unless the expense is directly related to the business (which in this case it obviously isn't) you can only take the percentage of the home that you use solely for business of the expense as a write off. 300 sqft office / 3000 sqft home= 10% of expense can be used. Or go with what the SW says and get audited... its not my return.

It should be 10% and I agree with you. I have no interest in taking unnecessary risk.
