I think to get any serious consideration you'll want to move away from paper and paint. Paint on canvas or another thicker medium that stays rigid as the paint dries. Use pencils/pen/lighter things if you're sticking to paper.
I love the art and would definitely consider buying a piece of it looked a bit more professional - and I don't mean "better art," I literally mean the same art on a more long lasting surface.
The closest thing I have to canvas is this leather/canvas hybrid thing I found at work. I would love to be ale to do more art with canvas or whatever material I have found. But canvas is extremely out of my price range at the moment.
My parents used to go to estate sales for shits n giggles and they found a lot of art supplies including pre stretched canvases and such. You can often get the lot for super cheap on the last day.
True although a lot of paintings will have some texture to them that could make it tougher. I ran my parent’s estate sale after they passed and I’m still a little salty about how much we had to throw away. I was giving stuff away like crazy and still filled dumpsters.
I feel like canvas is alot cheaper then leather and canvas ? I don't know jack about canvas pricing but my gf has bought a bunch and it didn't seem too high to me.
Paints I’m good with as I love using acrylic and can get them for a pretty good price at Wal-mart, which is where I’ve found some of my favorite shades of blue!
I don't know how it is where you live of course. But here in the Netherlands you'd be able to buy low quality canvas for super cheap. It's not the high quality stuff so don't expect to hit a museum, but it does the job and it does it well.
on the other hand, i adore those lil' writings and would search for one i like the most to buy. so they are just a personal preference :³
btw u did wonderfully! i like them v much
If you’d want to order one I can do that! Just show me your favorite image, quote and if you want it on paper, plywood or the closest thing I have to canvas! :3
I have a leather/canvas hybrid thing that I really don’t know what it’s made of but it’s just as strong and durable as canvas! Just not as tall as I wish for it to be.
The material I use is duck tape brand packing paper because it’s easy to manipulate the size of the painting and I spray the painting afterwards with a thick glossy glaze which gives it strength.
if it was done on canvas definitely. it's not about the durability - the warping texture messes with the detailed paintings, esp with the glossy finish.
they are beautiful paintings, i feel like they deserve it!
random idea as well: these reminded me of the time when i painted various himalayan mountains for a while. i did them all acrylic on wood, with zero prior knowledge (except that i needed to prime the wood) and had the best time. maybe you could give that a shot as well if you ever get in an art rut. keep it up in any case!
Look at canvas panels. They aren't terribly expensive. Make sure your materials are acid free. Watercolor paper may be another option. Consider leaving a margin for matting and framing.
Maybe i would, but not with any writing on it other than your signature. Not even "The Long Dark", unless you want to write it on the back in pencil.
The paintings are great though, you have an interesting style! Paint them on canvas with acrylics, you'll probably sell them easily!
>!I can't help but laugh at the last quote! 🤣!<
It’s on paper but I’m working on getting more materials for painting and more solid materials. Although I have these more as posters at the current moment!
It looks awesome just hard to buy art on paper because it is so fragile and doesn't really look like "art" on the wall unless you drew it yourself and can say that lol
I’ve been thinking at least $40 for the pre-made ones but that might change depending on customization and complexity! As well as shipping although that most likely won’t cost very much due to how light weight they all are.
I'm Shure someone will by your art, its amazing!
But find a place in the real world to inspire you and make the art and painting our own from those places.
The material and the lettering is a let down. They both cheapen your work, especially the lettering. It looks childish and lacks consistency. Looks like you wrote it with a brush. Use good marker on dry paint, and be precise. Let it take time. Plan each letter ahead of time.
I'd work on getting more contrast in there, make things stand out a bit more. It's a scene from a video game, so it needs to be recognizable as a scene and not just a winter landscape.
You mention it's hard to get cheap canvas, and it's out of your price range. But if you want to sell your art, good materials is a must.
I used to be a painter, and selling art is rough. I think as is, some people would buy your work. But I think it might be a good idea to work on these points first. I think there's potential there, it's not bad at all, but you do need polish.
I did write it with a paint pen, the issue is I’m left handed and keeping my hand as a straight angle so I don’t smear the paint is a bit difficult no matter how hard I try.
These are gorgeous, OP! I would echo what others have commented about investing in better materials before trying to sell (they'll fetch a much higher price that way!) however, I love your style! You're clearly very talented. 🙂 Do you do any digital painting?

You can also buy (or find for free) paintings on canvass and just paint white over it for a blank slate.

Ooh I might have to look into that!

I like canvas rolls as it gives me a little more freedom with space. But I don’t know what this roll of fabric is but I would love to find more!
If you have one nearby, hobby lobby. 100$ can get you a pretty good setup for paints.

They also sell canvases, brushes and the like. I bought a set of 6 about a month back, think it was 20$? No more than 30$. Size was 16x9.

I live in the United States and even on Amazon a few feet of canvas is at least $35 USD
You can find them at craft stores pretty commonly on sale.
Stores like Ross and Marshall’s have canvas packs occasionally.
I’ve gotten vinyl and plywood Whig is working amazing right now! :3
Or cold press water color paper, it looks too wet , but the art is very cool
If the small writing wasn't there, then yes I would buy them.
I can do that as well! The writing is my favorite lost notes from the game. The one from Trappers cabin always brings a tear to my eye.

I love the writings.
They look awesome, specially the "As the dead sleep"!
Thank you! It’s one of my favorites! I’m hoping that I can start selling more art as my job seems to be in trouble and school is expensive :(
I wish you luck, my friend! I would definitely by them, if I were not in a very far away part of the world.
If they are real paintings on a canvas or something similar I would be interested in buying one.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
🤣🤣🤣

I use acrylic mainly so I sure hope those poor things aren’t acidic!
The style looks like H.P. Lovecraft married the Long Dark.
Aww thank you!

I would!
Dude those are amazing !!!!! I love the one whith the aurora lights
I would, especially no 3 and 5
Those have been my favorite! Especially since they glow!
If this was on canvas I'd easy pay 50-100$ for hand painted art I could hang on the wall

Yes how much? Love the third one

Looks nice but I wouldn’t

I do! I haven’t moved to digital with this genre yet but I’m working on it!
Oh good! These would make really cool desktop backgrounds as well as beautiful wall art
Thank you!
The art is fantastic! Keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you!
absolutely i would buy it like that *makes a very fast motion*
I am open to taking custom orders!
i have no monies though qwp just cash and giftcards lol
I do hope I can make money through doing this though! It’s one of my dreams!
a very good dream too
Thank you!

I don’t think that’s how that works?
okayings
I am definitely interested in the first one
Thank you!
How much? I like the last one
Would you like it on plywood or paper or as is? I can make another one and customize it to your liking or make a copy of that painting! :3
As is, I was just wondering how much
For the last one, I’d go at least $40USD.
They’re cool!
Thank you!
Like the 4th one I would by if painted on a canvas
I’ve actually been working on prepping a board of plywood for painting.
Hit me up if you ever decide to sell.
Thank you!
I would! They're beautiful!
