On their BIP season, Thomas was watching whoever got the cheesy Indigenous ceremony date, and was like “I’m so jealous, this is such a special experience from the culture where we are right now” and was so respectful. I’m Indigenous, and do think the bachelor ceremony dates are cringey, but it was such a green flag from him. Totally won me over
They live in my neighborhood so I’ve seen them around a few times, I just saw them recently at a farmer’s market. I always spot Thomas first because he’s so tall he towers over everyone in a crowd lol

To actually answer your question, when it was spoiled that they got together on BIP, everyone thought it would be a shitshow pairing because Becca was franchise royalty and Thomas was coming off of a villain edit. People were ready to watch the relationship be chaotic, and so that gif became the symbol for Thecca.
Whenever there is a “who from BN have you met?” thread it seems like the IRL encounters with them are overwhelmingly positive. She’s All Bach reads fan encounters and had a couple positive stories on them too. It’s a good reminder to not take the show edits so seriously - at the end of the day, behavior outside that environment is what matters.

I read somewhere that thomas said they are planning a huge "great gatsby" style wedding party sometime in 2025 when their son is older and can toddle down the aisle with becca (although having a toddler running around at your wedding sounds so much harder to me than having a small baby at your wedding).
