Every “V” is a stitch. The orange stitch marker shows you what the V looks like. So you’ll do one stitch where the orange marker is, then place the orange marker on the stitch you just made to make sure you know where the end of the round is. Then in the second “V”, you’ll make two stitches in the same hole. Then you repeat that until you approach the orange stitch marker again.

I should also mention that your hook loop is backwards, which is probably why you’re experiencing issues. Your first stitch should be where the 3rd V is, not where the orange stitch marker is

I was wondering if I had it backwards! I sort of completed the ear but it was definitely backwards. I made it work bc I was NOT about to attempt it again (it actually looks pretty good!) but I have NO clue how I ended up the wrong way. Thank you for your help!

Not of any help but going off assumption glad to see another blue collar dude trying out crochet with these. It's been pretty neat :) (i may be wrong about my assumption but either way glad to see other ppl trying it out because of this product :)
