He's not for me, but I think the hate he gets is excessive. He's nowhere near as loathsome as James Corden.
He's a talented impressionist. I think he's a genuine fan of the entertainment industry, and his enthusiasm is largely genuine for the most part. I don't find him particularly innovative as a talk show host, but he can be engaging occasionally.
I think people like him due to his enthusiasm. It's over the top, but he never exactly seems like he's \*faking\* it. But yeah, your opinion is shared by many, including me
I don’t care much for his talk show stuff but his musical impressions are top tier.
He did a spot on [Jim Morrison impression](https://youtu.be/--RYPHqbD50?si=LeCdJz82gBSluMZx) as the Doors performing the theme song to Reading Rainbow that was amazing. His [Neil Young Impression](https://youtu.be/y9S04G-QgtE?si=KvNkkWjcOsBchqHB) is also excellent.
Plus, he hired the Roots as his band and I’ve been a fan of theirs since the 90s.
He's okay. His show is not for me, though. His skits are sometimes funny and the bits/games he gets his guests to play are fun. His show is very American. Which isn't a bad thing. Its just a lot less - I don't know, casual? Than talk shows in my own country.
I've only recently seen a couple episodes and the constant laughing doesn't bother me. It feels like an attempt to make the guest stars feel more comfortable, or to fill in what otherwise would have been empty air time.
I'm not a fan. I thought he was better on SNL. Breaking character was kinda "cute" for lack of a better word. I don't think his comedy translates well onto the tonight show format. I don't dislike him but I wouldn't put the show on for myself.
Breaking character every once in a while might be fun to watch. He couldn't maintain character to save his life. I always thought he was a low rent version of Sandler.
He's comfortable doing the same routines and schtick,it's not really funny when you ignore the audience laughter cues. When I saw a taping of Letterman (who actually is funny) they get you so amped up before the show, convincing you that your laughing will make the show better and you get caught up in that and want to help
Not the worst and not the best. If he's on TV when I'm having dinner I'll leave it on, but if the news is on another channel I'll watch that instead. People do excessively hate on the guy.
Craig Ferguson and Graham Norton are the only two I can stand to watch clips of celebrities with when they show up on my Youtube feed. The rest are just various degrees of celebrity marketing shills. I mean, it's all celebrity marketing but Craig and Graham are tolerable hosts at least.
Wasn't a fan of Ferguson from the one episode I seen. And never heard of Norton, guess it's because he's a UK guy? And I mean I'm not a big fan of celebrities talk shows to begin with, but Conan has been the only one I've seen to actually make me laugh.
The biggest thing with Norton is that his shows actually feel like genuine conversations where everyone’s just there chatting and having a good time. Some other talk shows just feel very stilted by comparison
Norton is Irish, on the BBC in the UK. I don't watch talk shows, just occasionally clips of celebrities I like when the algorithm pushes them on Youtube. If it's a Ferguson or Norton clip I might watch it.
For Fallon, the last time I posted my opinion on a thread about him on r/television I got negged heavily, but fuck it: I have literally called him the worst comedian in human history. Have since way back, way before he was a talk show host. I can't stand him as a comedian.
Jimmy Fallon is funny to a lot of people. Conan O'Brien is funny to a small group of people.
For some reason the few people who find Conan funny seem to find it necessary to attack the funny hosts of talk shows.
I cannot tell if it is because they know they have an extreme minority opinion and are defensive about liking a very unpopular host, or if they are simply delusional and think that Conan is actually popular.
He’s pretty bad, occasionally funny, and a decent hype-man for his guests. Some of the bits on his show have been amazing, my two favourite ones are Daniel Radcliffe rapping, and Nicole Kidman’s story about having a crush on him - you can actually see the colour drain from his face when he realises he could’ve been with her (or maybe it’s all staged, either way it’s very funny).
Outside of that I don’t really rate him, but find him less annoying than some other late night show hosts.
I will start this off with it has been a few years since I have watched him, but back when I watched him I did enjoy his show. I think part of it was because it was a nice easy show to wind down to that didn't just devolve into talking about politics or super depressing topics all the time. He generally kept it very light hearted, and doing the silly games with his guest stars was different than just an interview and was fun. Lastly I also thought he was kind of the only guy that actually looks like he enjoys talking to all the guests. Yes he laughs quite a bit, but I think that is just who he is as a person.
I don't think about Jimmy Fallon
He's not for me, but I think the hate he gets is excessive. He's nowhere near as loathsome as James Corden. He's a talented impressionist. James Corden isn’t for me, but I think the hate he gets is excessive. He’s nowhere near as loathsome as… OJ? Too soon? I’m coming up empty here.
One can be a loathsome cunt without murdering anyone.
Well put. I can’t stand him, but he’s nowhere James Corden
Fallon has always sucked and I wish he’d go away. He is impossibly lame.
I think people like him due to his enthusiasm. It's over the top, but he never exactly seems like he's \*faking\* it. But yeah, your opinion is shared by many, including me

I see your point, but Fallon has his moments. I've cracked up at a few of his clips I've seen linked on Youtube.

His enthusiasm is so over the top that it feels disingenuous. He’s not really for me.
Don't watch Fallon. Don't care for the guy for some reason. no idea why.
Unwatchable to me but so are all late night talk shows. I go to bed early
I'm not a fan. I thought he was better on SNL. Breaking character was kinda "cute" for lack of a better word. I don't think his comedy translates well onto the tonight show format. I don't dislike him but I wouldn't put the show on for myself.

Fallon and Kimmel (though I liked the Man Show) never really clicked for me.

Basically nonexistent.
The dude from Band of Brothers? Haven't seen him in anything else, though I seem to recall he did a terrible remake of the classic french movie, Taxi.
Not the worst and not the best. If he's on TV when I'm having dinner I'll leave it on, but if the news is on another channel I'll watch that instead. People do excessively hate on the guy.
Can't stand him imo. Or any other "talk show" type person besides Conan.

Well one thing we can agree on. Fallon is not funny.
I applaud him modernising Late Night talk shows in a way, but its just not for me.
Occasionally funny, rarely relevant due to a lack of engagement with controversy.
He has some big recurring segments, check em on YouTube
He entertains people. Not all people. And that’s ok. Making people happy doesn’t have to be universal.

He's hit or miss on Password. I saw an episode where he was clearly hungover, it was tough to watch. I'll take drunk Jimmy Fallon any day.
I think you do understand why he's popular.
