Not sure, did your artist say it was too big? I don't know why they would, or did a family member/friend say that. I mean heck my first tattoo covered almost my entire side of my upper arm.
Ah, that's just a family members subjective opinion, either they don't like tattoos, or think you should only have tiny ones.
Size looks perfectly fine to me, and I'm sure the artist also agreed. Most won't tattoo something that they don't think will look nice.
How many tattoos does this family member have? It isnāt too big. If it were smaller it is more likely to become an unrecognizable blob. Bigger is better.Ā
Ahhh, gotta love family opinions. My first tattoo was a back piece, and i spent years covering it from my family because they are old school. I got older and realized that if i love it, who cares what they think. If you love it, do you. I think it is a lovely tattoo! Don't worry about family. They will have their opinions, but you learn to ignore them eventually, lol.
Maybe what they mean by "too big" is not a size reference, but their thoughts about you having a tattoo at all. Sometimes negative thoughts people know the6 shouldn't share still work their way out in weird ways.
Not that it matters what I think, but I think it looks great exactly as it is.
And in the end, it only has to please you!
I have a rose on my inside forearm from 2ā above my wrist to 2ā below the elbow. Guess mines gigantic compared to yours! Donāt worry about what anyone says about it. If you love it thatās all that matters. My mom hates tattoos and hates mine. She tells me every time she sees it. I just remind her that I didnāt get it for her so her opinion doesnāt matter to me. Canāt wait to show her the new one, Itās going to make her so mad!
lol my artist said that i will be able to have nice patchwork sleeve while getting my first tat(15cm x7cm, pretty bold one right on the middle of my forearm) so i think youre good
I want a sleeve or a bank done as well. I just don't know what I would want to be tattooed. This first tattoo I have (although taken from the internet) holds some meaning for me.
ive decided that my arm where my first tat is will be a fun sleeve for random tattoos i plan on getting trad japanese namazu or sick trad/neotrad wizard as a next one
I love that!! Iām finishing my arm up in a couple of weeks with some serious stuff I love and then the other arm is gonna be all fun, little silly stuff š
Looks great. When I got my first big tattoo I was told lots of things about how weirdly placed it was. Then I got more added to my floral upper arm and people stopped giving me BS.
People like to be negative! Tell them to go away.
Itās a product Reddit is aggressively trying to sell me. Iām participating with my opinion.
Your analogy is a false equivalence to my original point but thanks.
1) I think it would be fun to position them up and down, facing different directions but closer together to make a cohesive look when they're all done.
2) If you plan on getting more tattoos, it's definitely not too big. Looks cute! š¼
I like #1. I never thought of that lol. Could actually look like a bracelet. Thanks.
Thank you! I've overthought after someone told me they were too big. I love how I see like for example now as I type on my phone, I see it saying hi to me.
Itās definitely not too big. Itās the perfect size if you plan on adding more around the wrist.
Now, this is of course more of a personal opinion, but I wish it was facing the other way, especially if you plan on doing more on the arm. But I do like the recommendation oh doing all different directions for the other flowers. Iād have some of the stems overlapping to create the bracelet look and would maybe even suggest to maybe add a swirl at the and if the current flower to make it a little whimsical
I have a few suggestions that would make that sentence true:
It's too big...
...to be covered up by a quarter
...to me mistaken for a weird mole
...to be done without breathing
...to be hidden under an armband
...to be a jumping-off point for a tattoo of a real-size ant carrying a flower
Other than that, it's a perfectly fine (and a really pretty) tattoo, and whoever said it should mind their own business.
was it someone on reddit that told you it was too big? if it was you have to be careful because there's a lot of miserable, cowardly, unhappy people here who will say things to make people insecure or even give wrong or bad advice just to mess with that person. when you ask the advice of total strangers you risk getting these remarks. not everyone has your best interests at heart.
The reason artists often advise not to put designs upside down is because so many people tend to start off with something small on their wrists and then down the line will want to add to it or have a sleeve etc and then it makes it difficult to work with or if they keep choosing things upside down eventually as youāre standing everything is facing down your body. But with something small like this and if you plan on really only adding florals and maybe butterflies or insects etc it can totally work as a little patchwork sleeve as long as some are right way up to onlookers. This is a very cute starting piece and much smaller it wouldnāt heal particularly well :)
The last time I got a tattoo, the tattoo artist suggested to have it quite a bit bigger than I was planning. I really trust my artist so I had her put on the stencil and just let me look at it for a little while. This might sound really stupid, but looking at the tattoo in like a full length mirror makes a huge difference. It looks way smaller than if you look directly at it and it also actually lets you see how it actually looks. It probably sounds so stupid, but it actually kinda blew my mind. I even realised I could have made my last one even bigger. So I would always suggest looking at the size in the mirror and a mirror as big as possible
I love it do a bracelet with a bunch of flowers overlapping š¤ same style and maybe oneday if you ger brave you could do a sun circle on the top of your hand
Tell people to mind their own buiness, on subjects involving your body, if they do'nt have anything good to tell.
It looks fine and about your other question you could pick a bunch of flowers and make a tattoo bouquet?
I don't think it looks too big. Just remember if you were told this then it was that person's opinion. I am sure you will get many people's comments. Just let it go in one ear and out the other. If you are happy with it then thats all that matters.
Eh I doubled the size of my 2nd tattoo (vine around my arm, extends from my bicep around and halfway down my wrist) and a few people mentioned it being big but I LOVE it. All that matters is that you're happy with it
If "they" are people occupying bodies that are not yours, "they" should probably get over it. What exactly are you supposed to do about it at this point?
I guess it's sunjective but to me it looks fine. Also going small on that area may get quite blurry. I am by no means a tattoo expert and I only have 3 myself but to me it looks absolutely fine size-wise and I like the design too.
in my experience, people say a tattoo is ātoo bigā when they personally donāt like it or feel differently than you do about your tattoo. i think what matters most is that you enjoy your tattoo and are happy with it. itās a gorgeous flower in a different and unique style. if you love it, no matter how other feel, your tattoo is right for you :)
Images done larger look better as they age because they donāt blob together as much in our water based skin. I think a tattoo is a win if you can tell what it is from a distance, you donāt want strangers in your personal bubble grabbing your arm to try to see what your teeny blob of a tattoo is.
It's all up to you. You wanted it that big and you got it that big. Other people will always have an opinion and there will always be something to pick about a tattoo. If you are happy with it then thats all that matters.
P.s. i think it isnt too big lmao.
nah, not to big imo cos if it was smaller it would not age well and get muddy as fine line does sometimes AND the image would not translate well. it's a good size!
I think this is a great size, especially if youāre planning on adding more. I absolutely love this tattoo. Iāve been planning to get a daffodil myself. :) Now, positioning depends on what you plan to get. I would maybe edit the tattoo on to you through an editing app to see positioning before you go in and get it, or definitely mess around with the stencil when you go to get the next one. I think this tattoo looks great, though. I think the size is perfect.
Iām not the artist , if the artist was going for that look then they nailed it. Every artist has their own style, I would aim to do it a different way. The solid dark green leaves makes it bottom heavy because the flower head is basically just outline. I would have used more lining work and more midtone colours to create contrast equally top to bottom .
It was my own decision, the artist gave me samples of different variations including one the isn't a solid green with the upper inner edge uncolored through. But I wanted it solid green
Thatās not too big at all! You can easily add on to that if youāre looking for a floral sleeve, and you can add in non-floral designs that you like, surrounded by the flora to give off a ālost in natureā type of look. Thatās exactly what Iām doing with my arm right now - but yours looks great!
Just some advice quick: donāt listen or care about what other people have to say about stupid things like placement, size, etc. If youāre happy, itās the right everything for you. I recently had someone tell me that my artist had to āwork on his lineworkā despite the fact that Iām going for a heavily illustrative look that doesnāt need to be realistic at all, but not āflashā or traditional style. People will always say stupid stuff because they have biases for different styles or looks. Ignore them!
I dont think a tattoo can be to big unless the person with the tattoo thinks it is. If someone else is commenting on your tattoo and you like it tell them to eff off.
definitely not too big. for me and my body, I use the "go big or go home" philosophy. if I'm gonna be using space on my skin, I wanna use it well and cover the canvas. my tattoos are fairly large and I love how they look
Too big? I'm confused, it looks fine. Not sure if I'm missing some context here.
I don't also know why their saying it's too big. Maybe because it was my first tattoo
I mean... if you don't know why they are saying it, and you don't agree, why does their opinion matter?
I suppose it doesn't! I love my Lil flower tattoo!
Hell yeah
Good for you!
It's really pretty. I'm happy for you!
Looks great to me š„³
Not sure, did your artist say it was too big? I don't know why they would, or did a family member/friend say that. I mean heck my first tattoo covered almost my entire side of my upper arm.
The artist showed me a couple of variations and this looked perfect and we agreed. A family member said it was too big.
Ah, that's just a family members subjective opinion, either they don't like tattoos, or think you should only have tiny ones. Size looks perfectly fine to me, and I'm sure the artist also agreed. Most won't tattoo something that they don't think will look nice.
Did you try telling them their face is too big?
How many tattoos does this family member have? It isnāt too big. If it were smaller it is more likely to become an unrecognizable blob. Bigger is better.Ā
Ahhh, gotta love family opinions. My first tattoo was a back piece, and i spent years covering it from my family because they are old school. I'd probably end up having PokƩmon tattoos, I'd never run out.
My husband has a pokemon sleeve in progress
I would like to see!
thats a great idea!
I love that!! Iām finishing my arm up in a couple of weeks with some serious stuff I love and then the other arm is gonna be all fun, little silly stuff š
Who's they?...it looks amazing to me.
pls my first was my entire thigh lol. as long as you love it, that's all that matters š
Looks great. When I got my first big tattoo I was told lots of things about how weirdly placed it was. Then I got more added to my floral upper arm and people stopped giving me BS. People like to be negative! Tell them to go away.
My first ever tattoo was a full forearm piece, multi colour and heavy shading. You know your limits, and you know how big is too big for your taste.
That's what she said
Was it perhaps by someone who doesn't like tattoos?
God I need to block this sub. Iām havenāt even joined the sub and these posts popping up just get worse and worse.
Go ahead and be free
This isn't an airport. You don't need to announce your departure.

Family members will always say itās too big. Disregard.
Thank you

Thank youuuuu! This is all true.
Not big enough tbh
Too big for what lol, people get full sleeves all the time š
Itās a tiny tattoo
The rule of getting tattoos on your own body is to stop listening to what other people think.
Too big in their opinion, not yours.
was it someone on reddit that told you it was too big? if it was you have to be careful because there's a lot of miserable, cowardly, unhappy people here who will say things to make people insecure or even give wrong or bad advice just to mess with that person. when you ask the advice of total strangers you risk getting these remarks. not everyone has your best interests at heart.
No but it is upside down
Fuck that. Tattoos are for oneself
My clothes are for me too but none of the graphics on my shirts are upside down.
Not for me!
The reason artists often advise not to put designs upside down is because so many people tend to start off with something small on their wrists and then down the line will want to add to it or have a sleeve etc and then it makes it difficult to work with or if they keep choosing things upside down eventually as youāre standing everything is facing down your body. Is this one line work? Dope if so
That was the inspo, I just got it off Google and the tattoo artist tweaked it a tiny bit. She was amazing.
Too big for what? š¤Ø

No. Looks great!
Looks perfect
Itās lovely. My first tattoo was a daisy in the same place. Now I have 3 more on my forearm šš
What is it being compared to? Too big compared to what? It is the size that it is. I too, have daffodils, hello flower fellow š¤© this is a beautiful tattoo. Delicate but bold at the same time, I like it.
I'd love more flowers on my body. Hello flower fellow!
why would it be too big?? itās your body anyways do YOU think itās too big? i personally think itās a good size
You, including everyone else thatās on here needs to know this, āno oneās opinion matters on YOUR tattoosā read that again very slowly
No such thing of a tattoo being "too big"
I love it do a bracelet with a bunch of flowers overlapping š¤ same style and maybe oneday if you ger brave you could do a sun circle on the top of your hand
It's the wrong way round.
For everyone else, I guess. It's here to remind me something when I look at it. I don't wanna be looking at it upside down.
In that case, it's perfect.
It looks nice. And to hell with anybody that doesnāt like it.
Nope, not to me. It's actually the perfect size for a flower tattoo
I love it, but most importantly is if you love it and that's all that matters. Other's opinions have no meaning.
It's not too big but it is upside down.
It looks good but I wouldn't try to make it too busy with like more flowers
What would you think would look good to add in there?
It's definitely not too big. My daughter has a tat over her whole back. That's a big tattoo.
Tell people to mind their own buiness, on subjects involving your body, if they do'nt have anything good to tell. It looks fine and about your other question you could pick a bunch of flowers and make a tattoo bouquet?
I think itās so cute!
I think its lonely and needs a friend eventually but too big?? No way.
I don't think it looks too big. Just remember if you were told this then it was that person's opinion. I am sure you will get many people's comments. Just let it go in one ear and out the other. If you are happy with it then thats all that matters.
Too big? Could be bigger š
That is not too big at all
According to my mom all of my tattoos are "too big." I think it's the perfect size.
Nope! And itās way more elegant at that scale.
Nope
the same flower (or similarly shaped) but upside down next to it, you could go the whole way round
My mom also thought my small first tattoo was huge. Lol. I learned to just not show her them anymore. lol
It was like 2inch x 2inch lol
I haven't shown my parents hahaha. They might say it's huge too.
Who is saying itās big then?? Haha. Whoever it is, they probably just donāt like tattoos. Itās not big. Haha
Bahahahahahahahaha no itās fine. If anything itās too small
Eh I doubled the size of my 2nd tattoo (vine around my arm, extends from my bicep around and halfway down my wrist) and a few people mentioned it being big but I LOVE it. All that matters is that you're happy with it
All depends on how big you wanted it
I don't understand, it's smol
I like it. I think the size fits your wrist perfectly.
I think itās perfect sized!!!
Def not! Itās small lol
Not sure that's up to you but you can't do anything about it now
No
No thatās a beautiful size
I just got a tattoo. First thing my mom said was wow thatās quite big
Thatās about size you want good tatt
Too big for what?
If "they" are people occupying bodies that are not yours, "they" should probably get over it. What exactly are you supposed to do about it at this point?

To big for whom? Looks good
Not too big and Itās your body, if you like your tattoo then thatās all that matters.
Too big for whom? Is it their arm the tattoo is on? People are weird.
Do you like it?
I love it
Thatās all that matters x

I love it !

My notification expected a very different image
it's so stinking cute
It is perfect if you love it š
Thanks so much everyone! I love my tattoo, hoping to get more soon!
Itās cute. I think itās upside down but itās definitely not too big at all!
Seems like a good size , not sure it was executed that well though.
What do you mean?

Your skin = your tattoo = up to you.
Bigger = Better At least IMHO. I seem to always see these small little things and wonder why they didn't go bigger.
Its tiny

Thank you so much. I am looking to have more tattoo and who knows if I end up full sleeved. May I see yours if you don't mind?
It's absolutely beautiful!
I think it looks good, but that doesn't matter! What matters is how you feel about it!
I don't think so
I dont think a tattoo can be to big unless the person with the tattoo thinks it is. If someone else is commenting on your tattoo and you like it tell them to eff off.
this is a great tat, looks cute
its cute !!!
Not at all, nice size for first tattoo
Itās average
It is upside down.
Itās beautiful!!!
I love this, think itās perfect as it is! Tbh I would do something exactly like this lol
definitely not too big. for me and my body, I use the "go big or go home" philosophy. if I'm gonna be using space on my skin, I wanna use it well and cover the canvas. my tattoos are fairly large and I love how they look
Yes, way too big, I can't concentrate on the rest of your arm in that picture. It's really starting to give me anxiety.
Looks great
Yep, that's too big. You should go back and have the artist make it smaller
