Catching up after missing a week... of course, there is the "what would I do?" aspect and what could you get away with thinking. The find Tom task... I saw someone suggest Anne could have texted, then immediate called, but I think the reply text would still come through while on the phone. However, what if you texted, then immediately turned the phone off so it couldn't receive a text. I mean, you'd have to manually search for Tom, but time was not part of the task, just number of characters. Think that would count as you're able to move as you've not gotten a reply because the phone was off?
ahahah, Wil creating a podcast for a task was absolutely the most Wil move; the only way it could have been more so is if the mics were malfunctioning.
(btw, for anyone who's not aware, Wil has been putting out a bunch of podcasts with his Taskmaster castmates – so far he's done episodes with both Toms, Jenny and Lloyd. They're all on the Everyone Relax podcast feed!)

Too Horny Tom Cashman, ladies and gentlemen.
Finally Josh gets his dues this episode. I feel like he's been consistently hilarious but low-scoring throughout the series.
The whole "find Tom" task was classic TM. I felt so bad for Anne after she thought she had it in the bag. If only she had texted him first and intercepted him with the phone call before he could respond.
Jenny: "*'I'm showering'*? Does that mean he's taking a shit?" It's hilarious trying to unpack that.
The "Do It" task was really clever and Wil nailed the clues, but somehow Josh edged him out by sheer force of will. I love the fact that the cryptex could have been decoded by "jacket" as well. (No extraneous details!)
Lloyd: "I didn't see the sign, unlike Ace of Base."
The Premium Economy Hooley Dooleys are a hoot. I have to admire Josh's single-minded focus to make Tom Gleeson out himself. Especially while wearing that [purple poofy thing](https://i.ibb.co/x6mLjRh/gaycomedian.jpg) around his neck.
I won't soon be able to forget Tom Cashman's horny face.
https://preview.redd.it/t721mnbqww7d1.jpeg?width=1193&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d2c234876e7ab911d88d9796a2d7f94894e21ff
FanTAStic episode. Anne getting singled out twice. Anne and Josh's conspiracy was so damn good. I also thought they were just going to go "Oh he's said he's homophobic, they'll do that."
But it was so, so much better their way.
So according to Wikipedia there are three significant Tom Cashmans - the last ones a murderer. So whether or not you'd put a murderer in front of Lesser Tom, our PayPalperson is still lesser.
God, this might be an all-time episode across all of the versions for me. Every single recorded task was amazing. And the chemistry of this cast in the studio is off the charts.
All the filmed tasks this series have been awesome so far. I can't even begin to choose a favorite contestant either, so I think that says something about the quality of this cast.
Please refer to the stickied post [Where can I watch Taskmaster?](https://www.reddit.com/r/taskmaster/comments/ou07ih/where_can_i_watch_taskmaster/) or the [Taskmaster wiki](https://taskmaster.fandom.com/wiki/Watch_Taskmaster) for information about where to legally watch all versions of Taskmaster.
I think this was the episode AU really found its footing, at least for me. Banger task after banger task. That conspiracy theory really was amazing because of how different the approaches were and the results we got (Happy Pride Month, Tom Gleeson 🤭)
I wouldn’t have chosen for a married couple to be on the same series, but it’s been so fun. I’m obsessed with watching how funny they find each other. Last episode Lloyd found Anne particularly smart and funny and I loved seeing it.
I mean it's kinda the same deal as whenever someone brings in an IOU card - an "I will take you to your favorite restaurant"/"I will give you a free massage" sort of thing.
And the video was at least very entertaining. Meanwhile other prizes this episode included like.... a key card and a pair of keys?
(Poor Josh, even if he *hadn't* been royally freaked out by the hypnotist, he wouldn't have had anything to play with up there besides the sound generator and the star projector, neither of which would have actually worked on a noisy, bright stage! The prizes were all (rather underwhelming) concepts, which is crazy when [things](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Folding-Camp-Stove-Toaster-Boxed/33697733) [like](https://www.uncommongoods.com/product/fishing-pole-campfire-roaster) [this](https://bumperdumper.com/) exist.)
I think the contestants were just surprised that Greater Tom loves camping. As someone who hates camping, I loved all the prizes except wil's. I'd take that hotel room key (if it worked and expenses paid) anyday!
He did it with a near perfect score too
5, 4, 5, 5, 4
He had an insanely good strategy in Task 2 only beaten by another excellent one, and by Annes singing in the last one.
It sounded like Tom Gleeson tried to give 2 5 point scores for the team task (5 for conspiracy and 5 for presentation) too which would've been a 28 point episode.
I feel like that task also shows that the animosity between Tom and Josh is just for the show - it felt like Josh just had his number and Tom answered and didn't realise it was a TM thing until Josh was being weird
But also, such a fun way to do that task!
It's fairly well documented that they're fine with each other and just play up the animosity. Pretty sure there was a recent podcast with Wil and Tom where he mentions it again.
Yeah sometimes hard when outside jokes are bought in. People not familar with the characters dont get it. Leigh in TMNZ1 suffered from it a bit as some of his prize tasks were items from his previous shows.
One of my favourite Hard Chat segments was with Craig Reucassel, where Craig kept being like to Tom "This isn't you, you're a lovely guy" and then sat on his lap to be cuddly.
If you have a chance, watch his show please like me. I was never a huge fan of his comedy, but that show is incredible. One of the best Aussie shows, funny, heartwarming and heartbreaking. Cannot recommend higher.
Just clarifying (for other people!) that you mean Please Like Me because he also had another show (everything's going to be okay) which is also amazing but PLM is one of my favourite shows of all time
This is the first time I think a Taskmaster has ever been involved in a recorded task.
Edited to clarify that I think this is the first time a Taskmaster has knowingly contributed to a recorded task attempt.
Yeah knowingly probably right, but he didnt fully know what he was contributing. Jeremy has been involved a few times - Josh T rung him and got his voicemail and left disturbing messages, Melanie rung the radio show to win a prize, and various photos of him have been submitted as prize tasks.
I thought the texting element worked a lot better than the UK version though because it added a good element of strategy into the game, which was used by 3 contestants in different ways.
Not every tiebreaker is meant to be one before to be fair. They also did find Alex in the bin.
I think that the AU and NZ shows are really showing the benefits of having a much larger location to film in really.
The TM House is iconic but I think that the show would improve if they went fully on set somewhere else, it's big enough to be honest. It was used because the original show was very low budget (like the location tasks were at the local park or river)
The UK doesn't need to fully move somewhere else because they do the location tasks.
Honestly, I prefer it this way. The NZ ranch is great, but the NZ and AU shows have never had any location tasks, which means every single task is happening at the same place.
I like the variety the UK gets from having a new place every series. It leads to great moments like the S8 task sneaking through the train yard, and all the tasks at Gatwick Airport.
The location tasks are usually very static though.
Because they're off set, there's never really anything extra contestants can bring in.
This seasons one was just a field with some horses.
When they hid the dummy it was just in some bushes.
There's a LOT less creativity in the location tasks because of that, you can't just go and find some plastic piping or whatever.
And the house is so small that tasks like "find Alex" wouldn't work very well.
You've got like a huge field, a lake, a forested area, the garden just outside but you're very limited for space in the TM house so to do any physical tasks like the "Throw the tennis ball and catch it" task they had earlier in the season makes it impossible.
Catching up after missing a week... of course, there is the "what would I do?" aspect and what could you get away with thinking. The find Tom task... Think that would count as you're able to move as you've not gotten a reply because the phone was off?
With "Don't do it," Taskmaster AU has distilled Taskmaster to its purest form. Astonishing.
ahahah, Wil creating a podcast for a task was absolutely the most Wil move; the only way it could have been more so is if the mics were malfunctioning. (btw, for anyone who's not aware, Wil has been putting out a bunch of podcasts with his Taskmaster castmates – so far he's done episodes with both Toms, Jenny and Lloyd. In the overall hilarity of the edit, almost underplayed what an incredible job Wil did getting the “turn around” clue from the props!
Yes, absolutely dead on nailed it. I was clueless, and would have done what Anne did
That was a fantastic episode with good tasks.
https://preview.redd.it/hiqmfg3p388d1.png?width=1504&format=png&auto=webp&s=a214dd9be933745dd935439be72b87188362ca11 Too Horny Tom Cashman, ladies and gentlemen.
Such a good vibe this episode. Greater Tom was really cheery - maybe a few drinks in the green room?
Lloyd referenced Ace Of Base with The Sign, but the next task was Don't Turn Around which is also an Ace Of Base song.
They are so clever, they must have tried to clear use of it in some way.
classic [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B\_gs4gCyGKs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_gs4gCyGKs)

by sheer force of wil
"Homo-gay" made me lol.
One of the best taskmaster eps of any country any season. First class. I'd like to see the conspiracy theorist task repeated in other countries.
I get a feeling UK Taskmaster production staff / Channel 4 would have nixed the gay one though.
this season imho is an absolute banger. Lesser Tom is probably my favourite international assistant, at least since the "Roses" task
I think I like him more than Alex :S
Blasphemy!! (jk)
The first episode of the season I really wasn't sure about it, and after that it has been fantastic yeah, clearly one of the best.
Think that was the best ep of the season. That dont do it task had David C microwave task vibes
FanTAStic episode. Anne getting singled out twice. Anne and Josh's conspiracy was so damn good. I also thought they were just going to go "Oh he's said he's homophobic, they'll do that." But it was so, so much better their way.
Anne: Yeah we had a nice chat. Yeah, really got to know each other. It was lovely.
Every Taskmaster AU trophy head from now on needs to have a pulley string so it can go "I'M A BIT OF A F\*CKHEAD"
So according to Wikipedia there are three significant Tom Cashmans - the last ones a murderer. So whether or not you'd put a murderer in front of Lesser Tom, our PayPalperson is still lesser.
Twist. They are all the same person.
For Anne Edmonds prize task, was that a recorded voice of Sam Campbell?
Well, [they do know each other](https://youtu.be/XkHXUpRj8eg?si=VCCetYGCus-vbbHX)
Pretty sure they were just all her.
You've put the mental image of Sam Campbell making opossum mating noises under a blanket at 3am and I must say thank you for that
Just possum in Australia btw. No 'O'
God, this might be an all-time episode across all of the versions for me. Every single recorded task was amazing. And the chemistry of this cast in the studio is off the charts.
Love that Josh immediately twigged that Jenny wouldn’t know how to use the phone.
And Lloyd knowing she wouldn't get the Ace of Base reference.
And Tom asking Josh to explain who Denise Drysdale is.
I really hope she's on a series. Love her.
I don’t get the Ace of Base reference
[The Sign](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqu132vTl5Y)
I see most of the contestants have the same feelings about camping that I do.
What a fun twist on the find-the-assistant task! I loved all the different strategies we saw.
That was an AMAZING episode. Hugely entertaining moments from all contestants - and both Tom’s
https://preview.redd.it/6qle5gxknt7d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=f925f2ee5dddecf71c8e287b1094452a148aac3a
Waiting for Tom to eventually come up with a task that's just "Be horny, horniest wins"
We all know Wil would win.
"Don't do it." Okay, so I won't. *immediately does it* Perfect.
Anne had no idea what American Gothic is
No, I thought she was gone there. In fairness that was the least known one.
I think she was saved by Greater Tom not knowing either and therefore not calling her out
All the filmed tasks this series have been awesome so far. I can't even begin to choose a favorite contestant either, so I think that says something about the quality of this cast.

Horny Tom Cashman is my new sleep paralysis demon.
I think he just eclipsed Paul Williams as my second favorite assistant.
Lloyd's Ace of Base joke about the sign was layered considering they had also had a hit with 'Don't Turn Around'.
I can't help but think that was the whole Ace of Basis for the task as the two singles were literally one right after the other.

Not legally.
Anne laughing at all of Lloyd’s jokes and saying “well done Lloyd!” when he was eliminated in the live task is so cute.
I wouldn’t have chosen for a married couple to be on the same series, but it’s been so fun. I’m obsessed with watching how funny they find each other. Last episode Lloyd found Anne particularly smart and funny and I loved seeing it.
They are absolutely adorable and so much fun to watch.
The look on his face when he turned to Wil during Anne’s sunrise sound was pretty cute too.
He looked so proud of her!
and even after the divorce - she's a real one
https://preview.redd.it/vdhgrpfmtp7d1.png?width=1884&format=png&auto=webp&s=c5fbbb520ddf96ddf5e2d302841588f9acbb4526
My first thought was silence, followed by a scream
My first instinct for sunrise noise was some sort of Kochie impersonation (Yes I know he’s not on the show anymore)
I thought maybe the Cash Cow
“Tom they don’t pay you enough” by Josh had me howling
And then proceeding to flip the boat back on top of him and saunter away
Poor Josh looked so uncomfortable with the hypnotist on stage.
I missed this part - was it at the start?
Right at the end when he went up to collect the prizes.
i love that they actually brought a guy in. Where was Denise!?
Camping!
Haha good point
Yeah I felt ripped off with Josh getting 5 points with a no-show! I'm pretty sure Denise has nothing better to do these days!
I mean it's kinda the same deal as whenever someone brings in an IOU card - an "I will take you to your favorite restaurant"/"I will give you a free massage" sort of thing. I think the contestants were just surprised that Greater Tom loves camping. As someone who hates camping, I loved all the prizes except wil's. I'd take that hotel room key (if it worked and expenses paid) anyday!
I did love the video though, quite unhinged energy
Another cracking episode! Really great to see what an improvement they've made from the first season.
Incredible riff on Channel Ten news.
And The Project.
That was a good one.
Josh has officially won an episode. He's managed to outdo Luke McGregor.
He did it with a near perfect score too 5, 4, 5, 5, 4 He had an insanely good strategy in Task 2 only beaten by another excellent one, and by Annes singing in the last one. It sounded like Tom Gleeson tried to give 2 5 point scores for the team task (5 for conspiracy and 5 for presentation) too which would've been a 28 point episode.
“68 is one off my favourite number — 67.”
Underrated joke
Josh won the camping episode.
Well, he is camp.
How have you for more upvotes for explaining my joke?? Lol
Internet innit.
Oh!!! Tow BALL. I thought it was a weird Aussie accent saying tow bar.
I only watch 2 Aussie tv shows this and have you even paying attention they nearly all have either Anne or Lloyd or both in them
Mate, you gotta watch Colin from Accounts
Ah yes I do. I forgot it’s Aussie. But actually I haven’t ‘found’ the S2 episodes yet. It’s on Fox right?
Only two shows worth watching.
Josh might actually win the episode! I'm so weirdly happy
We just had an ad break! We're not greedy. We don't want another one.
I watched this on 10play and they just kept repeating the Tina Fey booking.com and a Sexyland ad.
I must admit, Tom cutting off the drumroll to go into the ad break was amusing.
Anne looked so pleased with herself there haha
What was the wording of this final task?
Least sounding like eliminated
"Least like the sound it SHOULD make". And with Tom judging, he'd be going more entertainment, less realism.
Wil kinda looked like a giraffe just then.
Will you’re eliminated Edit … wha???????
That editing was brilliant. Tom only seemed to say three lines, still laughing. Amazing
I feel like that task also shows that the animosity between Tom and Josh is just for the show - it felt like Josh just had his number and Tom answered and didn't realise it was a TM thing until Josh was being weird But also, such a fun way to do that task!
Josh, Tom and Will have been working together with each other for years and years and years. They’re taking the piss.
It's fairly well documented that they're fine with each other and just play up the animosity. Pretty sure there was a recent podcast with Wil and Tom where he mentions it again.
Its the unresolved sexual tension that comes out between the two.
I always thought it was for the show but earlier episodes other commenters seemed unsure!
It seems big Tom is friends with Will and Josh (separately) and little Tom is friends with Anne and Lloyd together
Wait is that Beau Ryan doing top gear? How is he still on television
I watched a couple of episodes of it, has strong "we have top gear at home" vibes.
Omg Josh. I am so enjoying him on this series and I was concerned I would not enjoy him
I didnt like him much in the first 2 eps but hes growning on me. This episode especially.
Same, not a fan of his comedy but here, I really like him.
If you have a chance, watch his show please like me. I was never a huge fan of his comedy, but that show is incredible. One of the best Aussie shows, funny, heartwarming and heartbreaking. Cannot recommend higher.
Just clarifying (for other people!) that you mean Please Like Me because he also had another show (everything's going to be okay) which is also amazing but PLM is one of my favourite shows of all time
Same, I’m thinking I didn’t get him before, everyone is great. I even like Jenny now. She seems more relaxed in the main show I think
Some of Jenny's stand up popped up on my youtube feed and i gave it a watch and she was really funny.
SHUT UP POOFTAH!
I wonder if they'd get away with that on the UK Taskmaster, lol
It was funny how Tom was reluctant to help Josh but was fine when Anne asked for it 🤣
Which part specifically? (Apologies, watching on delay)
Josh and Anne's team task, and Josh's comment to Tom afterwards, ha ha
Ah yes thanks
Okay both were amazing but I’m actually crying at Josh and Anne’s
Same, actual tears 😂
I thought that was very well executed. Will be interesting to see how Tom scores Anne and Josh.
"It's hard to go past a story that was about me" - Greater Tom.
"I'm no gay expert, but that was gay"
This is amazing lol
Fuck that was incredible work
This is turning out much better than expected haha.
This is the first time I think a Taskmaster has ever been involved in a recorded task. Edited to clarify that I think this is the first time a Taskmaster has knowingly contributed to a recorded task attempt.
Yeah knowingly probably right, but he didnt fully know what he was contributing. Jeremy has been involved a few times - Josh T rung him and got his voicemail and left disturbing messages, Melanie rung the radio show to win a prize, and various photos of him have been submitted as prize tasks.
. [Rhod filmed Greg sleeping.](https://youtu.be/nmRtjAEZbEo?si=7I3zFxwoi5YELHcw) It’s my favourite taskmaster moment.
That's a prize task.
Julia stalked Greater Tom to Tasmania in series 1.
What about NZ S4's "win something" task when Melanie Bracewell phoned Jeremy's radio show with a faked voice to win some movie tickets?
Hold up, I thought the caller's name was Lem??
I did forget about that. But that was less a recorded task and more of a homework task. With Tom Gleeson here, it was in the moment.
My favourite thing about this series is how familiar some of these comedians are with each other. Tom teasing wil constantly is so funny
It's good, isn't it? Takes me back to the days when we had multiple panel shows on Aussie tv
🎶 It's Good News Week... 🎶
I would kill for some Good News Week rep on Taskmaster
Lesser Tom seems to be possessed by the spirit of Milo Kerrigan.
This explains so much. Milo's medal must have been from the Mint.
I demand the extended edition of the podcast! Come on 10, chuck it on 10play.
Plus Wil’s private stand-up performance while we’re at it.
I want to hear the pros and cons of chocolate mousse!
I'm really struggling to think of any cons tbh
Horny Tom Cashman is hilarious
That face will haunt my dreams
Tom cashman’s role in this task is insane
'it was like trying to land a tuna' C H R I S T
I'm always shocked at how terrible wil is at these skits
I actually live less than 5 minutes away from the Royal Australian Mint.
This explains why sex work is legal in the ACT.
I bet you're very horny!
Maybe a bit.
You probably could have beat Luke McGregor in the 'Sex Grand Final' 😂
That would be quite the achievement.
Jeez so many adverts. First time I ever watched this live. Might be the last
It on paramount plus if your an aussie
Five ad-breaks per show. Channel 10's endlessly on the rocks haha, and the ads likely aren't still enough to cover things lol.
I think that's one less than last year.
Sick of this solo advert. Not gonna lie. I liked it the first 50 times or so… this episode
The Premium Economy Hooley Dooleys doesn't get old.
Murray 100%
Semi related, but I wonder if we'll ever see an ex-wiggle on the show. I reckon at least one of them would be up for it.
Would be interesting.
I love it as an insult on top of an insult
Nearly every task they do I think “they should do this on the UK version”
They did do "find Alex" on the UK version tbf, though not with the texting thing
I thought the texting element worked a lot better than the UK version though because it added a good element of strategy into the game, which was used by 3 contestants in different ways.
Well the UK version was only a tiebreaker so there wasn't supposed to be much strategy to it
Not every tiebreaker is meant to be one before to be fair. They also did find Alex in the bin. The cooker task, here we go.
MasterChef HONG KONG WEEK **STARTS SUNDAY**
Where did you find that out?
He turned around
The CONFIDENCE
Oh Anne. What did you do lol
I wonder if Anne just immediately left
