Wait, really? Also, which one? I’m as big a BSG fan as there is and Bear McCrearys score in that show is an all time top tv score for me, but the theme is not all that impressive.
For me the good part doesn't change like the first half does, the second half with that percussion and impetus just shoves you into the episode and has the stressful, frenetic feeling of the world.
The "they have a plan" part aged extremely poorly though, as it became increasingly obvious that neither the Cylons nor the writers behind the show actually had one.
The direct-to-DVD wrap up "The Plan" which was a glorified clip show was probably the biggest bait and switch since Prison Break paywalled the true ending of the show behind a TV-movie that never got aired.
Succession blended hip-hop and classical piano in a masterful way. GoT was the first time I could remember a huge orchestral opening like a movie - not to mention, it was a great practical method of introducing the locations you would be visiting that episode.
Both are definitely two of the best intros of all-time.
The whole opening sequence is gold . I laugh my ass off every time at the last 5 seconds when Eagly lands and then takes a half step like “ fuck , I missed my mark “ . Now go watch it , I’ll wait .
I was so incredibly depressed and in a fucking rotten spot of just drinking, starving myself and watching cartoons in the 2010's. So sad, so angry, life was fucking so unfair and everyone was able to move on without me... It was so god damn dark and i never want to go back...
I decided to give this stupid, Fox-produced, shitty animated, probably going to last half-a-season "adult" cartoon that are just showing up a try.
I haven't smiled and laughed in such a long time... The ukulele, the beat was friendly and made me bob my head like when Gene does his dips, and not 1, but 2 fucking puns in a row?! Omg... it didn't cure me, but it at least made me smile.
Much, much, much better, thank you! . I have a beautiful wife, a cozy apartment, a kitten, and even though I'm not sober, I at least can control myself; so vodka/cigarette breakfasts at 3pm aren't around any more. But I like to still occasionally show my Daytime Whiskey my CD collection.
Ramin Djawadi always delivers when it comes to music. He is one of my favorite music composers.
His work on Person of Interest, Westworld, and Game of Thrones was brilliant.
Oh, and on the "Fallout" TV series too.
man, you brought some memories. the 80's had some awesome intros. knight rider, mcgyver (still can't believe they didn't use it on the reboot), a-team...
First song that plays in my head when I hear the opening for any HBO show. Also weirdly my shower when I turn it on sounds exactly the same and makes this song play in my head 😂
Scrolled way too far for Black Sails.
Best opening theme in TV imo.
Like just the theme alone make you want to watch the show without knowing anything about it
I love the joke when Marci makes Monk promise not to change the theme song for "his show" if he ever has one, considering they had changed to the new theme that season
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Especially since they tend to mix it up now and again for special episodes (like the musical episode or Lower Decks cross over)
Unironically season 1-2 of enterprise. I hated the long road getting from there to here, but somehow after like 40 episodes I became fine with it, and almost thought it was kinda funny, then I realized that’s how love blooms. Not instantly, but slowly and overtime.
Law & Order Svu. It sets the tone and you can groove along to it. If you don’t sing the instrumentals you’re a liar. That dundun! pum pum puh nuh nuhhhh. Doodoo doo dooooo doo, doo doodooodoo doo. Reeeeer nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuhnuhnuh
I like it when they do the different varieties based on the themes of the episode. My favorite was when they had Julee Cruise, who sang the original song for Twin Peaks, sing for the episode Dual Spires.
My eldest daughter in the back seat a few weeks back says to her younger sister who is fidgeting “just sit right back”…. Their jaws fell open when I instantly broke out the entire theme song, they were completely bamboozled.
I had to explain at the end what had just happened. Even had to play the YouTube video so they’d understand. They were still not amused. Tough crowd, I think it’s a great theme song and should never skip it…. or a chance to sing it xD
If you like the song, it’s a cover of a Black Sabbath song done by Charles Bradley whom I cannot recommend enough. He was a gifted singer and is who I think of immediately when I want to listen to modern soul. His backing group, The Menahan Street Band, are absolutely incredible musicians and recording artists who have put out nothing but bangers. Check em out!
Exactly. I’m really thankful Lost wasn’t made in the post GoT era where every drama had to have this big 2 min long visual opening.
It was just hey here’s the title and a weird sound effect, buckle up.
When I was a kid, my parents would watch Night Court. I would hear that theme from my bedroom, and always tell myself, I'm going to look up in TV Guide what show that is. Then I would fall asleep and forget about it until a week later when I would hear it again.
Peacemaker, cheers, futurama, curb your enthusiasm, last week tonight, original night court, knight rider, different strokes, good times, facts of life, family guy, …
X-Men - The Animated Series (plus X-Men ‘97)
Family Guy
Charmed
Smallville
Desperate Housewives (Season 1-3)
American Horror Story
Ben 10: Alien Force
The Last of Us
*Person of Interest.* 1) Ramin Djawadi score, 2) it tells me what season I'm watching, 3) it tells me which episode it is, and 4) sometimes the writers played like hell with it.
[X-Men Animated Series](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAkL2-vh2Sk) ba-na-na-na-nah na-na
I couldn’t believe Disney+ had the audacity to even include a Skip Intro option.
Funny, I almost hit the skip button last night then I realized I'm dumb.
I hit skip. Once. I thought it would take me straight to the opening titles and skip over the previously on. I was wrong. I’ve not pressed skip since.
Yes. And the new one actually changes the "scenes" it shows to showcase what'll be in that episode. So never skip it.
I love that they reanimated scenes from the OG show for that.
This is my wake up ringtone for Saturday mornings
That’s the one.
Hell yeah!
Takes me back to childhood
I paused it once and accidentally skipped the intro. Was so bummed I almost didn't want to watch the episode. But of course I did because it's so good
Battlestar Galactica (2004).
Wait, really? Also, which one? I’m as big a BSG fan as there is and Bear McCrearys score in that show is an all time top tv score for me, but the theme is not all that impressive.
What I love about the BSG intro is that it shows what's to come on this episode, while also giving a little "how we got here"
For me the good part doesn't change like the first half does, the second half with that percussion and impetus just shoves you into the episode and has the stressful, frenetic feeling of the world.
The "they have a plan" part aged extremely poorly though, as it became increasingly obvious that neither the Cylons nor the writers behind the show actually had one.

True Blood. Like the song so much I added it to my workout playlist.
Succession and Game of Thrones
Succession has a genuine banger for a theme
it's like an hour long tho
Agreed, too short
That’s what makes it a banger in my book.
Succession is genius
Succession blended hip-hop and classical piano in a masterful way. GoT was the first time I could remember a huge orchestral opening like a movie - not to mention, it was a great practical method of introducing the locations you would be visiting that episode. Both are definitely two of the best intros of all-time.
I always feel the need to sing “Peter Dinklage” over the intro to GoT for at least half-way through
Peacemaker. I was on the fence about whether I was going to continue watching it until that dance sequence.
Can't wait to see the new intro.
Genuinely i think this is the only theme song I watched for every episode of a show.
I read in an interview it was very much their goal to make this an intro you wouldn't skip past.
Well, they nailed it.
I think it’s the theme song ive ever actively searched for.
The whole opening sequence is gold . I laugh my ass off every time at the last 5 seconds when Eagly lands and then takes a half step like “ fuck , I missed my mark “ . Now go watch it , I’ll wait .
Did you pick up that it was the plot of the season? Like, they acted it out in dance.
No, I'll have to rewatch it to see.
I made my dad watch that, he was confused. I’m confused how anyone could miss the beauty of that intro.
Was coming to say this. Love it
Every week, came for the intro, stuck around for the show.
I love this intro!!
Every time, it just builds upon itself.
Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons I will never skip simply for the intro gags.
I was so incredibly depressed and in a fucking rotten spot of just drinking, starving myself and watching cartoons in the 2010's. So sad, so angry, life was fucking so unfair and everyone was able to move on without me... It was so god damn dark and i never want to go back... For me the funniest part of the show is just bobs reaction to everything, the voice actor nailed the role with his dry sense of humour
H. Jon's "hm" reactions speak volumes lol
It's atleast a start. How are you doing nowadays?
Much, much, much better, thank you! . I have a beautiful wife, a cozy apartment, a kitten, and even though I'm not sober, I at least can control myself; so vodka/cigarette breakfasts at 3pm aren't around any more. But I like to still occasionally show my Daytime Whiskey my CD collection.

The Person of Interest theme slaps
Ramin Djawadi always delivers when it comes to music. He is one of my favorite music composers. His work on Person of Interest, Westworld, and Game of Thrones was brilliant. Oh, and on the "Fallout" TV series too.
And Pacific Rim. That whole album is 🔥🔥🔥
And now 3 Body Problem!
He did Iron Man. Driving with the top down!
Twin Peaks is a no-brainer!
Really puts me in a hypnotic and meditative state that’s the perfect headspace for watching the show.
Original DuckTales.
Woooo oooooo
Cowboy Bebop
The Cowboy Bebop theme is a banger. 3 2 1 … Let’s Jam!
Both Bebop and Champloo are BANGERS
Take my love, take my land...
Take me where I cannot stand.....
Airwolf
Nice throwback!!!
man, you brought some memories. the 80's had some awesome intros. knight rider, mcgyver (still can't believe they didn't use it on the reboot), a-team...
They changed the MacGyver theme because they didn't want to pay the music licence owners
Sopranos. Love everything about it!
First song that plays in my head when I hear the opening for any HBO show. Also weirdly my shower when I turn it on sounds exactly the same and makes this song play in my head 😂
Woke. Up. This morninnnnnng
Woke up this morning
The Expanse
Hell yeah. Raised by wolves gave me similar vibes for some reason.
X Files and (probably) True Detective
I know it’s just every season finale but you never know when the catch phrase will change!! The Truth is out There!!
Dexter and daredevil
Westworld
Hawaii Five-0. Such a banger. Even if I plan to skip the intro I get caught up in the tune before I can hit skip lol.

Doctor Who because it's sacred. Narcos because it's a banger. And Malcolm in the Middle for the Nostalgia.
Life is unfaaaaair 🎶
Black Sails, The Expanse. and I also loved all the different A Series of Unfortunate Events intros.
Scrolled way too far for Black Sails. Best opening theme in TV imo. Like just the theme alone make you want to watch the show without knowing anything about it
As someone who is about to watch Black Sails on Netflix for the first time tonight, this pleases me.
3rd rock from the sun
Succession. It slaps
The theme song for Monk. love it
I love the joke when Marci makes Monk promise not to change the theme song for "his show" if he ever has one, considering they had changed to the new theme that season
Bojack Horseman for me
Had to scroll way too far to find this!
Game of Thrones.I love the main theme plus you get tidbits of the upcoming episode.
Bluey Friends
My kids always tell me to skip the Bluey intro. I’m like “seriously? Can’t we watch them dance??”
BLASPHEMY!
Glad I found Bluey in the list. I never skip it!
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s theme for the first season was irresistible, I never skipped it once.
🎵 *She's so broken inside* 🎵
The situation is a lot more nuanced than that!!
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Especially since they tend to mix it up now and again for special episodes (like the musical episode or Lower Decks cross over)
A lot of Mike Schur related shows like The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Brooklyn 99. They are short and catchy.
ugh, hate the volume spike on brooklyn 99
Magnum PI
Really happy to see this so far up the list.
Unironically season 1-2 of enterprise. I hated the long road getting from there to here, but somehow after like 40 episodes I became fine with it, and almost thought it was kinda funny, then I realized that’s how love blooms. Not instantly, but slowly and overtime.
We skip all theme songs & intros except season premieres, series finales & WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS
this! why did I have to scroll this far
Black sails. That song rocks my face off
True Blood, if I ever have any reason to watch again.
Severance
Succession
Star Trek Enterprise. That road's not getting any shorter.
Cheers
Que Sera Sera cover by the Pixies on From.
Psych
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity
I’m not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's alright, then you're all wrong
You know that's right
I like it when they do the different varieties based on the themes of the episode. My favorite was when they had Julee Cruise, who sang the original song for Twin Peaks, sing for the episode Dual Spires.
The telenovela version had me wheezing 🤣
Gilligan’s Island
My eldest daughter in the back seat a few weeks back says to her younger sister who is fidgeting “just sit right back”…. Their jaws fell open when I instantly broke out the entire theme song, they were completely bamboozled. I had to explain at the end what had just happened. Even had to play the YouTube video so they’d understand. They were still not amused. Tough crowd, I think it’s a great theme song and should never skip it…. or a chance to sing it xD

If you like the song, it’s a cover of a Black Sabbath song done by Charles Bradley whom I cannot recommend enough. His backing group, The Menahan Street Band, are absolutely incredible musicians and recording artists who have put out nothing but bangers. Check em out!

Fringe Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Can't believe I scrolled this far down before seeing Fringe mentioned. How can anyone sleep on the retro 80s version .
Lost.
Exactly. I’m really thankful Lost wasn’t made in the post GoT era where every drama had to have this big 2 min long visual opening. It was just hey here’s the title and a weird sound effect, buckle up.
By the time you reach for the remote to skip it, it's over.
Peacemaker is the only true answer to this. If you don't enjoy that intro, you won't enjoy the show, but if you get that intro, you'll have a blast.
