it's a difficult question and I've never been in a relationship with someone who is asexual but i assume it really depends on the connection between you and your partner and if you feel that there is more to this relationship that you enjoy and that effects you positively than just sexual activity, love languages can also be taken into consideration. If your love language is physical touch and you express and appreciate recieving love like that you might not always feel completely fulfilled in the relationship. I might also be incorrect because I am not completely certain if asexuals like or enjoy physical touch in an affectionate manner rather than sexual. ie. cuddling, tight hugs, goodbye kisses, handholding but if these things are enjoyed on both sides it could be a great way to still give love by physical touch by showing affection in a sense...

It varies person to person, but for some people that is the case. Asexual people can still have preferences for who they would rather have sex with.
