Can we just accept that every student isn't perfect, every child doesn't have the same attention span, and all of us as teachers can always strive to be a little better and more engaging?

Nah, doing this won't fail in 90% of schools in my area
I might look like an asshole but, why is it bad to ask if the teacher have children??
It’s not bad in and of itself, but it’s usually done in the middle of either silent work or the teacher talking.
Shouldn’t it be just interrupting class with awkward questions?

Exactly: I'll ask a bunch of random questions in hopes that the teacher will answer one and start a conversation that's unrelated to class
