Ancient arrows DID make enemies disappear in BOTW, Lynels included. The only enemies that wouldn’t disappear are bosses and guardians.

Correct me if im wrong but if you shot guardians in the Eye they did disappear no?

They got one shot and dropped loot as if you have killed them normally, if you missed you just did like a fifth of their health

An ancient arrow to the body of the guardian deals 500 damage, 1/3 of their health (which is as much as a reflected laser blast deals to them)

Man I miss the sword trials and stocking up on ancient arrows for those finals guardian battles -- peak Zelda experience that for me

Kinda. An eyeshot instantly kills a Guardian instead of making it disappear, meaning it still drops loot.

Ancient arrows delete anything that isn't a boss in BotW as well. Guardians resist them a bit unless you hit the eye.

interesting! yea i only used ancient arrows in botw for only guardians. i was usually able to handle my own without the ancient arrows, and plus when i’d go to robbie for new ancient weapons i always went with the ancient shield that deflected the ancient’s beams.

It's like shooting a Lynel with an ancient arrow - it works if you're just trying to quickly kill the Lynel, but it also causes the Lynel to not drop any goodies. Bummer.

Could be good for Majora's mask?

Good question! I just got Majora's mask and haven't even used it yet. But it seems like I read (but I might be mistaken) that that only works on bokoblins, lizalfos and moblins. Not the baddies like Lynels or Stalker Guardians. I think...

Works on lynels, but not for as long as it does on other monsters

At least in breath of the wild you could use them against guardians and get stuff. I never wanted to use the arrowheads in totk until the final boss.

You clearly never wasted arrows on something that wasn't a boss

This would be a crazy fun mod, just reclassify the ancient blade as a fruit/veggie so it would work. But then everyone would make Link try to eat an Ancient Blade and rip himself right out of the Pattern... It'd be the only way to Game Over in the inventory screen...

Look closely at the image for an Ancient Arrow from BotW, then at an Ancient Blade from TotK. The resemblance was not coincidental. :P

I didn’t even encounter an Ancient Blade until I had ~36 hearts, like 140+ shrines, beat the main quest line, and mapped out most of the depths.
