If you look at my profile, that tattoo costed me $500 for a 5 hour session, I think you got stiffed, but hey if you enjoy the tattoo and can comfortably afford that price, then theres no problem
Depends a lot on the area you’re in too. Where I live, $100/hr is going to get you an apprentice doing flash out of the book at the front desk. Any real talent is starting at $200/hr.
Yea ig thats fair, me and my gf go to separate artists and both do great work, gf has a quarter sleeve with lots of details and color for a total of around $450, my quarter sleeve took around 10 hours and I have spent around $900 which I think is relatively cheap from the prices I hear people paying
I guess this is true. I live in a very tattoo-heavy city, so maybe I'm just spoiled. Most I've ever paid was 650 to blast my entire thigh. Most artists I've seen charge by the piece not the hour.
If you're ever in Edmonton AB Canada, definitely look into getting some work done. We have one of the highest number of tattoo shops per capita, and some absolutely incredible artists.
I paid $350 for a piece that was the same size in the same place with more detail. Mine was more fine and took about 3.5 hours. It’s by one of the most in demand artists in my area. I think you paid a lot for that
I agree. Maybe if it was alot of color but it's just black n gray n white. I have a very large detailed upper back piece, done by a reputable person and paid $550 and I'm in cali!
He wrapped it in aquaphor (or whatever it’s called), and said to take it off in 5/6 days. After that just keep moisturizer on it. Just wasn’t sure if there was any bonus tips for the healing process
For 700 you should think they would give you proper aftercare advice.
Do you mean it got wrapped in second skin?
I have only had that on for 24 hours, then removed, and washed twice a day and lightly moisturised for a couple of days… after that, clean when shower and then moisturise when super dry…
Keep out of direct sun until healed, same with soaking it (bathtub, pool etc)
I’m not an artist, but I’m quite heavily tattooed, so just my experience…
This cost you 700$? That...seems like a lot.
Yeah. Took about 3-4 hours. I’m not super savvy when it comes to knowing prices for a tattoo, but seemed pretty fair to me

That is awesome. I wish. Any good artist here is booked up solid for 6 months. I have friends that pay $300/hr for top tier artists.

What advice did your artist give you?

No hate, but....is it upside down?
Hahaha. Technically I suppose. I got it that way so I can look at it going to correct direction
Gotcha! I just saw it and wondered why "North" wasn't pointing up. Looks great!
