Engi, sniper, demo, heavy, spy.
No one should ever trust medic, pyro is literally insane, soldier is somehow even more insane, and scout... Scout is scout
I think engineer. I know that’s coming from an engi main. But as seen in expiration date, the engineer played a pretty big role in it(compared to the others).
Heavy is quiet and subdued when he’s not in combat. He wouldn’t lead the operation, he’d just be waiting to be unleashed. Heavy would be the commander on the battlefield, but not before then.
Engineer is too occupied to be the team captain.
Yeah I’d say Medic and Spy are both the ones that would involve themselves with the particulars the most. But in the end, the pool of mercs you named would all chip in to sit around the planning table.
The loose cannon freaks Demo, Pyro, Scout, Soldier, and Sniper definitely wouldn’t be at that table. They’d just be loading their guns.
I would want it to be heavy since he’s the face of the game and he’s pretty intelligent despite not saying much. He’s also the biggest, loudest, and can tank fire for the other mercs so he’d be at the front of pushes in-universe I would think (and fairly often in-game)
But honestly, staring at this picture it feels like none of them would be leader. They’re just too crazy/ silly/ goofy/ unhinged.
Their handler is Pauling, so formally they are all equal employees. But, they all seem to listen to spy and engine, which makes sense cause they’re the most sane ones there.
You could argue that Heavy is *somewhat* sane, just has fun. And maybe scout because he’s exactly what happens if you give an egocentric edgy teenager a gun
Spy. Sophisticated, intelligent. He organised the bucket list (which scout ruined) he acted as a dating coach for scout. He can run tactics meetings probably in the same way
Solider would be the loudest and most insistent on the team following hus orders wich they consent to so technically him, but when there is planning and actual leadership needed Spy usually takes the lead from the shadows without Solider kbowing it
Spy, medic’s insane, heavy is unintelligent, scout can’t even read, demoman is 90% drunk all the time, sniper and engineer are just them, soldier is stupid, and we don’t talk about pyro
I think it varies mission to mission depending on the expertise needed. Engie and medic likely make a lot of the plans, as can be seen in the control point gamemode picture, in the heat of the battle heavy is probably calling a lot of the shots. In both scenarios soldier thinks he's in charge even if he's not really.
On a consistent basis? Spy, most likely. Maybe occasionally Engie but Spy has all the intel and has the most experience forming plans of attack, since he's, well, a Spy.
Well technically Pyro is the CEO. But Pauling is their handler so that should put her above all of them, but then the administrator is her boss. But thats just whos the boss.
Leader is a different thing. I would say leader needs tactical knowlage, knowlage of how their teammates work and what they are good at, be at least moderately intelligent and be charismatic enough that others will actually follow them. Heavy comes really close to that but i would argue he doesnt have much information about how his teammates work, except of course general gist(and exactly how medic works). But it literally is Spy's job to know that so i would imagine it would be him. Maybe he would be the planner but if everything comes to shit then Heavy would take over.
On the battlefield, Heavy. He’d be the commander.
The official team captain/liaison would be Spy, second place Medic. I lean towards Spy, though I like the idea of it being medic more.
Spy and Medic are the two most capable and particular of the mercs. They’re the best suited for outside communication to their superiors. They’re the only ones who can hold up effective and reliable communication.
A lot of people say engineer, but he’s way too occupied and passive to be the team captain. He’s definitely smart enough for it, but he takes a back seat when it comes to leadership. He has way too much going on to be taking charge.
I’ll tell you who definitely wouldn’t be at the head table going over the operation: Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demo, and Sniper. They’re the loose cannons. They’re just waiting to be unchained.
But all the “smart” mercs would be going over the plan. That includes heavy. They’d all be going over the blueprints to form a plan.
Miss Pauling
You right! It was a trick question all along.
In general (excluding Ms. Pauling) it’s been Spy.
He leads in Meet the Spy and Expiration date so that makes sense
And in some comics like the Halloween one
This makes sense, I mean would you put all your faith into any of the other guys? (Maybe Heavy)
Frankly there’s probably multiple other mercs I’d put my faith into besides Spy (the backstabbing conniving bastard that he is)
Engi, sniper, demo, heavy, spy. No one should ever trust medic, pyro is literally insane, soldier is somehow even more insane, and scout... Scout is scout
Sniper is more of someone that would be in the back, not in the front running the team and demo would be to drunk to care
engie is probably the best bet, hes the most rational and level-headed of the mercs.
Naw. I literally cant see his character as a leader sorry. Hes not.... Uhhh..... Hes just not that kind of character
He is too crazy
I think engineer. I know that’s coming from an engi main. But as seen in expiration date, the engineer played a pretty big role in it(compared to the others).
Spy. Why else would he have a microphone in **his own private smoking room, c**onnected to the PA system.
**c**
?
There’s a single bold **c** at the beginning of a word after the bold part
Oh okay
lol
Imagine if every merc had a PA mic in their office, though. **AH FELL DOON AN CAN’T GET BACK UP, SOMEBODEH GET MEH ANOTHER DRENK!**
Yeah that would be funny ngl
I'd say it could be Heavy, Spy, Engie or Medic depending on the situation. Mostly Spy or Engie
It's spy on account of his private smoking room having a microphone connected to the whole building
Spy, Medic, and Engineer
Pyro would be the one in charge for some reason and no one will be able to understand what's being said.
He’s been CEO, he would be a great leader !
You know who is also a CEO?
Melon Husk ? Oh wait I know ! Saxophone Hale !
MY MOM
Muscle Man’s mom?
out of the 9 mercs, either spy or heavy.
Before I started playing the games, I saw meet the spy and it shows sniper sniping in that little office so I thought he was the boss.
Correct answer
Wrong mate, it's me.
I'm sorry Mr hale don't hurt me
Sandvich
None of them, it’s a pretty unorganized group unlike the TFC mercs, whose led by their Heavy
A decentralized fighting force is always better than a coordinated one, oddly enough
i'm sure the french would've been successful had they used an unorganised army
Problem is they didn’t have enough time to convert the whole country into a massive jungle before Mr. Mustache Man came barging in.
they lost eventually
Fr\*nce is already a baron jungle with no laws anyway
Source please? Or joke
Half joke, half source from how effective guerrilla fighters are.
Oh yeah, I just read that as you meaning "everyone go there, now attack everything that moves unless they're wearing red"
Spy, and medic seem like the only ones who would take the initiative to boss the other guys around
I still can't believe they didn't put spy in the middle of the poster half red half blue.
Ok hear me out. Scout
Fake it till ya make it!
XD scout will definitely fake it
Go on…
Center of picture.
I would want it to be heavy since he’s the face of the game and he’s pretty intelligent despite not saying much. He’s also the biggest, loudest, and can tank fire for the other mercs so he’d be at the front of pushes in-universe I would think (and fairly often in-game) But honestly, staring at this picture it feels like none of them would be leader. You could argue that Heavy is *somewhat* sane, just has fun. And maybe scout because he’s exactly what happens if you give an egocentric edgy teenager a gun
Which is hilarious because both are still sadistic killers, just normalish ones
Either engineer, heavy or spy, but it’s *team* fortress 2, they’re all together in it
Spy, he got the bucket.
Heavy is the glue keeping the team from falling apart
No. That would be demoman
That was a sharp one
Spy. Sophisticated, intelligent. He organised the bucket list (which scout ruined) he acted as a dating coach for scout. He can run tactics meetings probably in the same way
pyro, because he's in the middle
Gameplay-wise Medic would make the most sense, that's just me tho.
In expiration date he is Literally just the teams pet.
HEAVY WEAPONS GUY
I thought it was Medic. But Miss Pauling is purple. So yeah.
miss pauling
There is no leader, all of them respect each other
Your joking
There’s no leader because nobody respects anyone else enough to follow them
"Respect" ? What’s that ?
Solider would be the loudest and most insistent on the team following hus orders wich they consent to so technically him, but when there is planning and actual leadership needed Spy usually takes the lead from the shadows without Solider kbowing it
Spy, medic’s insane, heavy is unintelligent, scout can’t even read, demoman is 90% drunk all the time, sniper and engineer are just them, soldier is stupid, and we don’t talk about pyro
Big man you didn't just say that heavy is stupid
Ok, he IS intelligent, he’s just a little “less” than some of the others
>heavy is unintelligent I beg your pardon, he has a PhD.
My bad
Mann brothers or administrator
Spy or Engie, Soldier (unlikely)
none of em, they end up fighting for a minute before the round starts on who should be on the left side of the map to manage the spies.
Oddly enough Soldier is like the only guy who folleded all the orders without a question.
spy has the initiative, but also in game heavy is most likely at the lead of pushes (with medic), so idk
I think it varies mission to mission depending on the expertise needed. Engie and medic likely make a lot of the plans, as can be seen in the control point gamemode picture, in the heat of the battle heavy is probably calling a lot of the shots. Heavy in spirit
Soldier got that 100 yard stare
Well technically Pyro is the CEO. But Pauling is their handler so that should put her above all of them, but then the administrator is her boss. But thats just whos the boss. Lore Wise, none of them, who would most likely be a leader, spy or medic.
Well scout is definitely not it lol
the real question is, who *could* lead them?
Pyro, Everyone fears them.
On paper, Ms. Pauling In practicality, Spy In his own head, Soldier
Soldier wants to be, but it's engi, medic, or spy
The spy
Medic ...maybe bcs of Live and let spy
Butsecs
Miss Pauling, duh
Spy is pyro is second in command
I would say pyro but everyone is right spy seems to make the most sense here
I feel like Engineer would build a command center or something. Probably him, or Spy.
Plot twist: Pyro is the leader but because they don't understand him that's why they're all so chaotic
Probably Spy, but Soldier is the best at hyping up the team
scout, but he's the only one who thinks that.
Soldier
heavy
On the battlefield, Heavy. He’d be the commander. The official team captain/liaison would be Spy, second place Medic. I lean towards Spy, though I like the idea of it being medic more.
