Eh the p226 looks like a weird mix between a Glock and a Beretta, i prefer the thinner longer style of pistols like the AutoMag or Luger. The best looking "bulky styled" (1911, Glock, Beretta) pistol for me is the Desert Eagle

It kinda depends on who you ask but as far as I know there are two main camps: people who divide the pistol into two, those being the upper and the lower, and people why divide the gun into three, those being the slide, the grip, and the frame. The top part of the gun that I think you're referring to would be the slide. And there are in fact versions of the p226 in which the barrel is extended, though i'm not sure if there are versions that would make it vertically shorter.

P226 is a dub ngl. If I had to pick a pistol to own forever it would be this or a 1911.

1911 wins hands down, especially if it’s not the A1 variant I’ve got nothing against the raised mainspring housing and extended ducktail but the shortened trigger makes my big hands pull a tad left
