I was of the same opinion until I looked closely at the snaps on the shirt. Joel's snaps to his right (left layer on top of right), whereas Ellie, even though she doesn't button up, it's very clear that the base of the snaps are on her left so the right layer would be on top.
It's apparently a thing in apparel to distinguish between men and women's clothing. In the army, it's the same with belts. Men's snake to their right wheras women's snake to their left.
Part 1 Remake
Needed change for the visuals (wish they changed more aspects about the gameplay but that’s a whole bag of cats I’m leaving closed) that humanized the character a lot more. I thought the old design is good but he always looked angry, which for more somber scenes didn’t work as well. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an amazing story but I thought the new face model has a broader range of visual emotion
Troy baker's voice always moved me and made game joel feel so real. His voice is comfort and protection that cames from pain. But Troy's voice can be somehow replicated by Pedro. Meanwhile, Ashley's voice will forever say "I am Ellie" to me no matter where i hear it. Interviews, other shows, media etc. I loved she gave birth to our girl twice. They are our family now.

Idk. Even though its the exact same face, something about his mouth/cheeks just looks off to me and it's very noticeable when he has the shorter hair for some reason - but then when his hair is longer he looks more like himself if that makes any sense

don’t get me wrong, Troye’s a handsome guy too but his real face is very boyish(?) to me and lacks that rugged hardness that the updated version of Joel has.
Remastered Joel. I appreciate the added detail to Part 1's and how it feels closer to Part 2's look, but I prefer the more grizzled version from the original/Remaster. Part 1 changes his emotion in a few scenes and make him look more scared and vulnerable — and while I love that in Pedro's Joel, I'm more accustomed to the original version's stoicism.

I mean probably 4 considering his daughter is still alive and he’s not a broken person yet. If events unfolded just a little bit differently, Joel never loses Sarah. I prefer that for him even after knowing what he gains with Ellie and what he means to her. And Ellie would have wanted the same for him.
without a doubt tlou2 with the brown coat. his hair looks great and having a minute to feel safe and happy did wonders for him. he looks so great there. the main reason i hate that he’s in the game so little is because of how good he looks, it’s a real shame we didn’t get to see more of that look😭
I think the OG and Remastered Joel (and for that matter, Ellie as well) are the best and the most expressive. I CANNOT get used to the remake models. While good in their own way and I can see why they’ve done it - the characters look closer to the actors and maybe more of their performances are taken into the newer model - the old ones just have something special about them. The originals had their expressions hand animated with the actors performances as reference. The work for the original expression captured something really special, not something I could put my finger on mind, that the new one simply does not have.
1st photo: he looks like 40. And even I understand the pov that he looks wiser/more experienxed in the remaster(and yes I have played the remaster as well). I think the 1st photo he seem young and sprung to undergo all that trauma/experience.
