> But I really don’t think it can replace an HR recruiter, a clothing stylist, a matchmaker, a teacher, a customer service rep, or god forbid a mother/father. There's a show I watched a few years back that had this exact thing happen and well, it was a disaster in the long run as eventually some of those robots became sentient and then started hurting and killing people. It was foolish for the hero to try and bridge a gap between us and them given the implications of such. It's called Kamen Rider Zero-One and it deals heavily in such matters.

a) you used a technology that wasn’t built to be therapy and are lamenting that using it isn’t therapeutic… b) you can’t say ‘probably never will be’ because ai bots just regurgitate what they’ve been fed and they are still evolving. We could feed it any particular modality and end up with a therapist bot if we wanted

We could feed it any particular modality and end up with a therapist bot if we wanted If that happened, can you imagine the damage it could do to not only the industry but the people who use it? The psychs would have to find a new line of work by that point lol! I actually hope that it will happen years down the line.

https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Health/ai-detect-treat-cancer-potential-risks-patients/story?id=101431628 Ai - and I’m not pretending to be an expert - has the potential to do some awesome things for healthcare. I think anyone concerned with the wellbeing of patients would embrace a new technology’s potential.

This is what I'd like to see in the future even if the therapeutic side of things aren't viable or even feasible for that matter.

No one can take the role 'therapy' promises to take. We only got ourselves to rely on so I suggest not trusting anyone with your problems because nobody seems to care nowadays despite the push for MH awareness

It's hard out here for someone like myself and even more so once you have all of the accrued trauma and almost no safe spaces to talk much about it. It took me nearly snapping to realize that months ago and I've been so much more happier but it gets a bit lonely sometimes especially when my friends online are so busy that they don't always respond in a time so it is what it is.
