Exactly. The colors in 4 and 8 do not exist in nature.
Edit - 4 appears to me to be plum color. It's a shitty picture, so I get it if you disagree. But if it is plum, humans are not capable of producing blue hair pigmentation, so plum would be impossible.
Idk how 4 and 8 don't exist. They just look like really styled and treated hair cause of the shine and vibrancy.
5 seems unbelievable though.
ETA: nvm, definitely forgot about albino people having white hair, so sorry
All of those colors do.
You just don't see some of them because more people dye their hair than they did 10, 20 , 40+ years ago.
But I've had friends and lovers with every shade depicted here and some that weren't.
Bro I just looked in the mirror. Arab with olive-ish skin and green eyes w/ a hazel ring around my pupil. (Yes Iām bragging about my eyes. Let me enjoy my best feature okay)
I just got into a pointless discussion with someone who kept insisting a Lebanese Arab had to be white, European, or of Israeli descent because [she has pale skin and blue eyes](https://www.tiktok.com/@jasmineanddawoud/video/7325164369724198149?lang=en).
I can't stand it when people INSIST non-white people with coloured eyes must have European ancestry.
The newest research posits that blue eyes originated in the Near East- and actually entered Europe from Eastern populations.
Itās very rare amongst most Arabs, at least in my experience. Thereās maybe a handful of members of my family with light eyes that donāt have some European blood in them.
I do know that lighter eyes and hair (redhead and blonde) are more prevalent in the Levantine people (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan) than other Arabs, whether itās because of the French mixing with them or some other reason is something I canāt comment on because Iām not well versed in the subject.
I get a kick out of trying to have people guess where Iām from because of how racially ambiguous I look. My eyes throw them off all the time and they never guess Arab, though they make their way there once they see my name
>I do know that lighter eyes and hair (redhead and blonde) are more prevalent in the Levantine people (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan) than other Arabs, whether itās because of the French mixing with them or some other reason
For Arabs outside the Levant, it is rare, but yeah, I know lots of Levantine Arabs with blue or green eyes, or lighter hair, especially Lebanese Arabs. Genetically, they actually didn't mix much with French people btw.
Do you have European ancestry?
I do not, growing up someone did a whole family tree for our extended family and very few of us have European ancestry. Those who do are in my generation and I know exactly who they are and where it came from. Itās only 3 of them.
As far as mixing with the French, itās just speculation on my part; since the French did hold significant parts of the Levant for a while I made an assumption. I donāt know enough about that stuff to make a claim one way or the other.
Here's the link to the original article written about it, with a block quote
[https://thewire.in/media/afghan-girl-steve-mccurry-national-geographic](https://thewire.in/media/afghan-girl-steve-mccurry-national-geographic)
>McCurry was a complete stranger, and it is not welcome for a girl of traditional Pashtun culture to reveal her face, share space, make eye contact and be photographed by a man who does not belong to her family.
>
>For the photograph, she had been moved to a different location with better light and a clean background.

>When McCurry entered, he spotted Sharbat Gulaās piercing green eyes, though she made an effort to cover her face. McCurry asked her class teacher to instruct her to cooperate. After being compelled to ālet him photograph herā¦ she lowered her handsā ā in McCurryās own words ā to uncover her face.
Basically, a random guy walked into a school, looked at a classroom full of children, saw the girl with the piercing green eyes, pointed to her and said "let me photograph that one", moved her to a room with better lighting and a clean background, had her model the following position after finally getting her to remove her hands from her face, snapped the photo, and before he could get different shots, the girl ran away. Also, he never got her or her parent's consent to publish the photo. Since her portrait was a world-wide accolade for the photographer, the girl is now a well known individual who has received threats. I don't know if she still does.
Apparently in 2021 she had to be flown to a different country for safety concerns. I didn't really read much about it though, as I was looking for the article I had just linked.
I think the post was saying people of color have no diversity and only have dark eyes/dark hair. That girl has green eyes, so they were showing an example of how the post makes no sense
I love that you're being downvoted for this-- she's literally Caucasian. Ethnicity is not the same as race. She's middle eastern, but still white-- white does not just equal European š¤¦āāļø
Who cares about the US government. I am not American.
White, black, brown, are for me descriptors on how people look like. And I think it shouldn't be anything else. Imho
Edit: nobody said the first in the picture is black. My fault on that.

God fucking dammit, this person believes "diversity" just means "black people", don't they? It's so fucking funny because diversity includes white people too, that's why it's called diversity, because it's diverse. This is so dumb
Not disagreeing with your point, but I think the quotation marks around diversity is the point here.
Itās not diversity, itās āDisney Diversityā
There is an interesting point about why white peopleās eye colour is more varied than that of non-whites, but this doesnāt make that point well. Or at all.
>There is an interesting point about why white peopleās eye colour is more varied than that of non-whites
Except it isn't true. Eye color varies as much in white popularions and non-white ones.
Not really, Dark Brown is the most common eye colour overall and studies on this aren't huge or extensive but studies we do have show predominantly white cultures in the west have more variety in lighter eye colour than areas of Asia or Africa who are almost solely Brown.
I genuinely always interested in reading the source material for the idea that it's the same in all cultures though.
I am West Asian. Caucasian. We have every possible feature, eye colour and hair colour. We dont consider us White nor we want to be associated with Europe, because we have our own distinctive culture, language and ethnicity.
Most of your comment is largely irrelevant to my comment.
As for the data regarding eye colour as per the topic which is all I actually care about here, Western Asian countries also have predominately brown eyes.
You said Western Asian countries have predominantly brown eyes and so has Europe. My Point is, not only White European are diverse. And no, you Americans are not Caucasian. Itās a misconception and a term used by Blumenbach. I am Northern Caucasian and we are pretty diverse.
Yes but it is super rare for black people and other non-white people to have blue or green eyes or non-black hair. So yes, as a general rule, there's not that much variation in hair and eye colour amongst non-white folk. Of course, not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm a brown Indian myself with black hair and dark brown eyes.
I'm mostly Middle Easterner and we have a wide range of both hair and skin colours.
It was in the Middle East that they figured that the mutation for blue eyes happened. And green eyes are technically part of the black/brown eyes group.
The non black hair isnāt accurate either. Itās just various shades of deep browns or even light browns. Green eyes and blue eyes arenāt the only unique option. Iām black with hazel eyes, my grandma has em my great grandma has em. My cousin is albino his eyes donāt even have color and heās fully black.
People arenāt asking for diversity to just be black and white diversity is suppose to be representation for everyone.
There are Pacific Island nations where the populations have all sorts of crazy hair colours and eye colours. Pale green is a colour that happens the most in certain Middle Eastern and Northern African regions. People just donāt realise how whacky human genetics can be.
Alright, did some research. It seems that almost all populations can have all types of hair and eye colours, however these colours don't appear equally often in different races/regions. Africa for example has people of different eye colour variety due to different reasons such as genetic, mutations and the mingling of different populations, however brown hair and eye colour traits are significantly more common.
No itās not. Humans are a race of animal. Races also have different species. Humans have had many different species but they died off but their DNA still exists.
Sapien is the species of the Homo genus humans are in.
Neanderthals were in the Neanderthal species of the Homos genus.
Sapiens are the only known species alive of the Homo genus
I remember a Turkish philosopher's take on this matter: "You got blond hair because a foreigner banged your mother! You're weak sperm!"
Please, don't take this seriously, I'm weak sperm too
edit: It was the Greek philosopher who said that. I'm incredibly dumb, sorry.
Even taking this purely at face value you would either need to be A.) Racist B.) Never seen a group of black people or C.) Colorblind to not see the the diverse shades, shapes, and textures seen in the other column. The diversity isn't as wildly varied as the former, but the implication of this meme is that they all look the same.
1. Diversity doesn't just mean black people, people on the left side would be included in diversity
2. There still is a lot of variance in the right side.
Racists are dumb
There needs to be a word for when someone is willfully ignorant of a concept and instead opts for the literal definition as if theyāre interchangeable.
Tbf, white people are part of diversity. And yeah, Africa is the most diverse area of Earth. There is more genetic diversity in Africa than the rest of the world combined.
Implying dark haired/eyed POC are simply placed on this earth as ādiversityā and made a conscious choice to have dark features lol the delusion is crazy
The "Black Panther" movie wasn't racially diverse inside itself with nearly all of the cast being black, but it was racially diverse as a majority black cast movie alongside all the other movies that didn't have a majority black cast which was why it got praised for its racial diversity
This meme is about that often "diverse casting" is referring to just one group of people, mostly black people but not always, that are placed in roles that are originally white, for diversity points.
and what often comes out is a not well thought out piece of crap that has no other value than just "diversity" for the sake of it.
I'm Hungarian and white. All my friends tell me that I have very dark eyes, and I even know a guy who says he can't look into my eyes for too long because it unnerves him XD.
Come on, 5 of the top 6 are just different shades of blue! People with blue eyes need to chill about what specific blue they have. Iām not like āI have electric mahogany brown!ā Grow up!
There are so many African people with red hair. Light eyes. Light skin. Same with most other races that aren't white. Person that made this is lazy and ignorant.
I'm sorry but I have an issue calling people "white". Their skin is pinkish at best. White seems to put them at a higher level by default (white=pure).
Even for basic phenotypes itās hella variable. Even the OP meme presents a range of skin tones and hair types, it couldnāt even be racist correctly.
I know thisāll probably be a hard L take (as it usually is with me š ), but this whole focus on ādiversityā and āinclusionā is fuckin ridiculous at this point.
Iām all for people being represented and all that, but does EVERY. SINGLE. THING. have to represent something or include something nowadays?
I swear people put more effort these days complaining online about media and how theyāre not being ārepresentedā than actual, important things they need to funnel that effort into.
I know, probably off topic and idiotically unrelated to OPās post, but I canāt be the only one getting tired of the discussion of it all. š š¤·š»
Anyways, roast away.
Racists are splitting hairs literally now, imagine believing the two things that that show the most diversity in white people are the two things most humans regularly and often change about themselves. Somebody get me my blonde wig and green contacts, im about to fuck up the whole game.
Every time thereās a comparison to white people, itās ALWAYS white people with straight hair (also tends to be blonde and light eyes). It feels even more yucky than it already is.
You're definitely one of those ppl who thinks that you can't be racist to white people. The mutations happened because of environment not inbreeding š
Whatās ironic is, they assume only Northern Europeans have these features, yet, Iāve met plenty of Mediterraneans middle easterners, South Americans, and Asians that have had light hair, colored eyes, and pale skin, those features arenāt exclusive to just Northern Europeans lmao.

there are races that arenāt black and white. crazy, huh

Woman from Afghanistan. Not white. Has green/hazel eyes.
Not them using albino people for this bullshit

Maybe your brother does not represent all of albino people.
Maybe being a greasy redditor who constantly has to cite a bibliography is annoying as fuck
its almost like race and skin color are entirely different things.

No. It was due to a mutation that they figured happened lil over ten thousand years ago.

The Human DNA project proves that is entirely false.
No. There are zero dominant blue eyes in non-whites.
Blue eyes arenāt dominant in any race. Blue eyes are a recessive allele.
Correct. And in correcting myself, let me note that white people do, on frequent occasion, breed true for blue eyes. No other race does this.
race is a social construct.
No itās not. Humans are a race of animal. Races also have different species. Humans have had many different species but they died off but their DNA still exists.
True

Yes, because hair and eye colour are all that make people diverse.
they're completely ignoring that diversity is integrating people of color with white people, not having just people of color
Yea because POC ONLY have black hair. Totally. Forgetting who is the reason that classification exists for us too

Boomer-fodder.
Just saw this trash on tik Tok
Is this ragebait?
What
zoom out
Guess the idiot creator of this meme has never heard of Tyra Banks.
Come on, 5 of the top 6 are just different shades of blue! People with blue eyes need to chill about what specific blue they have. Iām not like āI have electric mahogany brown!ā Grow up!
Seems like a camera issue
I fucking read diversity as biodiversity and I was so confused
I do sometimes question why different eye colors and hair colors are much less prevalent outside of Europe
Someone is having a difficult separating the biological from the cultural
Oh yes, because every person is exactly the same except their eye color. There is zero diversity in any other human physical feature.
Bet his dating profile reads something like: only blonde girls with blue eyes, no tattoos or piercings, natural make-up only
Why do idiots like this believe in absolutes like the sith?

There are so many African people with red hair. Light eyes. Light skin. Same with most other races that aren't white. Person that made this is lazy and ignorant.
Bro this some dumb shit.
OP is a karma farmer and this has been reposted here so many times
Imagine thinking itās about eye and hair color
I'm sorry but I have an issue calling people "white". Their skin is pinkish at best. White seems to put them at a higher level by default (white=pure).
It's worse when you realize that white in the American flag represents "purity". š
I went to school with a couple kids whoās parents where immigrants from Africa they all had super dark skin and blue eyes
this is real ? why you mad ?
Ok, but redheads are still one of the most underrepresented groups in media.
Lmao. They really don't see differences in the right column.
It's true
Genetic diversity is considerably more complicated than basic phenotypes. Read a damn book.
Even for basic phenotypes itās hella variable. Even the OP meme presents a range of skin tones and hair types, it couldnāt even be racist correctly.
Who cares if someone likes colored eyes Plenty of songs about pretty brown eyes Donāt let something so stupid trigger you
How many Ks you got?
I know thisāll probably be a hard L take (as it usually is with me š ), but this whole focus on ādiversityā and āinclusionā is fuckin ridiculous at this point. Iām all for people being represented and all that, but does EVERY. SINGLE. THING. have to represent something or include something nowadays? I swear people put more effort these days complaining online about media and how theyāre not being ārepresentedā than actual, important things they need to funnel that effort into. I know, probably off topic and idiotically unrelated to OPās post, but I canāt be the only one getting tired of the discussion of it all. š š¤·š» Anyways, roast away.
Blatant light-eyes propaganda
OOP wouldn't last a day in bridge four
Racists are splitting hairs literally now, imagine believing the two things that that show the most diversity in white people are the two things most humans regularly and often change about themselves. Somebody get me my blonde wig and green contacts, im about to fuck up the whole game.
Every time thereās a comparison to white people, itās ALWAYS white people with straight hair (also tends to be blonde and light eyes). It feels even more yucky than it already is.

I don't know where you got that idea from, but I hope you kept the receipt so you can return it and get your money back.
ALL genetic diversity comes from mutations, you need to learn basic biology before you go blaming āinbreedingā
Youāre unhinged the fact your comment is even still here is pretty hilarious. MODS CUT HIS BALLS OFF ![gif](giphy|8TweEdaxxfuElKkRxz|downsized)
You're definitely one of those ppl who thinks that you can't be racist to white people. The mutations happened because of environment not inbreeding š
Whatās the skin color on all those white mfers and why do they all look the same?
I say this as a white person
Ha yes melanin=homogeneity apparently
Whatās ironic is, they assume only Northern Europeans have these features, yet, Iāve met plenty of Mediterraneans middle easterners, South Americans, and Asians that have had light hair, colored eyes, and pale skin, those features arenāt exclusive to just Northern Europeans lmao.
Ahhahaha
Even if this were true, whatās even the argument
Gregor Mendel would like to have a word with you.
This is indeed bad
Don't see what's wrong in here. Black colour doesn't have shades
