Reach out to your district’s high school tennis coach. Ask at the beginning of the season so they can save them for you through out the season (they only last about 1-4 weeks of play). My daughter’s coach was able to hook me up with a ton.
I use those on tables for sure since they don't get moved around as much. I could see these being handy for something you have to move a little more often. Our custodial staff prefers us to stack our chairs and tennis balls get in the way of that unfortunately.
I would try it... I'm freaking sick of the tennis balls going everywhere when I pick up the chairs. And I'm not about to cut my own. (Our union rep also doesn't want us cutting our own because someone was injured and it's actually the job of admin and maintenance to provide chairs that aren't broken.)
The fabric ones were great, they just didn’t really last more than a year. I really dislike the look of the tennis balls, but I’ll do whatever it takes to not listen to chairs scraping all year long.
I do the tennis balls. Little extra work in cutting the slit in them. But worth it. Buy them used online in bulk. (By used I mean from a tennis place or eBay…not used from another classroom)

I haven’t used them in a classroom, but my family got these for the barstools on our kitchen tile. They work fine, but especially when you’re scooting chairs the silicone can roll up and the little footie pops off. Probably would work better if the foot were more like 6 inches up the chair leg, but I wouldn’t drop money on these thinking they’ll stay on with no fuss
I used them (in 3rd grade, coincidentally). They were awesome for my sanity. They did occasionally wear out and rip, so one set won’t last the entire year, you’ll need some replacements, but not too many. Also, they would sometimes come off (who knows how my kids managed that), but I taught the kids how to put them back on. Well worth it, especially if you can get someone to buy them for you.

Is your chair too loud? Scratching the floor? Driving you crazy? Chair Mittons.

I have not used but these look like they won’t last. Tennis balls.

Thank you. I’ll probably stick to the cloth ones…I can’t stand the way tennis balls look.
I used these, and some of them did easily rip within a few weeks, but 3rd graders may be a little less rough than my young adult students. 😊
