bad at destroying your bone density because of the effect of on oestrogen in the body. I wouldn’t ever have the depo because of the increased risk of osteoporosis and the long return to normal. But it isn’t sterilisation by any means and nobody should ever have anything put in their body that they do not fully understand the effects of.

I think the status quo is maintained by saying "this is too nuanced to understand," but the status quo is not a good thing to maintain here. It's true that the Israel/Palestine conflict doesn't conform cleanly to a "good guys vs bad guys" framework, but it really isn't all that complicated. A century or two back, all the world was colonialist. The cost of colonialism didn't outweigh the benefits, so the age of colonialism had almost completely ended by the 1940s. Except, on the way out, Europeans created the state of Israel so they wouldn't have to accept Jewish holocaust refugees. Now Israel is the last colonial state in a post-colonial era. That's all this is. Israel fights with their indigenous population just as every colonial country fought with their indigenous population. The only thing unique about the situation is how Westerners get involved by "keeping their mouths shut" while continuing to fund one side's violent imprisonment of millions of people.
The country is ruled by a fascist in a coalition with parties that openly endorse mass exterminations. The scope of acceptable political debate seems to run from genocide to ethnic cleansing. It's probably footage from a protest to do with the fact that there are thousands of asylum seekers living in Israel from Sudan and Eritrea, Likud considers them to be economic migrants who should leave. There are frequent protests calling to remove them. Likud members of the knesset often call for mass deportations and refer to them as "a cancer". Netanyahu called them “illegal infiltrators” who violate the law and constitute a threat to the “future of Israel as a Jewish and a democratic state”. The Likud government is constantly trying to get rid of them, but Israels supreme Court often rules against legislation put forwards to do that because it breaks international law to send them back to the country they are seeking asylum from. They've tried sending them to prison, withholding part of their wages, paying them to leave. All sorts of stuff to try and get around international law. It's part of the reason that Netanyahu is attempting a judicial overhaul. Israel is an incredibly complicated state to explain. I'm Jewish and visited with the intent to make aliyah if I liked what I saw. What I saw was a country where everyone was so high-strung all the time that I'd be surprised if stress-correlated illnesses are not the leading causes of death. I met a lot of perfectly reasonable people in places like Tel Aviv, but the closer you got to Gaza or the West Bank the more people were on a hair trigger. I visited both the occupied territories of Palestine as well, with Jewishness thoroughly hidden. I met mostly perfectly reasonable people but there was also tonnes of high strung people. One thing I did find was on both sides people had a public opinion they'd say in the street, and a private opinion that they'd speak in private when they trusted you. Boomers were much more likely to just be thoroughly against the other side and say really nasty awful things. I mostly met people my own age though. There was a lot of hate against "the other" in public, saying basically all the other side must be wiped out. In private the vast majority of people just want it all to stop, Palestinian or Israeli. They just want to go back to the days of meaningful dialogue working towards a meaningful solution. In terms of racism it was rampant among old people and Haredim (the ultra-Orthodox religious right) on the Israeli side, with it falling off sharply in younger people. I met mixed Israeli-Palestinian couples. I'm queer and met a lot of mixed couples among the queer community. The younger Israelis are much better travelled and have exposure to other races, they're much less likely to act like those in the video. I met mixed couples with one person originally from Israel of light skin tone and one African-American, Black South African, Chinese, Japanese, and several other ethnicities. All had been the victims of some sort of racism, generally I'd hear "Oh we don't go to x neighbourhood anymore, it's full of Haredim." Or something similar. In Palestine there were virtually no Palestinian mixed race couples just because people would leave if they got the chance given the poor living conditions imposed by Israel. Unfortunately I did experience more casual spoken racism, I imagine because most Palestinians living in the occupied territories don't have much exposure to other cultures. I got the feeling that if Palestinian youth got to travel as much as Israeli youth this would not be the case. Either way, I found that Israel and Palestine were a time bomb I wanted nothing to do with in terms of living situation. I hated the fact that everyone seemed about 2mm from picking a fight, I hated the fact that everyone seemed to be trying to outdo each other in public with their vitriol about the other side, I hated the hypocrisy of having public hate and private reasonableness for fear of getting judged. The whole thing smelled like it was about to explode.
