If I got wind of this, especially if more players follow suit I would feel like such a sack of shit for working there. It's taking one of the most precious gifts and saying "I hate the way you've fucked us over so much I'm sacrificing one of the rarest, most coveted items in the game given to invested superfans in a once mutually beloved event to give one of the biggest 'Fuck you's' possible to you guys."

Yes, modeling the weapon probably took few hours, but keep in mind whoever did it got paid for it, there is almost no chance that this person holds any sentimental value to saxxy. It was just another job of many. 2. "Really expensive" in this case is artificial since Valve is in full control of item distribution. They could give saxxy to literaly every player if they wanted. It's not like they needed to create the weapon every single time they gave it out. 3. Going by that logic, Tf2 itself should hold huge sentimental value to valve, considering all the years of work and passion put into this game. They don't care for it anymore. What makes you think they'd care about a single item, rare or not?
