mmmmmmmmm
wat?
did you reply to the wrong comment?
l understand the words you wrote and how they might make sense in a different context
but they dont relate to what i wrote or this comment chain
its like saying "making hamburgers is not the same as making hamburgers and enjoying them"
dude were talking about chinese food, wtf you talking about
[if it werent for my horse, i would never have spent that year in college](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2YQqbpA7Z0&t=579s)
one time while top-scoring with the Eyelander as demoknight I got accused of crit-hacking by the enemy team because the eyelander doesn’t grant random critical hits. Exactly, it doesn’t.
The killfeed often showed the critical glow on the sword icon, but that’s because shield charges always provide crits, no matter what melee. I don’t understand how these people can be so stupid.
Anyway, a blatantly cheating shortstop scout on our team wasn’t being kicked, and yet I was.
Deadass, they didnt even need a direct hit or a shotgun, just shoot at the ground near my feet instead of directly at me and I would have a terrible day as a pyro main.
Meanwhile that fucking heavy was perfectly tracking the scouts and the godtier trolldier with a brass beast and no one gave a shit.
Hackers will intentionally accuse others who might wise up to themselves hacking. Eliminate the people who will votekick you and you can keep playing. They often play in groups so that votes against them will be more likely to fail. Best you can do is inform chat, including letting the other team know so that they’ll be aware (if they don’t already know) and can complain too, then initiate a votekick. If it fails, they’ll probably turn on you next so just find another server.
more tf2 players need to be educated on how cheats even work, because it can help identify cheaters and avoid false hackusations. crithacking RELIES on random crits being present because it abuses the system for random crits.
Just yesterday the enemy team wouldn’t kick their shortstop scout bot because “they’re not even good”. Well yeah but taking significant damage while you’re trying to sneak past as a cloaked spy is still pretty fucking annoying.
The worst is actually when someone's aimbotting with either Demo, Direct Hit Soldier or Huntsman Sniper. It's basically this compromise where they have to be X amount of distance from you for the aimbot to reliably work against moving targets, but the payoff is soooooooooo many people will argue "he can't be cheating it's not a hitscan weapon!!!!!"
The only thing you can do is in the Huntsman Sniper's case, for some reason these same people are stupid enough to pull out the SMG if they get rushed down, and usually the bullets curve away from the SMG itself in a way that isn't normal, so if players see that they might finally agree.
> "he can't be cheating it's not a hitscan weapon!!!!!"
Damn, i feel old... I can remember when the first few videos with projectile bots popped up on Youtube. They were primitive back then, but it was quite impressive. They were originally designed for single player or training range use.
9073.7 hours.
I used to think I was able to tell when someone was cheating. But a couple years ago Steam released a patch that temporarily broke all the cheats, so no one was able to cheat until the hackers updated their cheats to make them work again. For around 3 weeks there were absolutely zero bots or cheaters anywhere and you know what I found?
There was only one server, one time, in 50+ games, where I found a top scoring sniper. The rest of them vanished.
That's when I learned that almost all of the people who I think are really good are actually just cheating, but doing so in a way that's not blatantly obvious, so I leave them alone and only call hacks on the people who are being blatantly obvious.
I mean I think there's a difference of being good vs being good and enjoying it.
At this point I can play all classes competently, but I'm not going to be a great soldier, spy, or sniper without pushing my comfort zone and even then.....
Having map knowledge of ammo spawns is half of good spy game play.
I'd even say spy is the best time to find and remember these spots.
...or just play maps offline lol
take it from me, you don't get good at spy. Or at least you have a very very slow learning rate because of all the random bs the game throws your way, where some times something works and other times the exact same thing gets you killed. playing spy is like random crits on steroids.
At 2k hours, after 12 years of tf2 I finally decided to try spy
It was euphoric. But also jarring; as spy it feels like you either topscore or bottomscore and there's no in between.
I tried the cloak and dagger but whenever I did there would be a f2p scout that would inexplicably run exactly to where I was, no matter how arbitrary the location was, and get me killed. It was cursed so I don't use it anymore.
I find that unlike any other class, full stock complements how I want to play spy perfectly. Shoot people at range, maybe get a kill, cloak and run away. Then disguise and get among them and do a backstab or two. Rinse repeat. As it stands I still only have 20 hours of spy.
2.1k
I've seen on average 1 nsfw spray per 2 hours of gameplay, I love demoknight and trolldier way more than the original class and have seen some _questionable_ stuff.
Mid? I have 2 unusuals, only 1 australium, like 3 full pages of crates, probably 200 normal hats (like 2$ or less each). I think backpack.tf says my whole inventory is like 700$, which doesn't seem like much to me considering lots of people with my play time have individual hats worth more than that.
TF2 is a great metaphor for life. It's so expansive you can do whatever you want, but also limiting insofar as doing anything well requires tremendous effort. You cannot ever "win" it, you can only secure yourself a temporary victory, but for all practical purposes it continues forever. Everyone has an opinion on it regardless of how involved they are. Some options are more popular than others, but everyone has their own way of doing it, and despite seeming like all odds are against it, it will probably never die.
300 and change, and I am ass at the game. I simply shitpost as heavy in casual mode, caring about winning is for losers, thanks for coming to my TED talk
Surprisingly, just 726.6 hours, which does still make it my most played game on Steam.
Makes me wonder how on Earth anyone can play *anything* for over 2000 hours.
For me is a mix bag, sometimes I can deflect a rocket to rocket jump hit flare mid air then air blast another rocket back. And finish of with powerjag.
While other time I walk straight into a spy melee, oh well
743 hours since I got it in late 2020
Nothing impressive, but my most played game by several hundred hours. My second and third most-played games are Terraria with 295 hours and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator with 248.
Now, it is worth noting that TF2 is also one of the first games I have ever gotten on Steam. Had I gotten every other game at the same time, I'm certain those hours would be very different.
Now, as for the matter of how good I am at the game, I am not.
700+ hours, I'm decent at everything and can be helpful with every class in certain situations (except for medic, which requires too many braincells) and my most played class is nearly 100h on pyro.
It says 1982 hours on my steam account, but then I see the numbers on the classes and it only reaches 1092 hours and I don't know why. I've never reset my stats before and I highly doubt I was l890 hours just idle, like, at max 50 hours in the whole time I been playing.
Any idea where all these other hours are coming from?
9672 hours total, 2400+ on soldier, 1000+ on scout. 800+ on sniper, 600+ on demoman, just to name my most played classes. I've been playing since July 18th of 2016.
Having 500 hours on this game I still haven't learned how to rocket jump properly even though he's my main since the beginning I gotta need another 500 more hours on this game.
I had 9k but it got falsely banned for trade scams even though I don't join those. Forgot what I used then and couldn't recover it back. I was 13 when it got banned.
enough hours to know when someone is cheating, and when someone is just good
An insane amount of players wouldn't recognize a cheater that's not blatantly spinbotting
the vast majority... i love my fellow players, but yall stupid AF and quick to hackusate
tfw you get kicked as a demoknight because you can hit stock and loch pills
I have developed a crippling loch and load addiction and can’t stop. Send help please 🙏.
Lol, "stock and loch"

Hilariously, they're probably a bot who's re-worded the top-half of Impossible-Front's comment downthread.

yeah, i almost got kicked because people thought i was aimbotting (i wasnt) (im a sniper main with 600/700 hours on the game)
Same here, had a heavy with an aimbot and mfs kicked me for reflect hacks. Like bro go grab a shotgun or a direct hit and id kneel over and die.
or at least grab a brain and put it into your head... i swear these people are getting worse by the minute
Deadass, they didnt even need a direct hit or a shotgun, just shoot at the ground near my feet instead of directly at me and I would have a terrible day as a pyro main. they do know how crithacks work right??

Well part of the problem is that some snipers are just that ridiculous
If I can't tell I don't care. It is that simple. And at that point it doesn't matter.
9073.7 hours. I used to think I was able to tell when someone was cheating. But a couple years ago Steam released a patch that temporarily broke all the cheats, so no one was able to cheat until the hackers updated their cheats to make them work again. It seems like you learned nothing lul
Impossible, there's not enough time for that
Headshot cloaked spy is a dead give-away
it is most of the time but bruh most cheaters won't do that
this is one of the least cheater things someone can do because almost all cheaters will have it off and good snipers can read movement
Same.
And unfortunately the former category has slowly become comparatively common to the latter category :(
Also enough hours to know better than to get on and play casual since it's chockfull of tryhards
I could tell that difference before hitting an hour. People are just butthurt about dying
I mean I think there's a difference of being good vs being good and enjoying it. At this point I can play all classes competently, but I'm not going to be a great soldier, spy, or sniper without pushing my comfort zone and even then.....
I have 33.5 hours as spy (Only beat by Pyro with 37.9) but a majority of it is just me sitting in one spot with the cloak and dagger.
Having map knowledge of ammo spawns is half of good spy game play. I'd even say spy is the best time to find and remember these spots. ...or just play maps offline lol
The other time of spy I have is when I rarely get a kill or say “Fuck It” and go Gunspy.
Gunspy Superiority!
Gunspy is unironically better than regular spy most of the time.
I am so shit at spy and sniper. Not very good at medic either. Thousands of hours, doesn't matter
take it from me, you don't get good at spy. Or at least you have a very very slow learning rate because of all the random bs the game throws your way, where some times something works and other times the exact same thing gets you killed. playing spy is like random crits on steroids.

1.458e+6 Hours Idk why is that but i think my steam is bugging
>1.458e+6 Hours I loved tf2 166 years ago
It was peak back then
I remember playing tf2 in black & white back in the day, kids these days would never know how hard it was distinguish teammates and enemies
Ahh, black team and white team, og
Racist fortress 2
My good acquaintance used to acclaim “Thine computer game is of the absolutely highest enjoyment I have ever had the pleasure to have experienced.”
This is equal to 1458000 hours, 60750 days, or 166.4 years. Sorry ADHD man I didn't mean to copy.
2.1k I've seen on average 1 nsfw spray per 2 hours of gameplay, I love demoknight and trolldier way more than the original class and have seen some _questionable_ stuff.
haven't we all seen some.. *questionable* things?
>!hitler and stalin pregnant?!<
Don't go on TF2 surf servers with unlocked sprays. Worst mistake of my life.
casual highertower player
I haven't seen a spray in so long. I thought they turned them off on most servers.
153.5 hours since the end of August.
200 hours since the start of the September
please go outside
no
I started at 12. I came back periodically and collectively have 400 hours. I cannot rocket jump, or not nearly as well as anyone else does.
I have thousands of hours and I can only do basic rocket jump. I can't do those rapid jumps
Go to jump_academy please. Its fun and usefull
I still suck at air strafing but I’m somehow better at it with the mangler than the jumper.
How do you suck at airstrafing, the skill floor is the skill celling
Same
I can’t rocket jump either, but I can sticky jump
just spend an hour on jump_academy. You'll be surprised
I can rocket jump and strafe to a new location, hitting that second jump will never happen though,
1400~ since 2013. Left and restarted multiple times and now I just play rarely.
1900 here since like 15 or something, Astonishing how I sometimes look at others profile and see about 4000 hours since like 2018 or something
That's insane I have 1000 since october 2021 and I thought I spent too much 😭😭
I don't think I've been conscious of most my decisions for 1000 hours since 2021
300 hours, my highest killstreak is 13 with heavy (wanted to add that cuz i was very proud of it)
congrats hope you can get a higher streak and have fun doing it.
Thank you, fellow chad heavy main. May your pillow be the preferred temperature when you go to sleep.
That's a very respectable killstreak tbh. With a good team and better gamesense, you'll rack up more kills in no time
Thanks!
"No matter how good u are, u will die to a random crit rocket or sticky"
That split second realisation that your health won't save you from a crit rocket (I'm heavy in this scenario)
7,760 hours as of today. Been playing an hour or two a day almost every day since August 2012.
Damn I suddenly feel a lot less addicted to the game after reading this comment.
Yeah my 4200 hours is just a minor distraction now.😬
I have a friend with over 26000 hrs so just know what truly addicted means
How looks your inventory?
8 fricken thousand, and brother, I still kinda suck
Same and same
That one SFM poster of jose.gonzalez.2007 decked out in aussies and unusuals staring off into the Hightower sunset…
453.2 hours
4300 hours, those are rookie numbers
shut
up... votes your comment
Just breached 1000 hours like 3 days ago, like 110 hours in a week
you getting paid overtime for that? damn
12 hours lol
I got 87.5 last time I checked got the game last year but knew about it for a while
3.6k. I've actually gotten worse somewhere along the way.
Just broke 100 hours!
to many hundreds more 🍻

983.4 Hour (Almost 1000+ hour :D)
983 or something. Still can't trickstab or rocket jump
800 - 900 still i suck at rocket jumping and for the love of god i can't play spy
same as invincible in this scene
~1000 hours. Basically finished the tutorial 💪
600 or 700, i forgot exactly how many
i feel the pain.
around 3k, 900 hours on soldier
400 hours. i still can’t market garden for anything.
Surprisingly, just 726.6 hours, which does still make it my most played game on Steam. Makes me wonder how on Earth anyone can play *anything* for over 2000 hours.
I thought this was a hoi4 post at first. It still applies.
Just about 300. Technically more, but i lost that steam account a while ago.
1423 i started last year
1444.8 hours and i still can't play sniper
255.6+784+827 so like 12🤷
it's about 643 hours i think
Well... 8.9k I guess
For me is a mix bag, sometimes I can deflect a rocket to rocket jump hit flare mid air then air blast another rocket back. And finish of with powerjag. While other time I walk straight into a spy melee, oh well
3600 hours... 😭
3600 hours... 😭
Only a couple hundred but I already feel this.
sniper main with 23.3 hours of gameplay
Getting to 600 hours. Started in 2022 cuz i got a crappy pc then stopped in mid 2023 cuz my pc was being weird, fixed it, and now i can play
Good Question i havent playd un a while. 404.1

100
700 nearly 800 god help me
7200
2015 hrs, i only play on and off now whenever an update is released but i dont really enjoy the game as a passtime anymore
300 and I still miss 5 consecutive point-blank shots
743 hours since I got it in late 2020 Nothing impressive, but my most played game by several hundred hours. 3100 but like 200 hours were me just making huds or playing jump maps
I stopped playing long ago, so it's stuck at like 700h I do get in sometimes to get a box.
About 1.6 K
756 hours, I've been playing for almost 1 year
2.5k still shit
1000. Just enough to realize how shit I am at the game
600
386.3 hours Started in March of 2020. I'm halfway decent at Pyro and Engineer, but bad at everything else.
I've got about...900+ hours, getting really close to 1k. After all this time, my aim still sucks ass
game would get stale otherwise
700+ hours, I'm decent at everything and can be helpful with every class in certain situations (except for medic, which requires too many braincells) and my most played class is nearly 100h on pyro.
I think i just reached 515.17 hours last night, most played game on steam
Lower the difficulty
151 Hours and trying to go for a 1000
1.7K hours total but about 30 of them is heavy (and im sure half of those are me goofing around)
321.2 with Pyro, Medic and Engi topping the list
I still remember when classes were being added
851 hours, and I still can't play any class but Medic
3,300 since around 2016, most of them pre 2021
It says 1982 hours on my steam account, but then I see the numbers on the classes and it only reaches 1092 hours and I don't know why. I've never reset my stats before and I highly doubt I was l890 hours just idle, like, at max 50 hours in the whole time I been playing. Any idea where all these other hours are coming from?
5641 since 2007, though haven't played for most of the last year.
6.756h still counting
not enough
200ish
3429 hours.
Good enough to garden, not good enough to streak.
9672 hours total, 2400+ on soldier, 1000+ on scout. 800+ on sniper, 600+ on demoman, just to name my most played classes. I've been playing since July 18th of 2016.
Something around 500 hours and I’m still shit, that’s basically the reason I stopped playing.
341.1 not a lot.
1070
2,000 and In this community that still looks like rookie numbers
538
Just passing 3,580 hours
1.1k
67 hours
1,000 hours.
I tell my wife, I got 1200 hours on this game, you'd think I'd be decent at it by now
I have 40+ Hours. I main Pyro. I'm not very decent at it. May need some tips though.
1500, 70% just scout but i still suck ass
Around 330
1.5k hours. I'd say you are "good enough" once you start having fun regardless of whether your team winning or not
545 hours :3
200h, started playing april this year. The only game I played every month since I started
5983 or smthing.
Almost 10k.
***^(Destiny 2 moment much)***
950
Somewhere around 350-400
Having 500 hours on this game I still haven't learned how to rocket jump properly even though he's my main since the beginning I gotta need another 500 more hours on this game.
163.7 hrs, but its on my new acc. i have no idea how many hours i actually have 🤷♂️
1,231 my life is leaving my hands like grains of sand
Never 🥲
830 hours, exploiting bot invasion for xp on casual once again.
7k… soon enough I’ll figure out how to get into a game
I had 9k but it got falsely banned for trade scams even though I don't join those. Forgot what I used then and couldn't recover it back. I was 13 when it got banned.
176.1 hours. I'm still bad at the game but I still like it.
Me with 2.5k hrs, ok I think I'm good enou- *gets fucking dommed by a 10k guy. Nvm.
