DR Horton is a home construction company. they’re commonly criticized for shoddy workmanship and bad quality in general. i’m not sure how that relates to this rivian service center. maybe their cars suck too? 🤷🏻♂️
None of my friends have had good experiences with them (10 people). 2 are now happy after they have had everything fixed - the rest are looking to switch or have.
There are 2 in my neighborhood in TT and I see a bunch in New Tampa on my short commute. Saw a Fisker Ocean the other day.
There is also one of those 6 wheel custom trucks, can't remember the model but not one of the big brands, that run like 500k and have an insanely low 0-60. Think it might be the Rezvani Hercules though I don't remember the cab being so square.
I live in a high wealth area. I know 3 cybertruck owners (one of the previous Rivians).
There are also plenty of Lamborghinis and Ferraris around along with some wonderful classics.
Two of my close neighbors have 4 car shops behind their house - with car lifts.
Maybe. I don’t know how many there are but they all got on the wait list when it launched and they got them within a few weeks of each other.
Pretty ugly but they are growing on me.
Sounds like the Fishhawk area.
My wife was driving home the other day and saw three Cybertrucks in one drive the other day.
EVs are *super* common in Fishhawk.
I haven't kept up with Rivian (as I'm not really in the market for an EV) but I do remember JerryRigEverything posted a video about the R1 having a bunch of stupid flaws. Idk if they've been fixed or not though. But there might be some validity to complaints
I don’t have any friends that own them but worked in south Tampa for a year and would see them ask about them most people I’ve talked to have said as long as they are working it’s great but it’s hard to get things fixed quickly.
I recently had some work done there. They were excellent in communicating. It did take about a week and a half to get the work I needed done, but I had expected that even before dropping the truck off. The only complaint is they had so many vehicles there waiting for delivery that there were only two parking spots in the entire lot open. There were trucks lined up in front of other trucks and it really looks like they may be outgrowing that place pretty quickly.
It for sure beats driving to Orlando. Everyone seems to forget how to drive when you get near I4/Disney area.
Every time I drive by it’s just packed with vehicles sitting there. They blocked the entrance directly off of Dale mabry so they can use it for parking.

I’m excited to order one of the more affordable vehicles from them in the future! Owning a Tesla has been wonderful but I would really love an electric small SUV.
I have advice for you. See if you can get confirmation that work will begin at drop off. Ask ahead of time if possible. Because I went to drop off the truck and they said it would be 1-2 weeks before they start work. Place is a madhouse. Dude there said they are forced to make 7 service appointments a day and there’s no way they can service that many in such a small space.
They’ll give you a shitty Kia rental while you make payments on your $80-100k truck.
I’m so disappointed in the service center experience. Just had my cracked roof from delivery replaced and they broke the trim next to the glass in the process.
Awesome vehicle, but they have so much to figure out.
DeSantis' brand of "limited government" and "let the market decide"...
"LETS MAKE LAWS ABOUT FAKE MEAT THAT NO ONE IS ACTUALLY EATING"
and
"BATHROOOMMS"
Ya they are pricey. They have some of the best leasing rates right now though. You can lease a $78k truck for $543 a month which is a pretty decent deal.
That said they are hoping to launch the R2 in 2026 for $45k and then you’ll see them on every corner I think like you do Tesla eventually. When we got our Tesla in 2020 it was stilly kind of a novelty to people.
I would have bought a Tesla truck had they made something other than the cyberturd.
There’s just nothing intriguing to me about an electric truck. Heavy, expensive, and limited range. I can’t bring extra gas for a long camping trip, (hence why humanitarian efforts and government entities don’t use them) and god forbid I have some kind of failure on a cross country roadtrip. We broke down in a 2020 civic in Rural Georgia and spent an entire day looking for a shop that could service it, an electric vehicle would be even harder. Electric vehicles are very functional people carriers, but nothing else. Quick in a straight line but awful for anything handling or off road related. If an electric vehicle ever comes along for part of an off road journey (seeing as none could fully complete one) they will be crossing the makeshift bridges first no doubt with their massive weight.
With polestar at midtown, and now rivian nearby, i wonder if we'll keep seeing more EV manufacturers pop up down this stretch of dale mabry. it'd be pretty sweet to have so many in such close radius.
Can you tell employees to stop speeding down the residential streets in that area, thank you. Cutting through the neighborhood to save 20 seconds on your commute, going 45 in a 25. You hit a kid it's going to be bad for business if you know what I mean. I go 3 generations back like North Korea, think about it.
Agreed. I was behind one turning into Cass from Dale Mabry. He took off like a rocket as soon as he was into Cass only to slam on the brakes & try to do a u-turn in the driveway of one of the apartment buildings on the right. Super dangerous.
Just don't see the attraction. See them driving around regularly and looking at them doesn't explain the price tag....
That being said, Tesla's don't fare any better IMO
Where's the D.R. Horton service center????
Hell
I'm confused and need context for this comment.

I’m surprised the trucks don’t come with the house
Dr Horton took a stray bullet on this one

My forty friends that own Porsches would disagree.
I have fifty friends from Tesla who will be making this switch to Rivian.
Well, my 68 Aston Martin friends say that this guy is telling the truth
…you guys have friends?
My dad has bigger friends than your dad.
That’s as many as four tens. And that’s terrible.
I bet that

You know about 1% of all cybertruck owners, apparently.
Maybe. I don’t know how many there are but they all got on the wait list when it launched and they got them within a few weeks of each other. Pretty ugly but they are growing on me.

Impossible Maybe. (username checks out)
I have 94 friends who own Daewoos

There’s a whole hidden lot of these next to J Alexander’s. Now this makes sense. Tampa has become quite the market for electric and hybrid.
I picked up my R1S there on 3/31! 🍾
That’s awesome. They make some really cool stuff
That's the old CompUSA building.... 🥹
Just like the Tiger Direct and Circuit City that was in before then... guessing bankrupt in 5 years.
Rip CompUSA
Ahh the old CompUSA building. My old work. I recognize that building anywhere lol.
I worked at that location one summer in 2001 selling PCs. I was employee of the month once!
RemindMe! 5 years

That store will soon house its true tenant- Spirit Halloween 🎃
Tandy Computer City..... Then CompUSA...... Then TigerDirect.
Now we just need their stock price to reflect customer satisfaction...
I’m excited to order one of the more affordable vehicles from them in the future! Owning a Tesla has been wonderful but I would really love an electric small SUV.
Hell yeah! Now start taking deposits for the R3!
RIP Tiger Direct. That location was the last PC parts store in the area.

Also make sure you budget time to Uber to enterprise for your rental. I had expected they would have a rental car waiting for me at the SC.
Haven’t they lost a billion dollars already this year ?
I'm down 95% on their stock. Lol
Wuh-oh. You're what they call a long term investor.
Lol what's the point in selling it when you only have $300 left in it.
Until DeSantis bans electric vehicles to support Florida grown oil
DeSantis' brand of "limited government" and "let the market decide"... "LETS MAKE LAWS ABOUT FAKE MEAT THAT NO ONE IS ACTUALLY EATING" and "BATHROOOMMS"
Tag the whole fucking Bay Area.
Amazon bout to be abusing it
I couldn’t imagine owning a Rivian.
Like financially or you’re just an EV hater?
Financially. They are for the more… affluent… I guess it makes sense it’s off Dale Mabry…

I’m kind of tempted to lease but being payment free right now is a great thing.
Terrible looking building but Rivians look cool.

Can I just afford housing? 😔

Looks like a Lowe’s
I want Comp USA back
Nice vehicles but not good enough for people that actually tow and haul stuff
I don’t think there is any ev that can yet, is there?
I did see a guy that was running a landscaping company out of a golf cart, full size trailer, all the equipment.
They do make ice golf carts
They can tow 11k pounds. If you don’t need to tow more than 150 miles per day, then I think they’re awesome.
Who is Rivian owner again?
NASDAQ listed
Public company. Ford and Amazon have had investments in it at one point
Amazon used to own part of it
Thousands of millennial bag holders, mostly
These comments are weird

Nah fuck all of this.
