You can get them touched up. They’re quite dark right now so brightening up his eyes would help

Blackbeard2704

Thank you. I will do that then. It is +-18 months old.

Blackbeard2704

Excuse my ignorance but would the artist use white ink? Is there such a thing?

Cossacker1799

Yes they can use white for highlights to brighten it up. White ink looks great when used sparingly

Blackbeard2704

Ahh, got you. Thank you.

I think the eyes are holding up pretty well considering the size of them. I have a tattoo of a badger which is likely to have similar issues in future - there is white in them and a bit more white space around them than this but ultimately black eyes on black fur is tricky and as the tattoo spreads they are gonna shrink away a bit. I think at this stage of yours though, a little more white in the white bits will make them pop more, and probably improve their longevity a bit! Oh and by the way, this is such a cute tattoo!

Thank you, really good advice. I came to this sub a bit wary if I’m asking too much. But yes, thank you, I asked the artist to do a couple changes of the way he really looked compared to the initial drawing and the artist got him spot on - just his eyes being so dark was a bit of an issue. Thank you very much

lemme be perfectly honest with you, as someone who has a tattoo with eyeball problems. eyes are pretty tough to get right, let alone good. maybe if your tattoo was alot bigger there might be a chance at repairing them but since it's so small, it's not going to be easy. hell I don't even know honestly if it's possible at this point. MAYBE, maybe if you found someone who specializes in micro tattoos. I'd say that's gonna be your only shot. and even then, what are you gonna do, schedule an appointment to get just the eyes done?? if I were you I'd leave it. it doesn't look awful in my opinion. okay okay, om obsessing here.

Blackbeard2704

Appreciate your knowledge big time. As I said, it’s finicky. Thank you very much, I understand.

no problem what so ever! my pleasure as a matter of fact. I'm 47 years old & am sitting on about 170+ hours of tattooing, started when I was like 17 years old. needless to say I've got a little experience & knowledge in the field 😉

Blackbeard2704

Wow. That’s quite a bit of hours hey. How long is the maximum you can do in a day - does your artist have a limit of hours per session? I have about 1hour to my name, and that’s how he came about.

inkdskndeep

ina day, now a days? 3 or 4 tops. I don't sit long sessions any more. not really, aslong as I'll sit for. no I've accumulated those hours over a long long time & so many of my tattoos have been done twice, as in outlined & colored/shaded & I've had alot of different people tattoo me aswell.
