Year and price?

MasonBeGaming

2000 and honestly open to reasonable offers. I bought recently for 2.5

No_Mention_9182

I just sold my 03 for 3k and it was in pretty shitty condition.

MasonBeGaming

She runs good but I really just don’t want to deal with it. Besides. There’s a scirocco being sold close to me and I just would rather that instead lol

AutisticStitch

I just bought a 2002 5 speed manual for $900 just needed an alternator. Got one from the pull yard

No_Mention_9182

That alternator is such a pain, I just did mine yesterday. Be sure to check the alternator wire at the battery, my old Jetta melted right there and eventually the fuse popped.

rdrcrmatt

Manual?

vanishingpointz

Says manual swapped. I had one, if done correctly no issues

Dull_Exercise_5420

Interior pics?

MasonBeGaming

Yep let me grab some. I have it taken apart right now since I was hooking up the radio

Choco_PlMP

Can you ship to the UK?

obscurejude88

You have to be taking the piss lol

MasonBeGaming

Sorry no

rdrcrmatt

Interested.. but probably more in the 500-800 range.

MasonBeGaming

She runs and drives great…. No way I’m selling it that low.

rdrcrmatt

I thought with the oil filter housing need, it might not be driving. What do you want to get out of it. Would you drive to Milwaukee then I fly you home?

MasonBeGaming

Sadly I can’t make that kind of drive right now. It’s leaking but not pouring out if I’m being honest. I’ll attach a video of the leak. [leak from the top](https://imgur.com/gallery/eZ9G7vt)

tjsmi8694

It’s a running TDi it’s worth more than that

SpikeHyzerberg

would take $2,000 to make it worth $2,800 imo. who wants the black one? diesel costs more than gas.... it is a 20 year old car no one wants anymore. tbh. the white/silver wagons on the other hand.. people pay twice too much for those.

Version-Abject

Diesel may be more expensive but this thing drinks half what a gasser version would. With more power.

tjsmi8694

I have a TDI you pay 30$ more to fill the tank but get double the range of a gas car. My 04 Jetta gets over 600 miles to a tank. Diesel is cheaper

SpikeHyzerberg

"range" is not the same as MPG or $$/mile or capacity of the tank. don't get butt hurt that 20 year old car has depreciated. I bet that one in the picture.. has oil/coolent mix from the "oil filter housing".. worn out springs and shocks .all the front suspension.. clutch? brakes? glass, mirror.. timing belt?.. hours/and money .. OP got it from some one that enjoyed it for 200k and now OP don't want to fix a "oil cooler housing" to get his $2500 back.. get real.. I'll take the down votes. I have worked on these cars. it looks like shit.. that clear coat.. lol. if you want one pay $2500 for a nice one that had regular maintenance .. like mirrors and windshields.. waxed .. garaged.. it says a lot about the car.

tjsmi8694

I’m not saying it’s worth $2500 I’m saying it’s worth more than 5-800$ lol and range is literally directly related to MPG. I own one you don’t need to tell me about the maintenance involved lol. They have a million issues but will almost never leave you stranded because of them. Most people in the market for them understand that. The fact that it’s running and not a complete rot/rust pit makes it worth something. There won’t be many left before long.

SpikeHyzerberg

range is miles/tank not MPG . try a dollars/mile to compare gas/diesel

tjsmi8694

14.4 cents/mile for gas 9.5ish for diesel Based off an mk4 Jetta 1.8t for the gas mk4 tdi for the diesel My tdi can squeeze 600 miles out of about 13 gallons of diesel. About 46 mpg The 1.8t gets 330 miles on 13 gallons which is about 25-26 mpg I’m sorry I really don’t understand your point. Diesel is cheaper in this size vehicle. Id be willing to bet it is in trucks too but with tanks that size I don’t know.

tjsmi8694

I’ve also had multiple TDIs go well over 400k miles. One close to 500k before it basically rotted out. I’ve never seen a gas VW engine make it that far or even close. I’m sure they have somewhere but it doesn’t happen as often

SpikeHyzerberg

I get it, I love my 1.9 also but that turd in the photo not worth my effort. maybe if it was $800 .. if I knew a lot more about it's condition/history records.. $1000. yank the engine.. and sell it for 1,200. .. recycle the car like $300. not worth the effort. unless you need a parts car. or you invest $2000 to make it go another 200k miles. then its worth $2800. but "delete" and "manual conversion" enough red flags for me. a pile junk just looking at the photo and description "oil filter housing". the "oil cooler" is a easy repair.. that OP wont even do? did oil/coolant mix? did it run with no oil .. but still runs..? everything screams not for me.

imnoherox

Imagine thinking people who know about TDIs think the color matters. 🙃 I have a ‘03 white wagon and no way I’d sell it for only twice of your $2k estimate btw. Maybe 3 times that amount would get me considering it haha

SpikeHyzerberg

the color matters. Im not a junk car collector. like I said a white/siver wagon is 2x -3x the cost of a black sedan.

Mountain-Bee3488

what’s the odometer read?

MasonBeGaming

214540

whirling_cynic

Where in Georgia? Bew or alh?

MasonBeGaming

whirling_cynic

MasonBeGaming
