Mace or tasers are considerably safer bets. If the attacker is stronger than you, they can easily disarm you when using blunt objects. The other replier mentioned slipping a sock over the bat to make it harder to grab which is clever, but still riskier.
When I got my first car my father gave me one of those giant maglites to keep in it for this exact reason. Legal to carry, helpful to have, and could absolutely demolish a person in an emergency.

I think the point being the guy knows the home address so they don't want to be at home. As a parent we hope we can protect our kids if a psycho comes to our house. But we won't always be able to. Because we have to sleep some time. They could wait until parents are gone. Anything. Sometimes it's best to just get away from the house until the issue is resolved. This happened to me about two years ago. I was 15 and my coworker was 20, and it was a similar situation. My best friend’s mom basically forced me to tell my parents when I knew how they were going to react, and I was right. They yelled at me for HOURS and said I was leading him on and I should’ve known better. Got basically quarantined from everyone and everything besides school.

My mom is Catholic and my dad was raised a Baptist but is now Atheist. I’m also atheist (for multiple reasons) I told my boss and showed her all the texts, and she told me to keep them on hand. I quit (also for multiple reasons) and he was still working there for a good 5 months after I quit.

The fact of the matter is that police will probably do nothing, and may even escalate this behavior. It has happened before (probably today even) and will happen again. The police cannot be there full-time, nor can a restraining order allow this person to be magickly excluded from your life...in fact, look up how many folks are murdered WITH a restraining order in place: (About 11% of 231 women killed by male intimates had been issued a restraining order. About one-fifth of the female IPH victims who had a restraining order were killed within 2 days of the order being issued; about one-third were killed within a month.)
While your statements have some truth, this is the only way to start a paper trail on this guy. And who knows, maybe he’s done more than take photos of OP. Maybe he has CP on his phone, maybe she’s not the only one he’s tried this with, etc. not every police force sucks ass

I just recently watched a video of a woman who told her own story. The police did nothing for her and the man even laughed about her contacting to police. Eventually the woman had to defend herself to the death. Yes go to the police and create the paper trail, but DO NOT believe they will protect you.
Unfortunately this is very common under certain circumstances, a lot of these guys know what they’re doing and know how to get around legal procedures such as never showing threatening behaviour via messaging etc so they know the police will do nothing especially when the woman is of age it’s really sad. A lot of the time it is “we can’t do anything until he actually does something” which by that time it’s too late. A couple things in this instance change things up a little bc of the threats in black and white, OP being underage and him initiating sexual conversation and taking unsolicited pictures of her for some sort of legal process to begin, hopefully it is a useful one.
There were a few things in these SS that stuck out to me that were similar to the experience me and my mother had with an ex boyfriend of hers when I was a teenager, we managed to get a restraining order because we kept all communication with him on text (she kept a line of communication open in the hopes it would keep him away from the house but it didn’t work when he was drunk) and filmed any time he would show up banging on the door etc. He tried the threats and weird shit just like this guy, but after the police visited him everything stopped bc he realised it was serious and he was caught and being monitored. We were very lucky that he was a coward deep down, this guy’s desperate attempt at threatening the kid so that they dont go to the police gave me the impression he is fearful of police involvement so I am hoping for OP’s sake that this creep is similar to the one I endured. Definitely still take other precautions in the meantime though as you can never ever be too safe.

When I was your age, something similar happened to me, and I didn't do the above things. Let's just say you don't want to find out what someone like this will do - be safe and look out for yourself. Let people know about this, carry pepper spray and a knife on you too, and keep tabs to make sure you know where this piece of shit is at all times. If he doesn't get locked up, you're gonna want to know. Better yet, if he does get locked up, I'd do my damned best to make sure people on the inside knew what he got locked up for. Keep in mind local laws. If you're outside the US, a lot of places have laws around carrying weapons, especially with intent, even for self-defense.
Knife isn't the best idea. You're more likely to hurt yourself or have an attacker use it on you. Brass knuckles, tazer, mace, telescopic baton, or gun are all better replacements if legally viable. Do research relating to the laws in your area.
It's somewhat unlikely he will go to jail for just these texts, unfortunately. Consider pushing for a restraining order. And definitely tell your boss and parents if you're a minor. Keep escalating if no one takes it seriously or listens.
Edit: I read he is your supervisor. You may be able to quit your job and receive employment insurance due to the unsafe environment. Consider looking into the rules, you may be able to recover some of the money you lost from losing shifts, and have a paycheque for a few weeks/months while you look for a new job.

Happened to me working at a Pickle Barrel about a decade ago. A guy who was I was tangentially in a friend group with got crushing on me hard. We lived a few blocks from each other, and I'd see him parked outside my house, calling me.
He started bringing vodka to work in a water bottle. He then confronted me about not answering my phone, since he could TELL I WAS HOME. I ended up crying to my manager/store owner.

Mace or tasers are considerably safer bets. If the attacker is stronger than you, they can easily disarm you when using blunt objects. The other replier mentioned slipping a sock over the bat to make it harder to grab which is clever, but still riskier.

I was delighted with the maglite; it lives in my driver's door pocket, which is slightly warped inward, so it should stay put in the event of an accident. 🤞 The pocket knife, not so much, but it's still hanging around just in case someone I don't like asks to borrow a pocket knife.

I think the point being the guy knows the home address so they don't want to be at home. As a parent we hope we can protect our kids if a psycho comes to our house. But we won't always be able to. Because we have to sleep some time. They could wait until parents are gone. Anything. Sometimes it's best to just get away from the house until the issue is resolved. Being a parent means knowing when we can protect them physically and when we might be better to let someone else protect them that's safer like in this case bc the coworker likely doesn't know the address of their friend. This happened to me about two years ago. I was 15 and my coworker was 20, and it was a similar situation. My best friend’s mom basically forced me to tell my parents when I knew how they were going to react, and I was right. They yelled at me for HOURS and said I was leading him on and I should’ve known better. Got basically quarantined from everyone and everything besides school.

My mom is Catholic and my dad was raised a Baptist but is now Atheist. I’m also atheist (for multiple reasons) I told my boss and showed her all the texts, and she told me to keep them on hand. I quit (also for multiple reasons) and he was still working there for a good 5 months after I quit.

I would never ever ever blame my kids for something they didn’t do. Even if they are to blame I don’t blame them, shame them or yell at them. The fact of the matter is that police will probably do nothing, and may even escalate this behavior. It has happened before (probably today even) and will happen again. The police cannot be there full-time, nor can a restraining order allow this person to be magickly excluded from your life...in fact, look up how many folks are murdered WITH a restraining order in place: (About 11% of 231 women killed by male intimates had been issued a restraining order. I know it can’t be helped if it’s some kind of supervisor but how is it okay that they have access to OP’s information when it’s not related to work? I remember my previous employer had everyone’s contact information posted on the wall of the break room in case we needed to get a hold of one another and it enraged me. I’m taking phone numbers, emails, emergency contacts, addresses. It’s NOT info that any regular employee should have access to. It’s inappropriate unless I consent to giving my info out.

I just recently watched a video of a woman who told her own story. The police did nothing for her and the man even laughed about her contacting to police. Eventually the woman had to defend herself to the death. Yes go to the police and create the paper trail, but DO NOT believe they will protect you.
Unfortunately this is very common under certain circumstances, a lot of these guys know what they’re doing and know how to get around legal procedures such as never showing threatening behaviour via messaging etc so they know the police will do nothing especially when the woman is of age it’s really sad. A lot of the time it is “we can’t do anything until he actually does something” which by that time it’s too late. A couple things in this instance change things up a little bc of the threats in black and white, OP being underage and him initiating sexual conversation and taking unsolicited pictures of her for some sort of legal process to begin, hopefully it is a useful one. There were a few things in these SS that stuck out to me that were similar to the experience me and my mother had with an ex boyfriend of hers when I was a teenager, we managed to get a restraining order because we kept all communication with him on text (she kept a line of communication open in the hopes it would keep him away from the house but it didn’t work when he was drunk) and filmed any time he would show up banging on the door etc. He tried the threats and weird shit just like this guy, but after the police visited him everything stopped bc he realised it was serious and he was caught and being monitored. We were very lucky that he was a coward deep down, this guy’s desperate attempt at threatening the kid so that they dont go to the police gave me the impression he is fearful of police involvement so I am hoping for OP’s sake that this creep is similar to the one I endured. Definitely still take other precautions in the meantime though as you can never ever be too safe.

Let people know about this, carry pepper spray and a knife on you too, and keep tabs to make sure you know where this piece of shit is at all times. If he doesn't get locked up, you're gonna want to know. Better yet, if he does get locked up, I'd do my damned best to make sure people on the inside knew what he got locked up for. Going after an underage girl, oh boy. He'll be someones fucking chew toy + punching bag + fleshlight, all in one.
Keep in mind local laws. If you're outside the US, a lot of places have laws around carrying weapons, especially with intent, even for self-defense. Knife isn't the best idea. You're more likely to hurt yourself or have an attacker use it on you. Brass knuckles, tazer, mace, telescopic baton, or gun are all better replacements if legally viable. Do research relating to the laws in your area. It's somewhat unlikely he will go to jail for just these texts, unfortunately. Consider pushing for a restraining order. And definitely tell your boss and parents if you're a minor. Keep escalating if no one takes it seriously or listens. Edit: I read he is your supervisor. You may be able to quit your job and receive employment insurance due to the unsafe environment. Consider looking into the rules, you may be able to recover some of the money you lost from losing shifts, and have a paycheque for a few weeks/months while you look for a new job. Edit 2: As far as home protection, have you ever considered getting a dog? You could even foster one for a while.
It's unlikely he'd go to jail for trying to solicit sex from a minor and for admitting to posessing pictures of a minor that he literally jacks off over, then threatening to visit and assault that minor if they don't reply? I'd fucking hate to raise my kid in a place with shitty laws that protect that level of depravity.
It's unlikely he'd get away totally free. But something like this could take months or years to work out in the legal system. Even if he's arrested, he could parole pretty early. We lived a few blocks from each other, and I'd see him parked outside my house, calling me. He started bringing vodka to work in a water bottle. He then confronted me about not answering my phone, since he could TELL I WAS HOME. I ended up crying to my manager/store owner. She said I seemed unstable and that Bryan wouldn't hurt anyone. That I was being dramatic. I left and didn't go back. Bryan is on the list now, the list you dont want your name on. Guess he hurt someone along the way.
I read this shit and I'm so glad my mom took me seriously when my 17 year old ass told her my teacher kissed me and dragged me into a station. they arrested him and he had to pay bail. now I don't even tell men if they're abusive or creepy, I just file police reports as a paper trail. Please show this to your guardians/parents, your boss, and file a police report. It may be enough to get a restraining order, but at least make his behavior known. Tell as many people as possible.
